I've paid for a homeless person to have a Christmas dinner at a local shelter this year in lieu of sending loads of cards, though I have posted two to my elderly godparents because... tradition and oldness!

I gathered up all my left over Christmas cards and wrapping paper from previous years and will use it all up instead of buying more. I'll give a few cards out to people I'll actually see. It's all going to be a bit mismatched (which I'm not keen on!) but we can't continue littering up the world.

By you!

I love it.

Princess Beatrice gets her wedding date at last: Big day penciled in for early June (but it mustn't clash with the racing-obsessed Queen's beloved Ascot)

After a tough few weeks for Princess Beatrice, I gather there is at last some happy news for the young Royal as the Queen has finally agreed to let her announce a wedding date – albeit one that doesn’t interrupt Royal Ascot.

Her Majesty says that Beatrice and her fiance Edo Mapelli Mozzi can reveal details about their big day in the New Year.

I’m told we can expect the ceremony to be in early June, as the racing-obsessed Monarch has stipulated the date must not interrupt her favourite meeting, which next year starts on June 16.:p

A source close to the couple said: ‘Bea and Edo will finally announce their wedding date in the second week of January. The date has been described as “early summer”, just before the summer social season kicks off.’

Snag a piece of the Duchess' past! Meghan Markle's #24 Deal or No Deal briefcase is going up for auction, 12 years after she appeared on the show - and it's expected to sell for $6,000

Back when the 38-year-old Duchess of Sussex was a struggling actress in Hollywood, she appeared as a briefcase girl on the game show for 34 episodes from 2006 to 2007.

that is great! Doing what one can. You have inspired me and I think Harry and Meghan will inspire those of greater means to do more positive with their great wealth.

It was amazing to find out all of the things Prince had done.

Think of the joy for that person to be remembered for Christmas

I don’t find any link other than the Sussex royal instagram.

It’s very sweet, and, but I wonder why there isn’t more positive press?

Because, the pounding of celebrity “you should” with the great wealth or otherwise is a sham?

Purity inspiration great wealth is not inspiring or happening.

Sorry, anyone who has amassed wealth has done so via many means. Over decades.

Unravel that, and you might have the key to the universe.

I love the BRF thread.

I don’t love the crap that derails it, like click bait, like cynical holiday posts, like “ inspire me” ...

Really?

Remember Christmas for my PR campaign.

It’s so different in the real world.

I am glad Meghan and Harry are going to California for Christmas. It will be so much warmer, sunnier, and nicer. Rather than another "command performance" at Sandringham. Grey, cold, formal, rules, traditions....

Well, they have a small child now and very much aging great-grandparents who might not be in next year's Christmas pictures. And engaging with Prince Charles and Camilla sounds like fun. I think he'd be hilarious after a couple of tipples. It doesn't sound at all like this is "grey, cold, formal, rules, traditions". If anything, it has the warmth and personality of The Queen and Prince Philip. They both come off as having a rather modest style having come of age in WWII and both serving in the military, seeing their nation in great hardship and danger, respectful of their duties to the public.

I thought everyone got together with family for Christmas, as it is a religious and family time, then went on their sunny warm holidays after the New Year.

It seems to me, IMHO, that Megan is still early enough in her relationships with the Royal Family that she still needs to be there for these large private gatherings to respect and participate with these people. And bring Doria with her for support!

And, I think they are nuts having Archie miss out on this holiday at Sandringham.

This is hilarious.

We're Mary Berry fans here as well. Love her & await the show with the Duchess!

The first TV character my son identified was Elmo of Sesame Street fame.

The next was Emeril:

He was 2, he'd make that tiny fist & proclaim "Emeril! Emeril cook! BAM!"

Lamb Chop was next.

Then, Iron Chef Morimoto!

Glad to know that HRH Louis is in sync with his cultural heritage and I'm sure Mary Berry is delighted.

Duchess of Cornwall's son reveals his mother Camilla would be up at 6AM 'swearing at the turkey in the AGA' when she used to cook Christmas dinner for her family

Londoner Tom Parker Bowles, 44, the eldest son of Camilla and her ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles revealed his festive memories were peppered with his mother and aunt swearing as they worked their magic in the kitchen.

In an interview with Town and Country, the food critic and author said: '[I remember] my mother and aunt waking up and kicking a turkey into an Aga, which is a sort of always-on English cooking thing that you have in the country.

The royals also take part in the German tradition of sharing gifts on Christmas Eve, a tradition started by Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert...

But rather than the grand gifts you might expect the royal family gifting each other, they in fact compete to buy one another the tackiest, silliest gifts.

At 6pm precisely the royals are called into Sandringham's drawing room, where they have a 'holy evening' of gift giving and view the gifts as the 'jokier the better', the documentary revealed.

Over the years, the Queen has received a 'Big Mouth Billie Bass' the comical singing fish that hangs on walls, as well as a washing up apron as gifts from her family.

Sports Personality Of The Year 2019 - Princess Anne presents Doddie Weir with the Helen Rollason Award

BURSTING WITH PERSONALITIES Sir Chris Hoy and Doddie Weir attend SPOTY 2019 as cricketer Ben Stokes scoops main prize

A HOST of top stars descended on Aberdeen to celebrate the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

Olympic cycling hero Sir Chris Hoy and Rangers icon Paul Gascoigne were in the audience as host Gary Lineker introduced Ben Stokes as the 'main award winner' of this year's Sports Personality of the Year show - an hour before the cricketer was crowned and before voting had even started.

True, true, true.

Megan has friends and family, too.

IMHO, she has all the time in the world to spend sunny SoCal days with her friends and family, and they would all understand if she chose to stay in UK for the holiday.

I think having a Christmas at Sandringham with the collective Royal Family is a privilege and honor that few other people on earth get to have. I'd not want to miss out on any time for me and my son with them all.

But that's just how I see it, knowing nothing at all about their marriage and their plans.

The cancellation of her engagement party was sad and bothersome.

“Prince William
has revealed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte ask him about the homeless people they see on the way to school and wonder 'why can't they go home?'.

The Duke of Cambridge, 37, was speaking to Mary Berry for her Christmas special A Berry Royal Christmas, which will air this evening.

In a teaser clip released on the Kensington Royal Twitter account, Prince William opened up about his children, admitting they don't understand why people are sleeping on the streets.

The young royals, six and four, see rough sleepers on the way to their school Thomas's Battersea and are full of questions, said William.”

'Why can't they go home?' Prince William reveals George and Charlotte ask him about homeless people | Daily Mail Online

I am glad the young royals are finding out about people who are much less fortunate than they are. It must be difficult to explain to them about homelessness given the circumstances and surroundings they are growing up in.

Thank you for donating to help a homeless person have a Christmas dinner @CoverMeCagney I just can’t enjoy Christmas without helping people and animals in need where I live it doesn’t feel right. I know not everyone can help but if anyone can even some spare change makes a difference where you live.

Now Prince Charles wades into the tea debate! Aide reveals royal adds milk AFTER tea has been poured (but at least he didn't leave the bag in like Boris Johnson)
A member of Prince Charles' hospitality staff has offered a regal opinion on the ongoing debate on whether tea or milk should come first when enjoying a brew. It appears the Prince of Wales has a strong opinion on what makes the perfect cuppa, with the 71-year-old royal apparently giving staff at Dumfries House, in Scotland, strict instructions when preparing his hot beverages.
22264376-7794269-image-a-5_1576407499406.jpg
Hospitality manager at the 2,000-acre stately home, Evan Samson, 27, told The Times, that while sugar or organic honey can be added before you pour - milk should only ever be added last before taking out the teabag.

Samson's is the latest voice in the 'milk or tea first' argument, which hit the headlines again last month when Boris Johnson sparked fury on social media for pouring milk into his tea first - and then keeping the teabag in the cup for a lengthy period.
