Wow, every night?! That is the worst cellphone charging problem I've ever heard of! Anyone else heard of having to charge a phone nightly? I've personally had 15 cellphones and not one of them needed to be charged more often than once a week - even back in the 1990's!

Wow, you mustnt have teenagers! My sons phone between texting and internet need to be charged nightly, sometimes if it's a long day with mom and dad (boo-hiss, he hates those days LOL), he's gotta charge it 2 times a day! It's the roaming that JP got charged for that shocks the heckoutta me! I can't believe anyone roams anymore!

My daughter has to charge her phone every day.She usually does it on the car charger.Mine is about every third day.Never had one that could make it a week.

lol I know, not since texting anyway!

Alright, Imagine this scenario....CA had imaginanny's contact info, isn't that what she said in the earlier depo? So, even if the blackjack had existed with the contact info, her mother CA already had that info. How many times did CA try to reach Caylee while the two were missing for 31 days, at that contact number. When, did KC request this information from her own mother during the 31 days? Has anyone ever wondered if KC is covering for CA?

Have and still do.. not covering because she wants to.

The doc dump yesterday includes all the names stored in KC's phone in the order she put them in.

Under PHONE MEMORY there are 70 numbers

Under SIM there are 97 numbers, 27 numbers more than stored in the Phone memory

The contacts are numbered from 1 to 167. No. 71 begins the SIM No's with many contacts repeated as they are also stored in the Phone's Memory.

Out of the numbers in the Phone's memory there are only 13 names/numbers that are not repeated on the SIM memory.
There are 38 numbers on the SIM that are not in the Phone's memory.

Would this mean anything?

Sorry for quoting myself here but the only thing I can think of is; One, that KC was indeed switching her SIM to another phone and, Two, that the 13 peeps on the Phone's memory were not current in her life Spring/Summer of 2008.

I have always thought there was a blackjack. Nobody wanted to hear that though :)

I still subscribe to "Casey did not have a Blackjack Smartphone" since I have only Casey's word to go on, her word doesn't go far.

Firstly, to change my current opinion..I would like to see a receipt or confirmation from her cell phone carrier for the purchase and service plan for this Smartphone. Since she claimed this phone was for her, ahem, "Event Planner job" at Universal And that it didn't keep it's charge. Did she ever go back to the store to complain and get another phone or new battery? She did need this phone for work after all, that was the reason she needed ( to steal) the money from her grandfathers' assisted living account...I guess her phone was more important than his medical care.

Secondly, She told Lee she bought the phone (that I will add NO ONE, other than Casey, has ever seen) at the store located at the bottom left side of town by the mall.
Which Mall? , Left side of town would mean what....West of I-4?

Here is speculation I will throw out to wonderful WS'ers, because many believe Casey weaves a bit of truth into her lies, she may be describing who gave her the cellphone (like the Nokia) the bottom left side of town....where do the Grunds live? It could have been her way to turn the focus onto Jesse and perhaps the Grunds at that time. Just another speculation.

I am hoping I can get some help from a techie! I dont usually come into this forum, I am here for another case, but I was told the WS folks on the Caylee Anthony case are pro's... so Im asking for some guidance!

Is there anyway to find who a cell phone number belongs to? I tried doing a reverse lookup on 411.ca (Im in Canada), but cell phones rarely come up on there. All I know is that the number Im trying to search is registered with Bell who is a major carrier here in Canada. Any advice on where I can find the name of the person attached to the phone number???
Thanks so much!

Beyond the two photos and what Casey wrote to her friend about getting one "for work," I also think that Casey likely had a Blackjack because Casey knew that the Blackjack would not hold its charge - which is a known problem with this type of phone. If she didn't own such a phone and none of her friends own one that we know of - because the police were checking that out, how did she know about that flaw with the Blackjack? It's one thing to lie about having a Blackjack, but it's quite another to have a valid reason due to a known flaw for switching from the Blackjack to another phone. Think about it. Do you know about problems with other types of cellphones that you don't own?

If you believe Casey lied about the Blackjack, then you also have to believe that Casey researched the Blackjack beforehand, found out about the known problem and planned in advance to tell people she lost the phone and that she switched phones due to the issue with the Blackjack losing it's charge, which means, this was not a lie made up in the moment, but something she had planned to lie about, at least to her friends, all along.

good point, thank you

Oh, but she did know about the problems with the blackjack beforehand. At least according to comments left on someones Myspace page that I read before they all went private. It was during the time right before Caylee 'disappeared'. Then of course when she was first in jail she told Lee that she had recently purchased the blackjack at the local AT&T store IIRC. I don't believe for a minute that there ever was a blackjack. If there was I do believe that her 'new' friends would have seen it especially since she said it was her "work" phone and she would have had to look all important and stuff, ya know...a WORK phone, KC had a work phone...that's just too funny! :liar:.....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

This is just my speculation / opinion, but I have always wondered if she didn't have some kind of nefarious-type job like for a call girl service, because where did she go? What was she doing all the time everyday? She could have had " appointments" during the day for a service. Where did she get $$ when she wasn't stealing from her family & friends, especially the first couple of years Caylee was born? We know she spent lots of time on a computer or phone, but if she did have a "blackjack" it could have been for or from her "work" and they might have paid for it. I know this is way out there . . I have always wondered about this possibility, given her sexual proclivity.

I do hope Kio's phone records might potentially lead to the blackjack. :)

  • #693
Interesting concept. To what end?

If Kio's phone records did lead to the BlackJack, that would only seem to point to further lies/obstruction on Casey's part - in that she didn't work with Kio (she didn't work at all,) ergo, why would she use her work phone to communicate with Kio in the first place.

There is a gap in the processing logic, and that is just one example amongst too many to explain away.

Personally, I think there was no BlackJack, Kio is just a red herring being bantied about, and come to think of it, I don't believe there is a spoon, either.

I think that woulda shown up in all of LE's tracing and tracking, honey! Also maybe in the rumor mill.

Looks to me that she spent all her time shuttling among the A house, the latest bf's, the latest club, and the latest parties. The rest of her time was pretty much MySpace and FaceBook.

She didn't seem to have much of a life. Now, she has even less of one.

No. I think it's a possibility that KC stole a bunch of stuff from his place - AH's money, JP's keys and phone, RM's pot (kidding!) - you know, anything she felt like she needed right before her "friends" left for their various trips/PR. Until we hear what JPC has to say, as he is on the state's list, we can only speculate. I think it's strange that the first thing JP did upon return from his trip was to go buy a new phone. If KC did steal his phone, that's not his fault. I'm curious why we haven't heard from him though are you?

OT but someone is coming up with cash to pay for KC's defense (the off camera session in March). JPC and family seem rather well off and may have a connection to Baez due to their heritage and same name associated with JP's family business. It's possible but I have no proof - only thinking about links and possibilites, etc.

Or, she mighta weasled him into giving it to her.

But, I still don't think there WAS a phone-- since people didn't see it.

I am not permanently married to that viewpoint, though.

Agree with all three of your points.

What I am curious about is IF and a really huge IF, there is documentation from AT&T of a blackjack which was purchased by KC or JP allowed KC to use it, there are text messages on it.

I know people are thinking but who could prove KC USED the blackjack if it was registered to JP? Pings would prove KC was using the blackjack. JP can't be in two separate places at one time. If there is a phone and the pings come back to the exact pings corresponding to KC's Nokia pings and JP is pinging in another area LE would know KC was using two separate phones at the same location.

I know someone who has Verizon and she just purchased one of those pay as you go Boost, Sprint, phones because of the cost. She is trying out the Boost Sprint to see how reception is in our area before she cancels Verizon. She uses both at the same time or one right after the other. Talk about addiction to them.

wha? To see if it's possible to track back to the blackjack for the purpose of getting the phone records on the blackjack if it existed. :waitasec: I'm not going to presume what the records might or might not show, it would just be great if the records could be obtained.

Great to see you posting, ThoughtElf!

My two cents on this discussion:

1. We currently have 7 cellphones of various models including two blackberries and we have to charge them all every night and have car chargers for the daytime. As they aren't all the same make, we have two car chargers in each car. I think the charging issue (other than KC's claim) is more based on how much one uses their phones rather than which phone. I've had cell phones since my adult daughters were in elementary school; that's why I initially got one. I had been out and came home to a message that one was ill. That was my last day without one.

2. I don't find it surprising that KC complained of a "known issue" regarding charging a blackjack without owning one. From wherever she learned that blackjacks exist she probably also learned about the charging problem. She then stole another detail from whomever she knew, overheard or read on a social networking site, to help illustrate her fantasy life. She often picked up details from the lives of others and used them in her own alternate reality, imo.

3. And here is the big one, imo: So the state didn't find any records of a blackjack. Um, um, um, KC knows where she purchased it, (if she did), and from where the service came, (if it existed), and how she paid for the service, (if it existed.) If this phone ever existed it should be very, very easy for KC to track it down and show it existed and show the telephone numbers that it supposedly contained for JH, ZG, JL. The only possible reason this information hasn't been forthcoming is either the blackjack doesn't exist, the people don't exist or both.

You're presuming the blackjack exists, imo. I disagree.

ITA. I'm not permanently married to the lack of blackjack or any other theory/fact of the case should other evidence surface to prove anything.

ETA: I should have written should ANY evidence surface. IMO, there is no evidence of a blackjack to date.
