SUSPECT IN CUSTODY MN - 2 Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses were shot by someone impersonating a police officer, JUNE 13,2025

  • #401
SIBLEY COUNTY, Minn. — The possible belongings of Vance Boelter, the suspect in the fatal shooting of MN Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, appear to have been located by law enforcement.

What appears to be Boelter's cowboy hat and a vehicle of interest were found along the roadside in Sibley County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

So this would be the point he is now thought to be in the Buick mentioned yesterday? How does this fit in the timeline?
What the what?

Green Isle is in Sibley County. Home of a lot of very small towns in central MN. He didn't go far.

What's he driving now?

Sounds like a location where he switched vehicles to get out of town. Might have met his wife there as it would be a familiar area to both of them. She must have dropped him off somewhere, then headed towards Canada, where LE intercepted her. He was probably heading a different direction.

Maybe he got another vehicle, burner phone, etc. I assume US Marshals are on the job doing a lot of data analysis.

ETA: Green Isle in Sibley is the locale of their farm, where they lived for several years. LE was searching the farm yesterday. Not sure if they still own it.

Watching the video, it's a black car.
His cowboy hat was literally just sitting on the side of the road.
This is nuts.
IMO.

Drivers side window appears to be down in the car.
Also, it's not another SUV, looks like a sedan. How many vehicles does he have?
IMO.

I'm trying to figure out how the police didnt get him when they came upon him and he fired at them. Sounds like there was more than one police officer shooting at him and he was on foot- kind of puzzling.
There were only 2 police officers when the firing started, and they were trying to fire back and take cover, and also they were trying to protect and give aid to one of the shooting victims who was at the front door, etc. And during this melee, the shooter ran back in the house and out the back door. This is how an FBI agent in the Twin Cities described how the shooter got away. Given the scenario, the agent wasn't at all surprised that he got away.

When LE searched their farm near Green Isle yesterday, there were several vehicles parked there. I wonder if he was still hiding in the area and they missed him.

They own a home in Green Isle. But I’m trying to place this in the timeline. He went to his home in GI after being seen on camera at 6AM at the rental in MN?

Ditched the hat, clothing and car, then someone brought him the Buick mentioned yesterday?

Looking a bit further into his CV, things seem fine until he leaves Greencore in 2016, then things start to get sketchy. He claims to have spent five years as a general manager with 7-Eleven in Minneapolis. The problem with this is that 7-Eleven are headquartered in Texas and didn't even have stores in Minnesota in 2016.

Now he seems to have an odd job working for a funeral home whilst trying and failing to get a security company off the ground. A month ago he put a message on his LinkedIn to try and get back into the food industry, so it would seem that things have been spiraling downhill professionally for quite some time.

It wouldn't be the first time that somebody has decided that their life's problems are all somebody else's fault, and in their paranoia decide to take revenge on their perceived enemies.

Kids add to financial stresses and there are five children- we don’t know ages but can guess that if three are living at home now those three are under 18, and there are also two over 18.
In 2016 when he left Greencore the kids would be near these ages-
- two children over the age of 8-10 yrs
- three below 8-10 years- some likely not yet in school.

It has been previously noted that he had ‘Likes’ on social media with evangelical churches. It is not uncommon for wives of evangelical families to stay home with children and not work. That is a lot of pressure for a breadwinner with five children- and unstable employment.

IMO

Somebody's got some 'splaining to do.

IMO he probably dumped that car within 2 hours of walking away from the Fremont house, Sibley is only a county or two away.

If he had help, and he must have (witting or otherwise), I'm surprised if LE hasn't learned what he's driving now.

Cover a lot of ground in 24 hours... unless he's hunkered down. Small towns, I wonder if he has other family in MN where he could camp out, take hostage.

Loose cannon.

Please link if you can! ❤️
Trying to find a link - it was announced in the live video from 11Alive that I linked, but KARE is who was doing the reporting.

Here's latest video from KARE from the area. Just 5 minutes away from their farm. Reporter was out there yesterday during the search

ETA: He probably left in one of those vehicles seen at their farm yesterday. I assumed they had a few older kids, so these may have been cars of the teens, young adult kids.

He might actually go into sleep deprivation-induced psychosis, eventually, and slip up if he truly didn't get far away like the authorities are saying. I've been awake long enough for it to happen to me and its serious business.

They are saying LE is out there searching home to home looking for him.

Just linked it above with timestamp.

Thanks! I was listening and hadn't gotten to that part yet. It's a good video, has a lot of information.

With any luck, LE will persuade the wife to reveal his location or where he was headed. Oddly, the black car in the video was parked in a field near a tree line, about 100 yards from the road. A diversion? Trying to make LE think he went into the woods? They searched the area around his farm for hours yesterday.

ETA: A data dump from the cell phone towers out there might reveal a lot, possibly burner phones, etc.
