Deposition of John Bennett Ramsey

December 12, 2001

Q.
When you were looking at the ransom note, was there anything in the language of the ransom note that struck you as peculiar?

A. The whole thing was peculiar. We were addressed as "Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey," and then they switched to "John" personally. They asked for twenty dollar bills and hundred dollar bills, as I recall. [...]

However, the RN was addressed to "Mr. Ramsey". It was only the practice note that began "Mr. and Mrs.". Has this been noticed before? Would Ramsey have known about the practice note by Dec 2001? Even so, it's suspicious that his prime example of a RN peculiarity was in fact from the practice note.

I think they quickly found the evidence of a practice note though right? so I'm thinking he did BUT either he is very detailed or HE WAS IN on the coverup for BR ( which is what I have thought from day one)

I'm positive, on JR's death-bed, he won't admit to anything.
I recently watched his interview again - along w/ Burke's. IMO - there is no way an IDI did this

Steve Thomas indicates it was found the afternoon of Dec. 26. But it was "Mr. and Mrs. |" The "R" wasn't completed.

It is interesting that Ramsey had that on his mind.

Related is a question I have about the ransom note itself. We know the RN has been analyzed for style and content but was the RN ever tested for DNA and were the results of a DNA test revealed? Seems like the RN would be loaded with DNA from the writer unless they wore gloves. I tend to think that some family member killed Jon Benet and that there was a family cover up.
