The 2025 July 4th weekend has brought the first major flooding event to the Central Tx Hill Country area. It has caused terrible loss of life and destruction of property. Let us hope it will bring us Suzanne’s remains. If you live or recreate in the area near her river home, the next few days will be a time to be on the lookout.

I thought about this possibility too.

From yesterday:

“In the wake of the July Fourth floods that overwhelmed parts of the Texas Hill Country, however, Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales on July 16 filed paperwork seeking for an extension in the evidence deadline, citing the "large-scale operation" in Kerr County that the Texas Rangers were a part of. Less than a week later, on July 22, District Court Judge Joel Perez approved the request.
The new date for Texas Rangers and Olmos Park police investigators to submit their evidence to prosecutors: Sept. 1, nearly a full year after Suzanne, 51, initially went missing from her Olmos Park home.”

If there is a private thread for this case, may I ask to be added?

Hard to believe that the husband is granted the right to talk to his son - assuming the son is the boy who told police that he witnessed his parents fighting that night and his Dad throwing his Mom against the wall.

“Perez also permitted Brad Simpson to call his underage son, but they’re unable to talk about the case.”

Excerpted:

Ultimately, though, prosecutors building the cases against Cotter and his friend and former business partner, Simpson, say they couldn’t agree to ending the GPS monitoring. They say it’s too early to agree to as the FBI and other investigating agencies continue to produce evidence in the case, all of which could have implications for Cotter and his case.

An anonymous witness who investigators say has supplied corroborating information in the past informed investigators that Cotter had actually taken an AK-47 from the Simpson family home, where Brad Simpson had a walk-in vault stocked with weapons.

According to the warrant, Cotter retrieved the weapon prior to detectives searching the family home. Investigators then took the anonymous witness to Cotter’s home, the warrant says, and the witness directed detectives to a hollowed-out area in a wall behind Cotter’s bedroom television. Inside, they found the AK-47 in question.

Excerpted:

Fellow defense attorney John Hunter noted that most high-profile cases he has handled did not go to trial within a year. He suggested that the charges against Cotter might be a strategy to secure his cooperation in Simpson's case.

"Based upon the situation as we see it, where we still don't actually know where Mr. Simpson's wife is, my guess is that they needed every single possible tool in their tool chest they could come up with, including trying to get someone to cooperate by threatening them," Hunter said.

" ... Almost exactly 11 months after Olmos Park mother of four Suzanne Clark Simpson was last seen, a judge has granted the executor of her will permission to sell the family home at 520 E. Olmos Drive to another couple in a private deal. The couple was slated to buy the property for $1.2 million – a little more than $200,000 less than the Bexar County Appraisal District valued the home and .38 acres at in 2025.

[...]

According to the request to sell the property, the Simpson family still owed around $680,000 on the home’s mortgage since buying the home in 2014." ...
