Imagine the restrictions that MM will place on teachers and other staff at whatever school they choose for Master Archie.

Its going to be interesting to see where they choose. You would think the same school that the Cambridge children go to would be ideal, everyone already vetted, parents and children familiar with extra security and would cut down on security costs etc. but given they live in Windsor it would be an hour in normal traffic and probably 2 hours + in rush hour traffic. They can't exactly move back to Kensington when he starts school given what the tax payer paid for the renovations of Frogmore.

They must have really hated living in KP to give it up for Frogmore, it must be such a hassle, given the majority of the events they attend are in London.

With the constant and relentless Meghan and Harry bashing, this thread is no longer the refuge from crime and violence that made it a happy haven here on WS. It’s now an angry and strident thread that lovely tiaras and tartans and positive stories can’t overcome. Thank you to those who try.

And thank you, human, for pointing out (among other things) that the criticism of Meghan’s casual clothing choice could also be applied to Catherine. Hypocrisy much? I join you in spirit, but I don’t have the energy to argue, and reasoning on the subject won’t do any good anyway.

Go back and read the recent posts. I no longer see light-hearted wardrobe and hair critiques. Meghan has become a target of hate...yes hate...for reasons far removed from her “missteps”...it’s ugly, it imitates her sister and father, and she doesn’t deserve the venom being spewed in the press and brought here. I honestly don’t know how those promoting this agenda can imagine that they are doing anything positive. Is viciously tearing someone down a worthy activity that makes a positive contribution? Is that what this thread has become? I hope not.

Those of us that have had a close association with a narcissist and gotten away from them can spot one from a mile away and want to warn friends or associates about their behavior and the emotional destruction they cause.

I see Megan Markle as having the characteristics of a narcissist and I truly do fear for the damage her personality disorder will inflict upon the royal family and their public persona

There, I said it.

Now back to Tiaras and Tartans

The Duke of Cambridge has flown Economy on EasyJet before and the family has flown commercial on British Airways to go the Caribbean and on state visits in the past. They may have flown on private jets before I don’t recall. The thing I like about the Cambridges is that they seem to want to blend in with everyone else and act normal they don’t make a spectacle of themselves and want a song and dance everywhere they go.

Do you think Harry and Meghan choose to be in the spotlight? Diana sure did not.

They have asked for privacy but it is not to be

The Duchess of Sussex is 'not wasting time' on the public row over her private jet use, royal sources have claimed.

Meghan Markle, 38, and Prince Harry, 34, who have been vocal on environmental issues and recently urged their Instagram followers to do 'their little bit of good', provoked outrage and were branded 'hypocrites' for flying on gas-guzzling private planes four times in 11 days this month.

However sources told Katie Nicholl at Vanity Fair that the Duchess is 'moving on and riding above the storm' and is instead focused on 'bigger things' like the launch of her new charity clothing range for Smart Works.

Meghan Markle is 'riding above' the private jet storm, royal sources claim | Daily Mail Online

It is going to be interesting to see if anything changes with their future travel plans.

Stupid response. They should have said something about it was so foolish or something more professional in terms of the flights.

Privilege does not always think . So it should have been addressed

They could have driven? Train?

Recalling how Diana was pursued in a vehicle in Paris, I don't think driving from London to Balmoral would be safe for members of the RF. Traffic in and around the outskirts of London is horrendous - maybe worse than New York City or Los Angeles. DH and I spent three nights in a private home several miles outside London and rode the train in each day even though we had a rental car. Our hosts told us that driving to London and around the city wasn't a good idea and that driving to the nearby train station and parking there was our best bet. It would probably be dangerous for members of the RF to be on much-traveled roads in and around London.

Bbm, no they don’t have their own clothing line. And this is where the rub is.

And this is where I have a problem, too.

I’m very supportive of those businesses that recycle. It’s the environment, baby.

Why do we need a clothing line when there are reems and wads, and piles of used recycling? In the landfills? Including clothing?

Seems out of touch, but moreover it seems out of touch with the future.

I worked with people in poverty. Of course, in the US.

One of the women was going for a job interview. I went and bought her a cute coral colored blazer and a white simple top to wear underneath the blazer.

She got the job.

Yes, there are tons of used ugly clothing out there. It is bad enough that these women have no self confidence, but then they have to pick through discards for something to wear? Um, no.

Who would do that?I did, though. When I was ultra thin, I wore a dress I got for 50 cents at a rummage sale, but I accessorized it with a one carat cubic zirconia ring. I knew that in order to get a job, one must feel confident and not needy.

Meghan is using her special clout to help others.

Advertising the cupcakes the bakery made is not a donation in a bucket . It is honoring their work.

They seem to drive their children to school themselves most mornings (I'm sure with security discretely nearby but no motorcade) that would be a much more predictable route if someone wanted to do something than a trip to Scotland no one knew about in advance.

Though its an awfully long drive/train to Scotland when you have small children, if I was them I'd definitely fly

Thank you for explaining and owning where you are coming from. I have utmost empathy for anyone who has escaped from a narcissist and/or has been damaged by one. My own mother and father moved across the country when I was two to get away from her narcissistic father.

I know a fair amount about narcissists from reading, not experience, so I can’t “diagnose” Meghan. You could be right or wrong. But if she is one, Harry will have to learn the hard way. He may have been warned and didn’t listen. Who knows?

I certainly don’t expect everyone on the thread to love or even like Meghan, but if we can tone down the negativity and not view every move she makes as a symptom of narcissism and reason to bash her, the thread would be more enjoyable...for me anyway. :)

IIRC, the school that the Cambridge children attend is just a short drive from Kensington Palace. The school has multiple campuses, and the branch they attend is very close to their home.

Do you think Harry and Meghan choose to be in the spotlight? Diana sure did not.

Harry, no but Meghan, yes. Diana, yes too but was awfully young. If you look at Harrys other serious girlfriends like Chelsey Davy or Cressida Bonas the stories were that they broke up because they couldn't handle the pressure.

I'm not judging Meghan for choosing the spotlight, you only have to look at the videos of Kate Middleton being papped when she and William were dating to say that she chose the spotlight too. Neither Meghan or Kate were young or naive like Diana, they knew what they were marrying into the spotlight.

But Andrew. Now that is someone to interrogate.
Yes but I feel like its all being swept away. The young womens credibility is being chipped away piece by piece for not being perfect witnesses. The only way its sticking is if someone like Ghislaine Maxwell does a plea deal or they find records or video

I’m genuinely sorry Lilibet and regret you no longer feel this thead is a respite from the immense tragedy on the forum. I can understand why you feel this way. Please know I have no agenda when it comes to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. I have a great deal of respect for the Sussex family but do not agree with how they are handling some aspects of public life.

This is the royal thread where we post news articles and posts of our own about the British royal family and discuss them. Unfortunately we can’t only post positive news articles about them all the time as that is not a true reflection of what is happening.

We have tried to limit the negativity here for example we have tried to only discuss the association with Prince Andrew and Epstein on that thread. Please know I have taken your criticism onboard and will carefully consider whether or not to post critical articles in future especially if they have already been discussed at length.

I was raised by a Scottish mother who was a very good cook, but really excelled at lovely cakes , pies, trifles. The names Victoria Sponge, Dundee Cake, Eve’s Pudding, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Plum Pudding, Blanc Mange, Bird’s Custard, Lyles Golden Syrup, Meringue all turn me into Pavlov’s dog.

So as I crunch my Trader Joes kale salad and edamame I console myself with thought that the calories I spare now can be used on those scrumptions pink confections at Peggy Porshen...

Thanks for your response, Greg. Please know that in no way do I want to stifle what people post. Criticism has always been part of the thread, and I’ve done my share. :)

But I do feel that the press goes overboard in imputing bad motives to Meghan and it lands here as a result. So many articles use the term “sources say” and we have no idea who those sources are or if they exist. Sometimes it’s assumed that Meghan actually said or did things that are reported...and she’s criticized for it. But was it really just “sources” responsible for the rumor? Do we “know” that Meghan has asked her friends to defend her or that she really wanted a clear space at Wimbledon? My hope would be that we on the thread don’t allow ourselves to be manipulated by the press. I think that’s good for us all to be aware of.

I’m as disappointed as everyone that Archie is invisible, but I’m not going to pretend that I know why and that there’s definitely some negative reason. There could be, but why assume? I still want to be hired (along with the entire thread) as Meghan’s stylist. But I guess that ship has sailed. :D

Meghan is still finding her way from Hollywood and America to life as a Royal. That’s a huge leap and I expect her to make mistakes along the way to finding her niche. Personally, I like the work she does behind the scenes, like the cookbook and the work clothing. I think her heart is in the right place, although others don’t. And that’s OK. But I just hope we can stick more to what is true or observable and not just have an automatically negative reaction.

And that’s all I have to say...quite enough! Carry on. :)

P.S. If you’re all reeeeeallly good, I will tell you about my great-great grandfather who made a few pieces of jewelry for Queen Victoria. ;)
