In the Casy case, they participated by questioning the players. They could do this with this case, but I don't think some of these players would like that.

From what I gathered with the interviews of the players, mainly the anthonys, FBI were doing profiles of each of them and gathering a good profile on casey. The FBI did not take over in that case just assisted in getting information about the individuals and how to deal with them.

My guess is if the players in this case wanted to talk to FBI, they would be more than happy to interview them. Caution: you better be careful about what you wish for.

Yeah that is what I am saying. I don't think they can take over or they would have. They can go in and help but until things like a ransom or proof of an actual kidnapping come to light I don't think they can take over.

Right, the original crime has to cross over into more than one state jurisdiction.
Drug trafficking, Haylee Donathan case, even the Michael Vick dog fighting case was federal-he did time in a federal prison.

Well I wonder how Ron feels about TN and Marie wanting the FBI to take over the case?

I believe they are already involved to an extent, if they feel that LE is corrupt they will have to ask for an investigation into LE on the case. I feel something isn't right with this case but I am not betting on a corrupt LE agency.
I just really don't see TN or Marie for that matter involved in this at all. I feel TN is wanting whole heartedly to believe what she is told from Ronald and others, but I think she is fed up with the carp and want's something done and does not know who to believe anymore...maybe not even her own son...
Every one acts differently when going through extreme losses I just do not see this woman involved at all....jmo of course

Is just plain old murder a federal crime?

no, but maybe if a serial killer commits murder in more than 1 state.
I think most of the time it is handled by the state-look at Ted Bundy.
He committed acts in more than 1 state but was put to death in FL.

Since both TN and RC share the same pathology,IMO, it is difficult to make a judgement call.

Not good reporting in this case.

Exactly how many people were there? Was this inside AS's house?

Whisperer-there is video of the vigil held at AS home in the link Busylady posted. AS speaks, it shows Ron and Teresa.
There, I am back on topic, lol.

I may be wrong about this, but Washington doesn't have the death penalty. Someone said that Ted must have wanted it to end as he came to FL and we have the death penalty.

I think they have it for some things. I am pretty sure it was the feds that put McVeigh to sleep.

mystic, I am one who believed that TN may have known more after the fact and I am still unsure what I believe in regards to that. I have had an extremely difficult time believing that she believed Ron and Misty's ridiculous stories ...but maybe she did.. so for myself, now I will just wait and see. IF TN truly believed them and now wants the truth no matter who may be responsible, (not that it would matter to her or anyone else) but she would have my undying respect and I would write a letter to her apologizing for some of my not so very nice "cindyanthonylike" thoughts over these months. Either way, I never believed her to have played a part in HaLeigh's disappearance itself..jmho..

I flip flop a lot on Teresa's involvement, what she knows about Haleigh's disappearance,
is she in denial? Does she know but doesn't want to believe her son could have anything to do with Haleigh's disappearance? Does she believe Ron's lies if he is telling her any?Kind of like Cindy A. but Teresa is harder to read, imo.

I am going out on a limb here, but isn't it possible that TN believed in the beginning that Misty couldn't have hurt Haleigh? How many of us have felt a certain way about a person, only to change our minds over time. I think she knows a lot more about Misty and maybe her son, than she did in the beginning of this case. She may have had motive to praise Misty in the beginning to protect her son or support a wedding to keep him out of jail, but over time she has to have seen what we are seeing. So maybe her and Marie have had enough and want this to end, no matter what it means in the end.

Bern is referring to Washingon state.
McVeigh's crime was committed in Oklahoma.

Ok I get it now.

McVeigh was the first convicted criminal to be executed by the United States federal government since Victor Feguer in Iowa on March 15, 1963.

As I see it TN will do everything in her power to attempt to convince anyone and everyone it was an abduction just as long as she can take the focus off her son.. And after reading what Marie stated, seeems she is being led to believe it was an abduction too and hasn't come to grips with Ron C being the one responsible for whatever it is that happened to Haleigh or that he is the one responsible... JMO

Griffis, Haleigh's maternal grandmother, said a federal probe is needed because Haleigh was abducted from a jurisdiction that is extremely corrupt.

So I'm getting confused.......Is this thread going to be strictly about TN, or is it becoming a catch-all for these disappeared articles and what they might mean?

Since it appears both grandmothers want the same thing, it seems a little weird discussing it only in TN's thread, and would be even more complicated to take it to both MG's and TN's threads to discuss each one......

Bumping as I too am confused...and to FURTHER this confusion (re thread appropriate comments) I just found, through reading around, a video done by Tim H that pretty much tells us that the Sykes/Cummings are in close contact with this, er, musician, blood donor, er blogger :waitasec:

Should I post it here? Personally I think this warrants its own thread as this FBI discussion is far from exclusive to TN--JMVHO :)

Sure post it.

Was Crystal at that vigil?

This is another example of blowing smoke, imo. Sounds impressive to the general public but it is very low in ever taking place. The FBi completely taking over this case...uh...unlikely.

I would suggest they contact the DEA and get the darn county cleaned up. If criminals down there actually did time for drug arrests, maybe this would not have happened.

....Now who is contacting the Governor?

(snip, bbm) Agree
