The Evidence Trail - Zahra Baker

A few more pertinent pieces of evidence, regarding EB/AB's phone and online activities:

-Phone records for Adam and Elisa were requested, from Sept. 18 through Oct. 11, because, according to the search warrants, investigators believed both may have participated in kidnapping.

-Investigators also obtained access to Elisa’s MySpace, Facebook and America Online email accounts, based on the case being a missing/endangered person case, according to the search warrant. They were looking for photographs, videos, blogs and classifieds she may have accessed, as well as private messages in her inbox, sent mail or trash folders.

-Elisa’s password for her Facebook account is fairygirl6668, and her password is 666. Her MySpace username was also gothicfairy6668, and her AOL email account was fairygirl6668.

-After executing a search warrant on Elisa Baker’s America Online account, AOL contacted the Hickory Police Department on Oct. 18, however, and said there were multiple email accounts possibly for the same user under different names and telephone numbers.

The syringe and the lidocaine....not good signs
Being a native to South Florida and the intense heat (especially in the summer) I have "after sun" gel/lotion that has lidocaine in it. We buy it over the counter and it really really works great on sunburns. Other than that - I don't know what you would use lidocaine for and would you use a syringe to inject it? For what purpose?

I work a Dental school. We use Lidocaine all the time, with a syringe. Numbs em right up. Just saying...

Ummm, where did the password info being 666 come from? FB requires 6 characters.

Thank you - I always thought that lidocaine must be in the same family as novacaine. Guess I was right.

So, the lidocaine and the syringe could have been used for injections to "numb up" something. Interesting....................

Still can't wait for the lab reports that will tell us what exactly was in that syringe.

#17 of the warrant info states that the prosthetic was found wrapped in a white plastic bag in a dumpster that Elisa took LE to. So, part was there and part was found on Christie Road then? Or there was more than one prosthetic? Or reporting went haywire? Or she took them there and then remembered they had retrieved it and dumped it along the road in a different location?

The gel liner was found. In my mind that is not the prosthetic. The gel liners are use to compensate for weight loss/gain are of varying thickness. My daughter has approx 10 of these on hand at any given time

The prosthetic would consist of the socket which since Zahra was an above knee amputee would then be attached to the titanium componets (thinking they would be titanium as they are the most light weight) such as the mechanisms and the knee joint. The foot then is attached separately to those and can again be removed to that foot length can be adjusted as they grow

I am interested in why they had lidocaine as well.

Lidocaine--brand name Xylocaine-- (which does come in a 50ml vial) is a local anesthetic (as mentioned by nightfallgypsy). It is available by prescription only (not that this matters, necessarily..) and there is very little use for it in the home. It must be administered subcutaneously to be effective (hence, syringe?). I'm assuming AB and EB weren't medically trained or anything. And they certainly didn't seem to be trying to save Z any pain.

Anyone know of use of lidocaine in IV drug use maybe?

Interestingly, lidocaine has been used as a cardiac resucitation med--if injected intravenously, lidocaine could certainly cause cardiac arrythmias.. which could certainly be fatal. Just a thought. I doubt AB or EB knew that.

Just my thoughts..

Hmm.. one more thing.. it is used in the ER when placing sutures to repair a laceration. Wonder if someone cut themself and tried to sew it up??

The syringe and the lidocaine....not good signs

Lidocaine is often used to cut cocaine (nevermind how I know). It might also be used to relieve pain from stump/prosthetic leg, I guess?

The "piece of brick" and "plastic piece" have me totally stumped.

Lidocaine/Xylocaine can be used topically (like in those sunburn sprays). They have a small % lidocaine, but it can be helpful in minor pains. With the syringe also being taken, I'm guessing it was a vial of injectible lidocaine, injected under the skin, not so hard to do, for numbing of pain. But the injectible is prescription only. No idea how/why they would have that.

My veins are difficult to access as I've had so many "procedures." At one point the RNs started applying lidocaine (sometimes swabbing, sometimes a small injection) right before they started their search for my veins.

Makes me wonder if they were using this to ease the pain of shooting someone up.

Interesting.. didn't know about it being used to cut cocaine..

Probably wouldn't be much help with pain from amputation.. Unless you injected it all around the stump--and that would seem impractical. IMO

It does come in a viscous gel for relieving sore throats, also patches (Lidoderm--this I could see being used for the stump pain.) But lidoderm also would not be "50ml".

Wait.. there is also a cream.. brand name Emla.. but that would be measured in grams, as would any topical skin gels (Lidamantle etc.) I think.

I'm pretty sure they are talking about injectible lido.. MOO

That was my first thought, too. But the syringe sounds like it was being used intravenously as a local anesthetic. That brings disturbing thoughts to mind.

Another disturbing thought (OT): When a patient goes to the ER with cockroach stuck in an ear, a shot of lidocaine is administered, and the cockroach pops right out. :nerves: Read that in a front page article of The Times Picayune some years back.

Would a tattoo parlor store Lidocaine?

Can we get some assistance in this thread from the evidence-savvy folk? This is a question I am seeing all over the place, and it would be great to have it clarified. TIA!

MONSTERS!!!

I also started a thread on the lidocaine report, so we can keep all the great info people are gathering in one place. I am also hoping I can invite some verified pros in that area to look at the discussion.

Let me know if you want any of your posts copied there - just alert and I will do it when I can.
