Sometimes the questions are complicated but the answers are simple. Isn't that the truth. Sounds like something Judge Judy might say. I like that tag nomoresorrow

That's a Dr. Suess quote - Love Robert Fulghum's "All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten ..." too - Things really aren't as complicated as we sometimes make them . . . :waitasec: Just haven't figured out why we do it . . . :banghead:

I don't think it's surprising that relations may have cooled between TN and her DIL.

1. After all, Ron was arrested after a confrontation with that DIL's family - a confrontation that, per the LE Report, began when the DIL called her family to come and "rescue" her. As a result of that confrontation TN's only son is facing felony charges.

2. Two days later, LE is again involved when Ron is alleged to have left a headless dead rat in the DIL's brother's mailbox. Now, same only son maybe be facing federal charges.

3. Also, maybe TN doesn't appreciate the fact neither her DIL, nor her DIL's attorney, will meet with the investigators searching for her GD.

All in all, I think Misty can look forward to a seat at the children's table come Thanksgiving Dinner....MOO

Bumping my own post to note that I was apparently wrong about #3 above.

Ronald Cummings’ mother said she does not believe her daughter-in-law has misled investigators. Misty Croslin has a seventh-grade education, Teresa Neves said and should not be able to fool interrogators that have included FBI agents.

“She feels they are not being fair to her,” Neves said Monday.

Dear Ms. Neves, LE is stating they are NOT fooled by what she's been saying and would formally like to ask her some questions regarding her statements that make no sense to anyone, let alone someone with a 7th grade education."
regards,
LE

Maybe they should bring in a 7th grader to ask her the questions, then.

This statement is surprising to me because I believe TN would give anything to have Haleigh back, and I would generally not expect any grandmother to take the information that her daughter-in-law is not telling LE the truth so calmly. I would understand being in denial about their own children or people that have been part of the family for ages but Misty is not her own daughter nor her teenage love and hasn't been with Ron for very long. I would expect relatives to stand by their children's girlfriends and boyfriends in the beginning when all they know are open questions and no one has been implicated but once LE repeatedly tells them the girlfriend's story is BS, the trust would begin to crack.

Is TN's comment just a front to cover her own anxieties and mistrust about Misty's story? If not, what has the seventh-grader done to earn this unfailing trust? I know TN said she was good with the kids but if it was me that would last only so far if one of the kids went missing and LE said the person was lying to them.

Just my opinion Shay but I for one do not think you were wrong about number three. Actions speak louder than words in my opinion and in this instance where TN and her relationship with Misty is concerned, I think trouble is afloat. The fact that TN responded with that statement is all the more reason to believe that TN is trying to quell the public's fears. TN is a very smart woman and I believe her loyalties lie with Ronald and therefore Misty. Why come out and give a statement like that at all? Because you let your emotions slip out of check and more than one person picked up on it.

Why was Misty not present at the "big" meeting with TM and MN? curiosity abounds. I don't think that TN intentionally gave the public a glimpse of her emotions. I think he heart just got the better of her. Many will not agree but that is fine. TN knows more than we do about the night that Haleigh went missing and as much as she wants the community to think she stands behind her daughter in law, I see some tension. I wish that TN as well as Cindy Anthony and a few other parents would realize that only the truth will set them free. Enabling a child should be added to the list of seven deadly sins. JMO

ITA with your last sentence. IMO, we are given children to raise, and then let them go. The last part is the hardest for many parents - maybe most - again MOO. But if it doesn't occur, the child never truely becomes an adult with an adult's self control, an adult's empathy for others, an adult's sense of responsiblity and accountability. And then that forever child has a baby and it goes on and on. I wonder how many tragedies have resulted.

You put in words what I really think had angered me so with TN. I really do believe that we bear responsibility for our children's actions if we by ours, enable them (in my book that is assisting) to commit crimes.

IMO, TN clearly loves Haleigh with all her heart, so either:

1) TN really and truly believes that Misty loves Haleigh and would not do anything to harm her and is clueless about what really happened that evening. Or
2) TN feels that she will gain more by publically supporting Misty and enabling her to stay with the family.

But shouldn't it be in the public's attention that Misty is the key, confirmed by LE, and don't you think they should put Misty in the car and drive her to LE and clear this all up, instead of cooking her dinner, and not asking her about the night she lost their precious grandchildI think they would get tons of public support for that, not enabling her?

They know Misty far better than we do, but Misty strikes me as being pretty obstinate. If they know that by pushing her that she would draw back, then they may feel that leaving her be is the best strategy, and hope that she will inadvertently drop some useful information.
Remember that she clammed up when she received the harsh interrogation by LE and she stormed out. Obviously, she was not intimidated. What is the expression? Sometimes you catch more flies with honey.

Why not just ignore her, have nothing to do with her because she lost their precious grandchild, and throw her to the wolves? No one needs to coddle this person, she didn't lose the family dog, come on, its time to act like they are truly cared about finding Haleigh then coaxing and making excuses for Misty-

They care most of all about Haleigh and will do what they feel gives the best chance that some information will come out that can help find her. JMO.

And the LE is saying that Misty has all the answers, so they need to stop protecting and harboring her and escort her down to headquarters!

That's too bad as I was really hoping he would.

With regards to Ronald Cumming's current charges, he filed an Insolvency affidavit and requested a P.D.

I agree, it is time to show Misty the true meaning of "Tough Love".
