The Crockpot - Case Related

Me too. Just think about how some of those detectives feel. Working day after day with so few clues and limited funds. It must be pretty depressing.

With all due respects, but those poor detectives are getting rich with the overtime the got on this case. You don't know what frustration is. I will always remember a NCPD detective that came to me for information on a murder case of a drug dealer. He mentions he got 500 hours OT and still going like the Energizer Bunny. 500 HOURS! My highest year of 10 in homicide was 500 hous - and that was when we had 300 homicides in our jurisdiction. They put me on the NO OT list. We get three civilian homicides in one night. All the detectives are working on the first two. Nobody to go to the 3rd. I had to stay in the office.

Remember, my friend that these are the same detectives that refused to pick up their phones when Lucero got killed. They were sad they had their 2HR stand-by OT taken away. Hey, every detective should get a chance to make an extra buck while they are sleeping in their bed.

I peek into this thread now and then, I hardly have time myself to look anywhere other than what I am working on, but I have looked enough to keep up a little. You said it when you mentioned how they (detectives)must feel and how they are limited. I think and feel that they must at least have some good leads from what they have discovered and from what have done so far with what they have in the case. I haven't had time to read all of the posts here, but wanted to say that from what I have seen so far, they (detectives) have some good help if they are listening to any of you Guys and Gals. Also it made me think just how badly we as citizens, need to find some of these millionaires and get them to help restore some of the funding for cold case units and for special unit cases like these serial killings. It is frustrating for us sleuthers as well when we know, that any help we have to offer only helps blog down and burden the sytem and only making the gap in times when evidence is found and entered into the forfront of the matter, wider. It would be nice if there was more funding and adequate resources available for our hard working detectives around the nation. I thought I would throw that into the fray. You guys are doing an awesome job on this thread. I really hope one of you is the one who helps nail this guy. Sorry I haven't had any time to aid in the work over in this thread, because I have done alot of research on Long Island and the Phoenix project that occured there on Long island and found it fascinating in a way. I even recently had done this research as well. I always wondered how those experiments affected the future life over there. I always wondered if this Long Island killer was not some guy who was part of or caught up in that mess. It seems that the potential to create killers, insanity, craziness was all there and was on an extreme level.
I don't want to take any further from the thread, but to say you all are awesome and have great hearts and minds when it comes to this discussion. I pray someday we can stop this type of behavior that leads to murder or serial murder and the dumping of beautiful human creatures like they were trash. Only a man (or woman) with no soul could be so wicked that human life meant nothing to them. In a sense, serial killings are terrorism and there should be fundings that kept these cases open and active and constantty looked over. God speed in solving this case. Keep up the great work and thanks to the police involved in these cases. May they all have successful leads and help from above. May some of our wealthy Americans step up and provide funding for cases like this.
There should never be a case that is closed that is not solved. Great work WS'ers. You all have a fantastic thread going over here.

I'm confused (once again) - is the FBI on the LISK case or not? I mean, I see that they supplied equipment in the search for bodies, but also that the Gilbert family has kept demanding that the FBI take the case over. So which is it? The FBI site refers to all sorts of New York cases that they're seeking information on, but nothing about LISK.

This goes out to all of my collegues on this board whether you like me or not. Real important that we remember we have a common goal. To give this guy the needle when they catch him.

If they really searched that highway from RM to Loop Parkway; they would have found alot of stuff they probably did not want to find.

I agree 100%. They would have all sorts of new cases open and/or close. Too much actual work and probably not enough people on staff. Remember if we keep the force understaffed, everyone gets more overtime. =)

Pretty good read. I go see a psychologist, and I started picking his brain about serial killers. He was saying its progressive just like a drug habit. You dont wake up one day and start slamming smack....u gradually build up to it. Just like serial killers dont just wake up one day and dump 4 bodies. Killing is their drug. Alot of serial killers have past addiciton problems. Real interesting stuff. "Maybe one day they kill a cat, they find that fun, next they kill a prostitute, that was pretty cool......lets see if I can kill a lawyer, that was fun...maybe I will go after a big construction guy next" And that is what I am most frightened of. He moves from prostitutes (not diminishing their deaths at all) but what if this guy grabs my mother or my girlfriend or one of my my 6 girl cousins? All of whom are petite pretty women that fit his style.

I don't see him as a 'grabber' snatching women up. IMO he enjoys putting on the BS to gain trust. BUT - as you stated he may change. That scares me as well. Do you think he would use similar dumping habits? This is a good topic to discuss. The 'maturing' of the LISK?

I saw a few weeks back about a guy is LI that attempted to abduct a 14 year-old girl. He was trying to coax her away to question her and the friend of the girl called police, and wham, immediate response. This guy was caught and charged with impersonating a cop and endangering the welfare of a child(the abduction attempt).
Now, It really got me thinking about this. What if, the LISK was also pretending to be not only a cop, but an actual beach patrolman ( I have always believed this one was cop skilled(or pretendong to be a cop))? Maybe the guy they just caught could be the LISK? I am sure they are lookigng into it. I say this because, that is the perfect cover in an area where there are a large number of cops patroling the area. You need to blend in.
I had a hunch that the beach killings all happened near some type of beach patrolled area and that maybe this guy (the actual unidentified Lisk) used this possibly to lure the victim to the area. On one of the maps of where the skulls were dumped, I noticed that there was a place on the map called Tobay Beach Patrol. This set of remains (a skull, teeth) was on county property)from what i read in an article). Is it possible the Lisk was impersonating police, lifegaurds, patrolmen? I just had to toss this in there because that is the guy right now I would be looking at bigtime. Who is that brave to attempt an abduction on LI in the midst of all this going on? Really, this guy has to be a good suspect. JMHO
