The elusive "other" cell phone - the Blackjack - REVISITED

I'm confused as to why you all don't believe Casey had a Blackjack? There is a photo of Casey with the Blackjack and a photo of Caylee with the Blackjack AND corroborating the photos, Rev. Grund said straight out that he bought a Blackjack for Casey. So, she very definitely did have one. As to what became of it, who knows?

Did she get a second one - the one she described as getting "for work?" Maybe. Or maybe she was going to pretend that the Blackjack Rev. Grund gave her when she was engaged to Jesse was the one she got "for work" to show off to her friends. Liars do stuff like that.

If there was a second Blackjack, when this case started, those of us who were at Websleuths at the time researched around the Orlando area and did find that you could get a pre-paid Blackjack there. So that is another possibility.

There has not been any evidence to prove that she did or did not have a charger for a Blackjack. She very well could have as far as we know. The absence of information does not make something true or untrue. It's just an absence of information.

Please post Blackjack photos, Thanks!

Funny how LP comes up so much as the source for info.I like the guy ,myself, but I do think some of the info he passed along may have been flawed. For the most part it always seems to be stuff that other people told him..I believe in court it's called hearsay and not always admissable.
We have some items being stated as fact, when in truth, they are things someone else heard and passed along to LP.
Can't really call that evidence IMO.

ETA how can you be sure that's KC's phone? It could belong to the person taking the picture or one of the friends she's with .For instance someone might have been asked to dance and asked KC to watch their phone.
Still haven't heard anyone say they saw KC with her own BJ

Including none of the friends.

Which makes me wonder WHY didn't she get an unlimited plan?!?!? :bang:

Maybe because the word, "unlimited" has four syllables. ;-)

Oh, I agree with you there. What he has said is NOT always fact. I think sometimes he passed along false information on TV to try to pressure people in this case to tell LE the true answer or get at information he was after. He clearly plays dumb like a fox.

Please post Blackjack photos, Thanks!

I posted the link to one of them. Have not run across the one with Caylee, although I'm sure it's linked somewhere on Websleuths. I really don't have hours and hours to search for links that are available to everyone here, anyway.

Okay,so we now know that Rev G didn't give KC a Blackjack and there is nothing about those pics that indicate it's KC's blackjack. The one pic I saw had the phone on a table facing away from KC and could have been anyones.I'm not even sure it is a blackjack.
So for me it's back to square one.Still no eveidence of another phone.

Don't have time to research and find this Grund link for you, sorry Princess. It's here somewhere. I'm pretty sure, IIRC, someone asked him on his Myspace blog and he answered there, and it was posted about here, that may help you find it. Let us know when you do, please. :)

As for pic #52, just because a phone is on a table at a party and Casey is in the same picture doesn't mean it's Casey's phone (if it is in fact even a BlackJack). Maybe it's the person's taking the picture? The way the phone is sitting on the table, that might make more sense.

I'm sorry, Princess, but I'd be more inclined to follow this line of reasoning if there were at least a few pictures of Casey with a BlackJack actually in her hand, using it. And even then it could be somebody elses.

I believe, and many others do also, that she just used it with LE as an excuse to why she couldn't provide a number for the Imaginanny (Sorry dudes, it's in my *other* phone that's missing). As for the Myspace posting about it, well, there is much concrete, written evidence that Casey frequently said things to make herself look "more important" or however you want to phrase it. Just simply a Chronic liar.

Beyond the two photos and what Casey wrote to her friend about getting one "for work," I also think that Casey likely had a Blackjack because Casey knew that the Blackjack would not hold its charge - which is a known problem with this type of phone. If she didn't own such a phone and none of her friends own one that we know of - because the police were checking that out, how did she know about that flaw with the Blackjack? It's one thing to lie about having a Blackjack, but it's quite another to have a valid reason due to a known flaw for switching from the Blackjack to another phone. Think about it. Do you know about problems with other types of cellphones that you don't own?

If you believe Casey lied about the Blackjack, then you also have to believe that Casey researched the Blackjack beforehand, found out about the known problem and planned in advance to tell people she lost the phone and that she switched phones due to the issue with the Blackjack losing it's charge, which means, this was not a lie made up in the moment, but something she had planned to lie about, at least to her friends, all along.

I don't think we have proof that Rev. Grund said he didn't give Casey a Blackjack. I haven't seen anything and I searched all over the internet to try to find some comment on this. I think if he posted it on his MySpace there would have been a lot of comment on it by bloggers, but there seems to be nothing that I can find. If you find Rev. Grund's comment on this, please let me know.

And what is the source that he DID say he gave KC a BJ? Do you have a link to Rev Grund saying he did ?Several posters here acknowledged they read his comments in a blog where he stated he did not give her a BJ,only a cheap freebie. That just makes more sense anyway. Why would he give her a BJ?
Also ,she said she had JUST gotten a BJ just before Caylee went missing.
Doesn't add up to Rev Grund to me.

Well, there was a lot of comment on this site about it at the time! Go back to the posts from mid-October 2008 on the "Blackjack" thread--maybe it is this exact thread, actually. I posted the link to the blog page where the comment originally appeared--that was the link everyone was posting in October 2008. People were describing the comment in detail, so it's pretty easy to tell what it said.

I dont know why, but I could guess and say she had terrible credit. Not everyone qualifies for great service plans. People with bad credit scores pay through the nose for everything with higher rates and less discounts.

KC was a text-a-holic, and if free texting was not in her plan, it could drive up the monthly bill big time. 50c a text adds up when its not covered under an unlimited plan.

No,I believe KC was a very social person who encountered a lot of people out and about. Not a big stretch for me to believe she overheard someone complaining about their Blackjack not holding a charge. She seemed to use other peoples experiences as her own,at times. All of her lies had some truth. She wasn't capable of making everything up from scratch IMO.

If KC did have a Blackjack from May to July of 2008 (and I'm completely open to that possibility), what could we conclude from that? KC said the Blackjack was under her same AT&T account, with the same phone number, and we have all the records for that phone number. If she had a phone on a DIFFERENT account, she would certainly have said so, because it would be much easier that way to say "oh, all these calls to and from Zani were on that other phone/account, but I forgot the number and the carrier...."

Well, a TON of phones have charging problems.

KC wouldn't have to research anything. Her crowd is very knowledgeable re: all kinds of cell phones.

I can talk a blue streak re: i-Phones, and I don't even have one, nor have I researched. And, there's that new quad-band cell phone wrist watch, w/ Bluetooth, the Net, email, and.. never mind. Getting OT.

BTW-- I can't tell from the piccie WHAT model of phone that is? Or, whether it's KC's.

And. Princess.. if she DID have a Blackjack, she'd have an account, and LE would STILL have the records.

KC is a proven liar. She could have overheard someone talking about a problem with their BJ, and added that little tidbit to her BS repertoire.

To me, it does not matter where she learned about the BJ charging issues, I just believe that she has a history of adding some truth to her "stories" in an effort to make them sound credible.

Doesn't add up to Rev Grund to me.

Padilla said Rev. Grund gave Casey a Blackjack on Nancy Grace.

Not if the phone was on someone elses cellphone account or a prepaid.

But that is no more proof that he DID say he gave KC one than the posters on here who saw a comment by him that he didn't.
Back to square one.
If KC had a BJ we have not seen any proof of it.

Blackjack's aren't prepaid.

Who else's c.p. did CA have, over the long term, and what evidence is there?

I can't even IMAGINE her being able to make more calls/texts than she has already racked up.

Princess, if you are trying to prove that there IS a Zanny by trying to prove there IS another c.p..... it's take a little more than that, I'm afraid.

OCSD and the FBI have already concluded that those folks don't exist, and they have tracking resources that we can't even imagine. Especially the feds.

Padilla said Rev. Grund gave Casey a Blackjack on Nancy Grace.

I'm not sure, but Rev Grund may have been asked about the BlackJack on Nancy Grace and discussed. He was on several times.

Princess Rose, if Casey actually did have a BlackJack, what would it prove? How would that change the case, in your opinion? I'm curious.
