The case for murder

The end of the orange-red braided marine towing rope which formed a noose around Ms. Zahau's neck, was anchored using a slip knot to a leg of the bed in her room. As someone has pointed out to us, there is a measurement showing the initial imprint of the bed leg, and the distance that it was moved, allegedly as a result of the weight of Ms. Zahau's body, when she allegedly hung herself.

If the bed's leg did in fact move, it would have been dragged across the carpet, leaving a skid mark or trail in the nap of the rug. In the photo, there is no sign of such a disturbance.

Don't know if this was posted before but thought this detail was interesting. How did the bed move without making drag marks on the rug?

Wow great point!!

Please read this article. I didn't know where to post it, but when reading it, I cemented my belief even deeper within me that this is a murder.

The article is dramatized, not every fact was correct, there is a lot of information that would explain a lot of things, if the author is being truthful.

Mainly it paints a beautiful picture of the person that Rebecca was.

Let me know what you think please. I almost posted this in the 'arguments for suicide thread', as it seems to make the idea harder to accept.

Coronado Patch has more on Joan Kron, who wrote above story. She has written hundreds of articles on Restylane, Jonah Shacknai's company product. Seems to be in bed with Sitrick or Medicis or both.

From the daily beast article:

She’s a beautiful girl, and she had this disturbing raised prominence on her upper right forehead.

Great information CalElliot. When I first read it last night, I thought of the checklist of important info to cover for some inside parties:

1 - Show that Rebecca and Jonah were happy: Check.
Defray any thoughts that would make their relationship look sketchy.

2 - Show that the other children weren't there at the accident: Check.
Have a published source making this appear to be fact.

3 - Show that Rebecca tried to save Max: Check.
Remove any thoughts that the S family held Rebecca responsible for Max.

4 - Show that Max was by himself when the accident occurred: Check.
Reinforce that other children were not there and publicly take away blame from Rebecca so there would be no motive for Rebecca's murder.

5 - Show that Adam's presence was normal at the house: Check.
Adam always bunked in the guest house so nothing hinky there.

6 - Show that Rebecca came into Jonah's life after Dina: Check.
Paint a picture of no filandering.

7 - Show that the article presents both sides so it doesn't look like a Sitrick plant: Check.
Gives both sides to the story including a beautiful portrait of Rebecca.

Call me a :sick:cynic but that is how I read the article. Its transparency for me struck me immediately that there had to be a connection to the PR firm.

Valhall (Hinky Meter) has theorized that the bed possibly hopped from it's original position to where it landed when the rope jerked @ the end of the drop, thereby leaving no drag mark. It makes sense to me.

It also has the setup about the "shocking phone call" that references RZ shoplifting incident. Would like to see the source on that.

Her sources mostly an old Shacknai lawyer pal and MZL. So far, of national news sites seems CBS doing best reporting on this. Let's hope Nightline can shed some new light tonite (earlier ABC said door sign was "spraypainted." Sheesh).

Haven't read the article yet, but the background you provided is making me feel ill!

Why does that sound like we are back to the Vampire movie theme again - ACK!

And, why would someone write this way about knowing how Rebecca's family must be hurting.

No joke. Have commented on this before. Not to get off subject, but at times murder scene comes across as staged by kids into Twilight and Wiccan... the red blanket, the red dog bone, the red rope, the candle, the black paint, the message, the moon, the drama. The random thing seems the blue shirt. As some have speculated, maybe she was wearing it.

I thought these comments were insightful when you posted them before. I don't believe it's someone who is into Wicca, but may have seen some stuff about symbols or some story or something.

Google the words left on the door and you will see some similar sayings in storylines (on youtube, I believe and I believe it anime stuff?)

IMO this Daily Beast article was very strategic in the subjects it covered with a purpose to each point being made.

Mentioning the 'disturbing raised prominence on her upper right forehead' has me scratching my head. I think this is going to lead somewhere as things shake out further. Not sure what yet.

From the daily beast article:

She’s a beautiful girl, and she had this disturbing raised prominence on her upper right forehead.

From the AR, page 12:

On the right upper forehead, just past the hairline, there is a 1/4 inch red abrasion.

https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&...TItOWM1Mi00NGE4LWEyZDgtMjc3OWUxZTYzYmY5&hl=en

Perhaps the 1/4 inch red abrasion on RZ's forehead was more than an abrasion. IDK

If someone truly observed a "raised prominence" on her upper right forehead @ her funeral viewing, I'm wondering why the "raised prominence" wasn't noted in the AR, as a "raised prominence" (aka "bump on the head") is not something that develops postmortem (as far as I'm aware). I think a bump on the head would be something that would have developed antemortem, or at the very least, in the minutes immediately prior to death.

Thank you for looking that up in the AR! I have difficulty with this part of the crime sleuthing on autopsies, etc.

The oddity to me is that it was a part of the article at all. I guess it could simply have been giving more subject matter to Rebecca's family in the article so that it seemed "balanced" for all families. It hits me really funny.

Not to be morbid at all but doesn't the cosmetic touching up usually take care of these kinds of things so that the deceased looks as normal as possible? And do you think it is not consistent with the AR?

It is really interesting to look at the Sitrick and Co website and what they are known for...and the date hired by JS. Interesting to me that he would feel it necessary to hire them while grieving his son and possibly during normal sitting Shiva time for his son.

Shiva begins from the day the deceased dies, which counts as day one. It lasts for seven days, hence the word "shiva". It is wrong of you to infer JS hired a PR firm during shiva unless you have proof.

I believe AR only indicated small scratches on her forehead, not a "raised prominence."

Other thoughts...

If party was in the works for Tuesday and canceled on Monday, who canceled it? And who was invited in the first place? Why no calls on Rebecca Zahau's phone related to the party?

If Jonah Shacknai made irrevocable trust for his children on June 10, does not Dina Shacknai stand to inherit half of Max's trustfund? If not, where does his estate go?

Also, Cynic I see you are online right now. Thanks for great questions last night. Hope Nightline has some new insights to share tonight.
