Fancy being neighbours with Princess Anne? Cottage close to the royal's Gloucestershire estate goes up for auction - with a starting price of £120,000
 ???
The cottage in Stroud is down the road from Princess Anne's sprawling Gatcombe Park residence, meaning the Princess Royal would be your neighbour

According to the listing, the three-storey period property boasts many original features.

As well as the ground floor living room and kitchen, there's an en-suite bedroom on the first floor and an additional bedroom on the second floor.

As well as having Princess Anne on your doorstep, the home is only around seven miles from Highgrove House - the family residence of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, near Tetbury :)

In 2013, Zara and her husband Mike Tindall returned to live on the estate :pafter selling their house in Cheltenham.

Pretty cool neighbours :D

But there's gotta be a huge catch for that price?
You'd be lucky to rent a half-decent small flat in London for that sort of ££....a year!

Duchess of Cornwall's son reveals his mother Camilla would be up at 6AM 'swearing at the turkey in the AGA' when she used to cook Christmas dinner for her family

Londoner Tom Parker Bowles, 44, the eldest son of Camilla and her ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles revealed his festive memories were peppered with his mother and aunt swearing as they worked their magic in the kitchen.

In an interview with Town and Country, the food critic and author said: '[I remember] my mother and aunt waking up and kicking a turkey into an Aga, which is a sort of always-on English cooking thing that you have in the country.

The royals also take part in the German tradition of sharing gifts on Christmas Eve, a tradition started by Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert...

But rather than the grand gifts you might expect the royal family gifting each other, they in fact compete to buy one another the tackiest, silliest gifts.

At 6pm precisely the royals are called into Sandringham's drawing room, where they have a 'holy evening' of gift giving and view the gifts as the 'jokier the better', the documentary revealed.

Over the years, the Queen has received a 'Big Mouth Billie Bass' the comical singing fish that hangs on walls, as well as a washing up apron as gifts from her family.

15 Years ago I wouldn't have been very charitable about Camilla, or Charles, for that matter for the situation with Dianna and the affair that Charles and Camilla carried on.

However, a bit older now and seeing the relationship between Charles and Camilla give him stability, I've changed my tune.

Charles has grown into his maturity (especially as he sounded like a real jerk when he was a young man). An Camilla is eminently relatable.

Also, I agree completely with Charles about tea with milk. Pour the tea, then add the milk.

From April 2015

Camilla has won us over, and deserves to become Queen

As Charles and Camilla celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary, she has won us all over with her style, substance and support.

The Duchess of Cornwall, was so nervous on the morning of her wedding to the Prince of Wales, 10 years ago tomorrow, that she had to be coaxed out of bed. Who could blame her? Camilla Parker Bowles, as she then was, had surely been one of the most hated women in Britain

...This week, however, a new poll to coincide with their 10th wedding anniversary, shows that most people now believe that Camilla should become Queen when Charles accedes to the throne. Time is a great healer, but it is still an extraordinary achievement to have swayed public opinion so dramatically.

Little by little she has won people over.

The Prince’s enduring love for Camilla and his refusal to give her up at any price had split the nation in two and proved perilously dangerous for the monarchy.
The couple had bided their time but no one knew for sure what the public reaction to their marriage would be – or what the public would make of the woman Diana had called “the Rottweiler”

20050410-012631-pic-902908414.jpg
...Not so. Half an hour later the pavements were suddenly filled with crowds of people chattering excitedly to one another delighted that Charles had finally taken the plunge and wed the woman he had loved for more than 30 years.
the-prince-of-wales-prince-charles-and-the-duchess-of-news-photo-52607914-1562607624.jpg
He looked like the cat who had got the cream; she looked tentative and slightly fragile and was clearly relieved not to have been booed or pelted with bread rolls. The crowds warmed to her.
Camilla-Parker-Bowles-1-1024x754.jpg
:p
That 'WTF is happening?'' look on her face
....It was also crucial to both Charles and Camilla that William and Harry should be happy about the marriage, and that had taken time.

The boys had loved their mother and knew what she thought of Camilla; but equally they could see that their father had been lonely and that this woman lit up his life.
He was more fun to be with when she was around. Their allegiance had inevitably been torn but now they were grown up, they knew that things were never black and white.

ba850b64e7e23ece3c0e6914eebce4b9
And so the marriage – that at one time had seemed unthinkable – finally happened, with William and Tom Parker Bowles, Camilla’s son, acting as witnesses.

Camilla got it just right that day, and has been getting it right ever since. She had no ambition to be a princess or duchess or even queen; she simply wanted to be with, and support, the Prince of Wales. Their marriage has given him a new lease of life.

That’s a bargain. Needs a lot of work. Actually, a dream for a young architect, builder, designer. I love the deep windows. One always wonders how old things like the electrical are. And the kitchen and bathrooms need to be thrown out! Complete start over. The location, beautiful countryside, and neighbors, and median price of other properties, I think it could be an amazing investment.

Here is a three-minute clip from tonight's "A Berry Royal Christmas". For those of us outside the BBC One viewing area seeing it remains a challenge. Jennifer in Canada said she was able to watch it while it was live on Filmontv.

it would be a dream to redo it. I hope there will be some “after” pictures.

I do wonder who came up with the ideas for the bathrooms and kitchen. They look like what is done with people on a severe budget

Well, they have a small child now and very much aging great-grandparents who might not be in next year's Christmas pictures. And engaging with Prince Charles and Camilla sounds like fun. I think he'd be hilarious after a couple of tipples. It doesn't sound at all like this is "grey, cold, formal, rules, traditions". If anything, it has the warmth and personality of The Queen and Prince Philip. They both come off as having a rather modest style having come of age in WWII and both serving in the military, seeing their nation in great hardship and danger, respectful of their duties to the public.

I thought everyone got together with family for Christmas, as it is a religious and family time, then went on their sunny warm holidays after the New Year.

It seems to me, IMHO, that Megan is still early enough in her relationships with the Royal Family that she still needs to be there for these large private gatherings to respect and participate with these people. And bring Doria with her for support!

And, I think they are nuts having Archie miss out on this holiday at Sandringham.
Does anyone know if this is the year the Cambridges are at Sandringham or with her family? Perhaps they are wanting to be on the same schedule.

I’m guessing the catch may be the state of repair? It looks like it’s been abandoned for years :( .

Coming back after seeing the rest of the pictures to ponder how a 3 story house with what appears to be a huge footprint only have 2 bedrooms and such a small kitchen? What kind of rooms are using up all that square footage?

It's in Probate ;)

It looks like it's in mid-renovation. Freshly plastered, painted walls & ceilings, skylights, laminate, sockets & the plumbers just been welding those pipes :p etc.
So I think the 'attic' has been recently converted into an extra bedroom.

Kitchen, bathroom look semi ripped-out.
Either it could be basic updates to sell (but why bother only to auction it off for a pittance of it's potential value?) or the 'estate benefactor' began the renovation but has given up for some reason?

Basically the only work it really needs doing is mainly 'cosmetic' - a place that size wouldn't cost much to completely rip out & replace the entire bathroom, kitchen!

Roof is fine ;) New skylights have been fitted & interior has been plastered, painted...
It's mid-terrace, it's in the same condition as the rest (consistent tiling the full length along row)

Do you mean the area of 'land' it's built on?
It's only a tiny cottage - basically 1 (big) room width
(approx. 8m x 4.5m X3 :D )

The garden looks quite large thou

Prince George and Princess Charlotte Will Make Their Royal Christmas Debut at Sandringham

Even though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are skipping Sandringham festivities with the royals this year, there could be two very special additions for a big part of the holiday traditions.

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s two oldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will be joining the rest of the royal family at church for the first time this year...

While Prince William and Kate do bring their children to Anmer Hall, their Sandringham country home, none of their kids have ever accompanied their parents to services. But now that Prince George is six and Princess Charlotte is four, that’s all changing.

Now Prince Charles wades into the tea debate! Aide reveals royal adds milk AFTER tea has been poured (but at least he didn't leave the bag in like Boris Johnson)
A member of Prince Charles' hospitality staff has offered a regal opinion on the ongoing debate on whether tea or milk should come first when enjoying a brew. It appears the Prince of Wales has a strong opinion on what makes the perfect cuppa, with the 71-year-old royal apparently giving staff at Dumfries House, in Scotland, strict instructions when preparing his hot beverages.
22264376-7794269-image-a-5_1576407499406.jpg
Hospitality manager at the 2,000-acre stately home, Evan Samson, 27, told The Times, that while sugar or organic honey can be added before you pour - milk should only ever be added last before taking out the teabag.

Samson's is the latest voice in the 'milk or tea first' argument, which hit the headlines again last month when Boris Johnson sparked fury on social media for pouring milk into his tea first - and then keeping the teabag in the cup for a lengthy period.

Anybody that puts milk in tea first then the tea should get life without parole.
