I have been corresponding with a couple different people from Mexico recently. Their English is so much better than my Spanish that it is downright embarrassing and we've agreed to communicate in English.

Something occurred to me tonight after re-reading that ransom note. It reads a lot like something written by someone who thinks in Spanish and then translates into English. The grammar and word choices all make a lot more sense translated into Spanish.

I'm no expert and really don't know much about language analysis. It just seemed to me that there is a resemblance.

Aside from the personal tragedy of her life (the murder of JonBenet, the ovarian cancer, etc), that suddenly struck me as one of the saddest things I've heard read about Patsy Ramsey.

Getting a bachelor's is an accomplishment but it's not a huge one. Most people get over it within two years after they get their first real job. It happened close to half a lifetime before JonBenet died. That she would cling to it so seems sad, like she felt she had so few accomplishments in life that she had to proffer up a four year degree as proof of... something.

Yes, it sure does show that Patsy might have suffered from a lack of self-esteem & needed to point out her worth to other people.

Kind of like the ex-jock who lives in the past & is stuck in the past.

, LI_Mom! Well, some folks say she'd done it once, what would stop her from doing it again?

What I found interesting about where PR was publicly reported to have been during the 2nd Ramsey 'home invasion' was to a "Bible Study" with friends. Less publicly, it was said that she was actually having lunch with friends.

I guess it could have been a "Bible Study" lunch... but then that sorta reminds me of the new Laughing Cow Cheese commercial with the girl saying she joined a Book Club, and who was she to think that everyone was suppose to actually read the book and discuss it?

Yeah, right..."A Bible Study Group". My momma always told me that I'd burn in He!! real quick if I told lies about the Bible...

Oh yeah, so do the ones who break that commandment..."Thou Shalt Not Kill"... so I guess burnt toast is burnt toast.

IMHO

I have a neighbor that's a single parent, her son is my son's best friend. Whenever mom is out on a date...she tells her children she's going to her "bible study group". One day, my son exclaims..." she sure studies the bible A LOT! lol

Yes, this is one of the, if not the most fascinating case I have ever read about. I remember when Fatal Vision came out and I went though it so fast. And it was fascinating to watch him lie, just incredible with the blood evidence. But this case involves a mother and a father and they are educated and millionaires, and I think that is what most people find so hard to believe - that she could be involved in this defiling of their daughter. They have this facade of being very important people and then when we start to look at them, especially Patsy, she is nothing like John describes. He would like to believe that we are falling for this incredible line of bs, and he is fine with us not believing as long as he is not called on it while he is delivering it and most times he is not.

So SD, what do you think? Do you think Patsy is one of the more insecure people out there and knew she was dying or going to die sooner than she wanted and life was flying by and there was some kind of jealousy with JB so that she could let herself lose control with her rage. Because most people will control their rage when they see it getting out of hand or they go so far and then stop, they do not fling their child so hard that she cracks her head wide open. I realize that it happens, but most times, it will be controlled; otherwise we would have no children left.

Some will say that having cancer would make one a person who is more appreciative of the time they have, as Patsy has said. But someone got very angry that night and it was either Patsy or John, imo.

I'm afraid I do.

I do also. I think she was exhausted and in NO MOOD whatsoever and did not care to control the rage and that is very important when someone at that split second does not care to control her rage - death is seconds away. I think JonBenet walked in the house that night as Burke and Patsy said and something happened within an hour and a half. Patsy was quick to say the spoon was too big, something a child would not use. But I beg to differ, a child would pick a big spoon rather than the small - bigger is better. No doubt in my mind.

ITA. The importance she placed on her degree is why I think it is very unlikely that she did not discuss journalism with Mr and Mrs Santa. I think she knew about Ms, McReynold's play and her daughter's molestation which had happened on the day after Christmas. How could she not have known when she had known them for at least 3 years?

Actually, to eat chunk pineapple a fork seems easier than a spoon, but if child chose a spoon, I agree a bigger one would have been much easier to use than a smaller one for pineapple.

That's something I've not heard before. Could you give an example or two?

I hope nobody will take this the wrong way because I'm not trying to be petty or cruel.....

IMO, I never thought JB was a particularly 'beautiful' girl.

In some pictures she IS stunning or downright adorable BUT in other pictures she looks pretty average or worse. And I do think the older she got the less cute she would have become.

I always wondered if Patsy couldn't deal with NOT having a drop dead gorgeous SURE winner.

We know JB herself complained about not feeling beautiful. Is this something she heard on the circuit? From whispers? From her own mother?

And we also know that John had started to feel uncomfortable at the direction the pageants were starting to take.

If Patsy cared about one thing in her life.... it was winning a crown to prove that she/JB was THE most beautiful person around. Shallow isn't JUST an end of a swimming pool. lol

I personally thought JB was far prettier as her natural self, a brunette when she didn't look all made up and had a natural smile of a happy child.
