  • A hearing for examining trial was granted and scheduled for Dec. 9.
  • It will be Brad’s first appearance in court if he attends in person.
  • Some legal experts have said some evidence in the affidavit may not be admissible in court.
  • Brad's attorneys also filed a request to see any evidence the state has, which includes:
    • Written and recorded statements from Brad Simpson or any witness
    • Physical evidence
    • Pictures and videos
    • A potential witness list

Legal expert explains that it may be more than a decade before Suzanne is legally declared dead.

"The family will not be residing there and we need to get it cleaned up so that it can be rented or sold," he said. "We are helping the children move in that direction."

I keep hoping that Cotter will be charged with an “accessory to murder” charge (or whatever charge it is where someone helps the murderer dispose of the body. Cotter HAS to know more than what he is telling.

“If you are in Bandera… put all of that *ish in the pump house…” ergo BS knows that Cotter is/or was in Bandera and that Cotter responded, “I’ll be there in 40 mins (re: when BS asked Cotter to meet him at his [Cotters house in Dominion].

“In Texas, you need to wait seven years after somebody is reported missing before it's presumed that they might be deceased,” attorney Joseph Hoelscher said, adding that after that period of time has passed, it's another three years before the individual's estate can be closed.

It’s a process Hoelscher has personally experienced. ...

Yes . They own it. Someone wants that money. Wonder if there’s an equity loan ? One report I read said there was. $6500 mo payment. This article : Behind Closed Doors in Olmos Park: The Dark Truth of Wealth, Secrets, and the Disappearance of…
Their children still need financial support for daily living, much less the holidays and any extracurriculars they are in - I would assume...And the HELOC was satisfied per Bexar County records. I read that article too, which is what prompted my searching and they refinanced/extended a few times until the final doc stating the loan was satisfied.

There were new loans at the same time, so they released the prior loans and filed new home equity deeds of trust. They still owe quite a bit. Try to sort your search results by date filed and you'll see the new mortgages (deeds of trust) filed shortly before the releases. Those have not been released.
The final doc is the release of Lien from the bank. When sorted by date. I have been in the home business for years and have read many many of these...

Is the house owned in a trust? Rules might be different for selling if husband had durable POA?

IANAL, moo

The kids need their stuff. That part is so sad. I sure refrigerators and freezers with food. Brad is smart and knows he not going back there. This whole deal is so sad. Beautiful family.
I'm with you on this one...it breaks my heart. This is their HOME. Their mama made it happy for them even if she was miserable on the inside.

All I have seen is their personal names on the Deed doc and on the property info from BCAD. I don't know otherwise though...

I agree with the Cotter point. Hopefully he’s cooperating with LE now that he is facing some serious prison time.

In regards to the text between BS and Cotter on 10/8, I infer that BS was in Bandera asking Cotter to meet him at Cotter’s Bandera place. Dominion homes don’t have pump houses, but they do have 24/7 security with manned guarded entrances, and I have made that drive numerous times between Dominion area and Bandera which takes approximately 40-50 minutes. Cotter response I will be there in 40 works for that drive to his ranch from the Dominion area and of course the Cotter property in Bandera has a pump house. I don’t think BS would risk going to the Dominion home. IMO Cotter was collecting things in the San Antonio area that BS had asked him to collect including the gun. Is the gun BS texted about the same gun discovered in the wall of Cotter Dominion home? Did Cotter have second thoughts about moving the gun to Bandera or did he think the better option was to hide it in Dominion home? Or were there two guns to be dealt with? Obviously Cotter knew what **it to bring based upon a previous unknown conversation or text. It’s obvious that a search warrant on Cotter Bandera property is warranted but no public disclosure on that front.

Cotter did tell the police at first that BS was talking about a .22 rifle, right? I would assume he had that, or pointed LE in the direction to recover that .22, to "cover his tracks" on the AK47

Chandler explained that after arriving in San Antonio, she and her siblings went to the police, which led to a search warrant for their home in Olmos Park.

"Because of me and my siblings' statements did not align with what my dad had told them, they were able to get a search warrant to get into the house to see the hole in the wall from where my dad had pushed my mom downstairs and to arrest him and put him in jail," she said.
Brave youngsters. Feel so much for what they are going through.

Question… if BS convicted of murder, couldn’t that be much sooner?

Is it possible the Simpsons could have attained financing with a new mortage from a different bank, say recently? I am curious if a new loan had been secured with a mortage protection insurance MPI. Ex: if property had been placed in Suzanne Simpson’s name only with MPI
