Now the next question is... How accurate is the information on the time of that picture? I don't know where the date/timestamp came from, I only stole the pic from another thread.

The picture shows 11:59AM but there are no pings at that time from her cell records.

That's slightly interesting to me.

A cell phone is almost constantly pinging the towers in the area. You do not have to be calling anyone or talking to anyone for there to be a ping. I was told today the only way for it not to ping is to remove the battery. Some phones ping when turned off.

Shadow of my mind,

I am overwhelmed at the research you've done. I agree with treeseeker, this is fascinating information.

I can't help but to think, whatever it is Casey was doing, Lee knew what it was. He could have possibly introduced her to it. He was way too interested in her laptop and was too forward with 'proof' that she had a job by providing the faked emails. It felt too much like he was covering for her then.

If you remember his interview, LE tripped him up about the laptop. He said it was off and he said it was left on. He couldn't get his story straight but he led them to believe the computer had the BSOD.

I found no reason for him to go to Tony's for the sole purpose of collecting Casey's things, yet he made a point to get into that computer, right there, right then. That's something that could have waited till he got home, unless he was trying to get rid of something he didn't want LE to find.

I think this is going to be very important and might just explain more about the blackjack if she was using it for the reason you've uncovered.

ETA: I also want to add that I recall how Casey must have played the switcheroo game on her phone book. I remember Lee calling some of the numbers and they weren't who Casey had them saved as. That could also be what she did with this number.

So what you're saying is we don't have all the pings that LE does? I think I can understand that. We only have our pings because of lng/lat from the calls and texts that we know she made/received.

wow....that's all I can say. Good work researching and finding this info. It will take me all night to process just this. LOL I have from the beginning thought the phone was key, it was just confusing enough to get people argueing over distracting ideas. I am glad someone knows more about than me, cause even knowing something wasn't right, hadn't a clue what it was or how to figure out what it could possibly be. Great job!

That never held much weight with me.

Not that I necessarily believe Kio, but I know many, many men who wouldn't want to release their phone records. It was HIS phone account afterall. Perhaps he was more concerned about Kio seeing his calls, than LE seeing them.

Mistresses, phone sex, drug contacts.

I can think of innumerable reasons a person might not want their records released.

That's what I thought right away when I saw Kio had said he wouldn't release them. If I were her (Kio), I'd be asking him a lot of questions about HIS activities (unrelated to this nightmare)..

DO I think she knew that? Probably not. I think she's cunning but obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed (no pun intended).
I don't know that most folks in the world know much about what is recorded in the telecom world. I'm not saying conversations but calls out and in... JMO.

Also - for those on the wireless side... she was on AT&T. I didn't think they used SIM cards, that switching was all done through ESN. Am I wrong? I know TMobile uses SIM. Please advise.

Cingular used SIM, so part of AT&T must as well...

Do we know in from 11:59 picture that she actually used the phone for a call? Could she just be looking at it to check the time? If the latter, there wouldn't be a ping, right?

Could it be that Casey and Lee are using the word BlackJack as a code for
BackPack?

There was 2 different times during the video that I saw where she was doing something with the phone. Once when she was going into the store and once with her items bagged, obviously done shopping.

There's no way to tell if she was using the phone specifically, unless we've got text messages during this time that we know of.

It looked like texting to me.

I'm not convinced that was code for anything really.

Lee was trying to follow her explanation of what happened with the SIM and he somewhat caught her in a lie, then let her go ahead and tell it.

He didn't seem to be falling into the conversation as if it was code.

In the store I use my phone for two things: to review the grocery list I have stored on it & to use the calculator to check the price of sale items/coupons. Since we know KC had coupons maybe she was doing this as well.

I believe there was no black jack for Casey. One or more of her friends probably has one, so it was another made up story to weave lies.

^Yeah and that person is probably going to lose their phone thanks to KC. Sigh one more victim...

None of Casey's friends or family have reported any phone number for Casey, other than than the one we know.

Tigress, if nobody has mentioned it yet, Amy did have another number in her cell phone list for Casey. Not sure what it was, it wasn't the home number though.

That is what I believe. I believe we only have access to the calls/text, not the actual pings. They are two different methods for acquiring them too.

<Snipped>

Here's the thing ... I don't buy the switched the SIM card between phones story ... I had given a friend one of my old cell phones to use so they didn't have to buy one. When I got a new phone they'd get my old one to replace the current one they were borrowing. Everytime they switched phones, we would have to contact the wireless carrier. They always requested the number on the SIM card and the info from the phone to activate it.

Unless technology changed, I don't see how she could get by without contacting her carrier each time she swapped back & forth to the "BlackJack".

you can switch without calling carriers - we do it here - well my kids do. But the carrier has a way to tell the phone now?

I have heard this too - like a GPS system. You can locate anyone with their cell phone.

I thought the same thing. Who says left or right side of town?

hmmm... I might if I used mapquest to find directions to a business location in a part of town that I wasn't familar with, and then was asked about it later. (it's possible, anyway)

OK if she got the blackjack through Metro PCS, which has the slack rules and it's easy to get one, it would be a different # and not be associated with her original at&t/sim card and bill. How could we find out if she had one through another company like Metro PCS?

MetroPCS has never carried any smartphones (so I am pretty confident they didn't carry the blackjack. I use Metro and their phones are all lame.) MetroPCS doesn't use SIM cards. Until a few months ago, you couldn't use anything on Metropcs but a phone you purchased from them. They changed that, but they still aren't on whatever network AT&T is, so they aren't compatible.

One thing I have never understood is why KC didn't go to a flat-rate plan. All the carriers started those well before May, and even $120/m for everything on AT&T would be cheaper than her crazy bills.
And metropcs is 45/m for unlimited phone and data and text (AND you can port your number). So for anyone nowadays to have a cell bill over 150$ is not really bright.
