These days I'm leaning toward a friend of JAR's. I go back and forth on this case. The clues, IMO, can support RDI and IDI. But the one thing I really, truly believe without a doubt is that JonBenét knew her killer. The comment about the secret visit from Santa sticks with me. And I think it's the only way to explain the pineapple.

Like you I waiver back and forth between theories. I do think the pineapple could be explained by JonBenet getting up in the night. If the Ramseys originally said they were all asleep, they have to stick with that. They may have known she had pineapple. One of them may have let her get it and been with her when she ate it.
I did notice in the NE Police book that JR says JonBenet was in a deep sleep. He says it was not very graceful getting her out of the car yet she stayed asleep. She stayed asleep even when her shirt was changed. Could she have been drugged by something that can't be detected after death like GHB?
Though I think PR has lied and likely covering things up, I still question if someone at the party knew the family would be in bed early due to their early flight. Could they have drugged her right before she left the party? Could JR or PR have drugged her to abuse her and insure she would not remember what happened?

You know, I wish there was more information available about that party, i.e. who was there. I also have never seen a picture from that party, though I heard there were some out there. If anyone knows where, I'd appreciate it if you'd share.

I also wonder about the Ramsey party on the 23rd- exactly who all attended that one?

There are no pictures from the White's party. They weren't released to the public.
At the Christmas party on the 23rd there was the Barnhill's, the Stine's, the White's, Priscilla's White's parents, the Mc Christmas's, LHP and her daughter Ariana.
I think the White's friends from California were there as well.
Was anyone else there does anyone know??

Although I go back and forth all the time about intruder vs. family, I kind of believe what you do about Burke accidentally or not accidentally killing JB. Although, do you ever think that there is something suspicious about Fleet White's strange behavior? I wonder if they ever checked him out?? Did he have an alibi that night? Could he have slipped out of the house without his wife knowing and pulled this off?

This fact is one that has always intrugued me. What I wonder is, did the person who struck Jonbenet know there would be no marks on the outside? Was it someone who knew just the right amount of force and what weapon to use to acomplish that? Or was that person shocked that nothing showed after the strike? I've always wondered about this.

The lack of blood could be because the cracked skull was done post mortem. Also on the autopsy report Dr Meyer states that there is "an extensive area of scalp hemorrage" (he also states it's upon "reflection" not retraction, or resection of the scalp). Scalp, not cranial or sub-cranial. IOW the purple bruise was apparently evident, but just not seen until closer examination (ie the autopsy). It was on the right side of her head. Her head was turned to the right and she was lying on her back when first seen by him at the house. He did a cursory exam at that time and did not notice it. The way her hair was banded (into a pony tail on top) could also have hidden the bruise until the hair was removed from the bands during the autopsy when he went to remove her brain.

One scenario that I've thought about is that JB was strangled and as soon as she died she was dropped/let go (perp could have just stepped back and let her fall), fell back and landed on her head against something that caused the crack and allowed any blood that was in her head to seep into her cranium and scalp. That would account for how her arms were positioned upwards and the liver mortis patterns. I believe she died where she fell and that was in that little basement room.

Did JonBenet not get something she requested and go to that room to look for that present? There is no proof that the room was secured so she couldn't get into it. She would have known about that room too. Or was she lured there with the promise of a present that was accidentally "forgotten", but something she really wanted?

I believe she was with someone she trusted implicitly, not some stranger. I don't believe anyone she didn't know broke into the house without leaving some evidence of who they are behind either. I don't believe the foreign (to JonBenet) DNA is part of this case at all. If it were from the perp there would have been more of it IMO. She did not scratch her attacker. Having minute DNA (not even enough to get the needed code string markers) under her nails would imply she had a lot of contact with this person, but didn't necessarily scratch him/her.

It could be that the apparent minor loss of blood is explainable in itself and the garrote was applied as staging only.

Perhaps there was strangulation either manually or with something else and then the head trauma; the garrotte was only applied in order to cover up the strangulation markings?
