The Crime Scene and Investigation

Issues such as when Sievers decided to come home from a Connecticut family gathering a day before her husband and two daughters are germane to the investigation, Scott said.

The fact that the timing of the decision is germane to the investigation is important, imho. There have been ideas tossed about that maybe CWW & JR were in the home for some other criminal reason, were surprised by TS, and ultimately killed her to silence her. If this were the case, then I don't think the timing of the decision would be germane.

I always considered the perps being surprised by TS a long shot, but I think it is completely off my list of possibilities now. JMO, MOO...

Hmmmm...there's that pesky envelope again.

http://www.news-press.com/story/new...ers-murder-envelope-suspicion-broad/72004168/

Sheriff said suspicion in a case like this, in which the identity of the person or persons responsible for a homicide is not clear, detectives cast the net wide for suspects as well as witnesses.

"Who would I expect to know more," he said. "A wife, brother, close associate? That's where we go with this."

The sheriff said the ongoing investigation has not rejected any explanations and theories. "It would be premature to rule anything out," he said.
Nobody has escaped that "envelope of suspicion," Scott said, with the net cast as close as her husband. "Husband, wife, children, brother, sister, immediate friends, close family friends and business associates," he said, are all in the envelope when investigating a homicide.

Dr. Teresa Sievers' trip home June 28 — the day before she was found murdered in her Bonita Springs home — was not spur of the moment but rather planned to get back to work the next day.
"That's not a real spontaneous thing. It was planned," Sheriff MIke Scott said during an interview with The News-Press on Thursday.
The family knew as early as March that Sievers would be leaving early, said Annie Lisa, Teresa Sievers' sister.

So, her step-brother just happened to die and have a funeral during a planned trip? Am I understanding this correctly?

Yes and it happens more than you think. I planned a 3 month trip to sort out some matters with my 'littles'. During that time my dad was diagnosed with and died of cancer, I was able to spend lots of times with him. This was in 2010.

However, I extended my visit by a month to help my Mum navigate some procedures. I think there had to be a contact (call/email) with the perps to ensure they knew any plan was able to proceed.

Sievers' family friend sheds new light on home's security system

For the first time, we heard from a woman who has known Teresa's husband, Mark Sievers, for more than 20 years. She says she spoke with him a week and a half after Teresa was killed.

The woman revealed new clues about how the killer or killers may have gotten into the Bonita Springs home, where Teresa was found dead in June.

Lifka says Wright used to do IT work for her son's business, and that Wright has known Mark Sievers since grade school.
She described a conversation her son had with Mark Sievers via email about Teresa's death.
"I know Todd said to Mark, 'For God sakes Mark, did you not have a security system?'" said Lifka.
Lifka says Mark Sievers expressed concern that his mother, who was checking on the home while the Sievers family vacationed in Connecticut, had somehow disarmed the system.
"He said to Todd, 'I am so concerned that maybe she didn't put that alarm back on,'" said Lifka.

Sheriff: Arrests in Bonita Springs doctor's killing were planned ‘for weeks and weeks'

"We had known that was going to happen for weeks and weeks ahead of time," he (SMS) said in an interview Friday.
...
"I literally took a call on this case earlier today," he said. "There's a lot of, as I've said, moving parts, angles, twists and turns as it continues to unfold."
...
Scott did confirm there was forced entry into the home, saying he believed most people had seen the TV footage of a door with "really significant pry marks" being carried away from the scene.
...
The sheriff was able to discredit a neighbor's story that Wright and his wife had been taken into custody for three days in Missouri following a raid on Wright's trailer July 12.

Hope MS is not throwing his mother under the bus with that comment. CWW and JR would have known there was a security system. ANd yet they still felt safe breaking in? Not buying it. The poor woman must be devastated to think she may have inadvertently let the killers in. I hope for her sake they are able to prove otherwise!

So CWW was planning a wedding and a murder. And JR learns he is going to be a father and at the same time decides to take the life of a mother.

Unbelievable when we look at these realities. There had to be a manipulator/psychopath mastermind pulling all the puppet strings.

Blaming Mom. A telling clue to MS personality.

So Mom was 'taking care of the house' but not the dogs? I thought a teenager was taking care of the dogs, so why exactly did MS's mom need access to the house?

'As the investigation continues, Scott said his agency has been in touch with Sievers’ two young daughters to check and see how they are doing.

“We certainly want to make sure they are OK, and we believe they are,” he said.'

That says it all, doesn't it.. wine and crackers my friends, wine and crackers

Or could it be he was just talking honestly to a very close friend not realizing it would end up in the news? I'm still not sure what side of the fence I'm on....

I believe the referenced news tidbit "Scott said his agency has been in touch with Sievers' two young daughters to check and see how they are doing" likely means MS is cooperating with LCSO on some level because he would have to agree with this contact ("in touch with Sievers' two young daughters") since there has been no mention of FL DCF involvement.

Do you guys really think LE would leave the girls with MS if they thought he was the mastermind of their mother's murder? After the news articles released today my feet (or at least one) is hanging on the MS is innocent side of the fence.

Until he is arrested or formally charged, DCF has no basis to intervene. Suspicion of a crime (unrelated to child) isn't enough to remove them from their natural parent. I don't think MS has a criminal record. LE hands would be tied. They could, however, watch closely to reassure themselves that the girls are safe.
