Pretty bold statements about the buyer wanting to incinerate animals..."the man" said this and that. Then an article about DM and the oddities in his life, then the info that an employee set up the incinerator purchase. So the bold statements were about DM or the employee? Creative journalism!
It is creative journalism. It leads the reader to think of DM as "the man", when really it's the employee who asked the questions and made the purchase. It's purpose is to make you think they've uncovered more details, to sensationalize, and to make the public assume things that may or may not be true.

I don't remember the 500 pounds figure before. Obviously he didn't have 500lbs of dead raccoons.
The fact that LE seized the incinerator, but not other pieces of equipment like the wood chipper, also seems pretty telling.
You don't remember that figure before because that's not the model that was found on the farm. The incinerator on the farm was an SN250, not the SN500. The SN250 only holds 250 pounds, not 500, and only burns 100 pounds an hour. More creative journalism.
It's odd that none of the journalists ever mention the size of the opening either, and the fact that a body wouldn't fit without some extra work beforehand. Seems to me it would be simpler and faster to use an accelerant and toss a match.
