I looked up the attribution of the Canada walk in the park photos of Meghan with Archie and the dogs. It says Splash News/Backgrid

So I looked up their websites. JMO but they look a lot like many of their photos are taken by papparazzi who then sell to these organizations that act as a middleman/sales organization to sell to hundreds of media outlets/magazines etc across the world. So the photographer would get a fee for the sale of the photos, and then these places would go to somewhere like the DM and say you can use this photo for $5000 or whatever (I made the figure up for an example).

I love watching Royal weddings. I think Bea will make a beautiful bride. Both her mother and sister chose beautiful dresses for their weddings, and I think Bea will choose something elegant and beautiful.

We should start accounting for all the guesses that will be made about what type of dress she will wear. I need some time to think about it. I already know what I'd LIKE to see her in. :p But I'm not sure what she will actually go for. I did love Eugenie's dress but come on - they are known for their slightly offbeat fashion, I want her to go for something different!

There are a lot more pictures and video on the DM. It looks like paps hiding behind a car!

Good catch! Well how on earth would they know the exact tree to be in? Her guards are not concerned. One was on his phone, that I could see on Inside Edition.

after watching it again, I’m still clueless. I guess hiding behind a car makes more sense. MM did not walk to the trail, imo. I believe it is a couple mi from her rental house. So maybe a car followed her security team as they drove?

The photos look like ones I take through a window...maybe the photographer was in a car and took the photos from behind the window? Though I'm not sure why they wouldn't wind the window down? But in my opinion the quality of the photos definitely suggests it's been taken through a window....and if they were hiding behind a car, they might have taken them through both windows of the car (on each side) because they're very grainy with what I consider a window effect.

Okay, not a tree, but that was a bit tongue in cheek to say that they have been known to hide in all sorts of places to get 'the' shot. It's what a photographer does, whether they're taking papparazzi shots or wildlife shots.

Hopefully a professional photographer will do an expose' on how they think this whole thing went down. I'm super curious.

They have paparazzi in Canada?
That's going to be disappointing for them, eh?

Unethical and kind of reeks of entitlement really. Can’t have everything. And security should not be paid for by the taxpayers either, imo.

When they registered the name originally they were still fully *in* the Royal family, and according to their statement of intentions they were hoping to find a kind of part-time Royals compromise.

They were not as grainy on Inside Edition. Idk why.....

Yes, some of the shots look like they are at her level, but the further away shots look like they are taken from above her. I can't figure it out.

You can see the distance some of the footage was taken from, and the way Meghan's looking around and smiling, not simply smiling at a relatively close-by camera as some of the images made it look like. That would appear to be a false effect.

I see what you mean about it appearing one of the photographers was up a tree....I was joking when I said that and when you repeated it I thought it was a dig at my stupid suggestion!

The still shots, I still think look like they've been taken through at least one glass window...the quality is terrible, and as I said I see that effect happen when I shoot through windows, and it's not normally that bad an effect for me even through double glazing.

I understand. But that is now no longer the case. To be fully financially independent means the should not benefit at all from it. They’re already making $ on the whole story. They’re not young: they should be very grateful Charles is giving them money. Acting pays well

He looks like he is sliding sideways with his face smushed into her chest... I have never used one of these carriers, is it even done up properly?

No.

I think it would be a good idea to change the name of it now, but when the name was chosen they were HRH Royals, and I don't believe they intended to use the brand to sell mugs and socks with their logo on them, I think the attorneys were just making sure they could cover anything and everything in case of attempted trademark infringements.

What they will actually call it and do with it remains to be seen. But I hope they will do some good with it and not just use it to make money for themselves.

Oooooo if you really want to feel old, ran into this via a link posted up thread
The Best Paparazzi Moments from the '90s

There is at least one pic of Princess Di, so it’s on topic ;)

those were the days.... :)

ETA. My late 20s yr old daughter LOVES the American Eagle mom jean style. Lmao. Who ever thought those would need to make a comeback

This brought back memories of elementary :D

I got distracted with the hat article linked to the page you linked.
It says "best hats", but I would have chosen very different hats worn by the royals for this list.

@Sherwood Park These are my favorites! That tassle is FIERCE. You need a lot of confidence to pull it off.
