I thought the 15 day deadline was Friday? If it's Friday, and the court is closed Friday, then he'll have until Monday.

So, if the courts were open on Friday he would still have all day Friday to file for an extension? Or, with Friday being the deadline, does that mean he has to file by tomorrow in order for the extension to be granted?

Either way, Monday is basically Friday... the deadline. I'm just wondering if he has to file before the deadline (only option would be tomorrow) or could he file on the day of the actual deadline (Monday)?

I hope that isn't too confusing.

I think that would be 15 business days and not to include weekends...that is my understanding of what it means when the judge said he would have 15 days...business days.

So, I guess we have five more business days to go after tomorrow? So that would make Friday the 9th the deadline.

Thanks.

you know its unfortunate but i dont think theres anything that important in the notes. probably still talking about zanny, jeff, universal, chili, you know the important stuff. and still no mentioning caylee. what i think we will get from these letters is a definite outlook into the mind of casey anthony. if its 258 pages of nonsesnse and nothing then our previous assumptions of casey are correct. what i did wonder about was if her involvements with baez and how he became to be her lawyer were somehow detailed in those letters. all imo

Jail is similar to the Army in that you are forced to make friendships fast. Couple that with Casey's apparent shallowness and you have the makings for some really interesting letters. You can bank on her talking some HUGE smack  Maybe nothing that is going to seal the deal but very some revealing things on many, many levels.

casey wrote 258 pages worth of notes..that is a small novel!!!

Plus, this is a little gift from Heaven for a handwriting expert!!!

The courts dont use business days so the 15 days would be 15 straight days which would be Friday but he will now have until Monday if court is closed on Friday.

I agree with you, but I thought it would be a little different for someone in KC's position-She has not been convicted of the murder (and basically got time served for the check fraud, IIRC) and so she is really just there awaiting trial-You would think she would not even have the opportunity to meet anyone else, as she should be removed from the population as a person that is still not proven guilty of her pending charges.
Also, she is someone accused of killing her daughter, if I were the jail I would keep her away from everyone but the guards. I understand inmates come across each other, maybe just being transported from here to there, but they manage to avoid these contacts in AdMax, and KC really should be as solitary as those inmates are, if only for her own safety.
Finally, it is jail, not prison, so I did not imagine her mingling with the other inmates, I thought of it more like a solitary, very temporary-type detention.

I wonder about the person this inmate sent the letters to, on the outside, to keep. Why would this person sit on these letters for so long ?

Would they start counting the day JB actually received the letters or the date of the court hearing granting the 15 day extension?

I would bet my last dollar the vast bulk of the writings are about stupid mundane trival things like the food and childlike whining...and of course the constant theme will be all about Casey.

ITA! Could not have said it better myself. One thing is almost certain. There will be very little mention of Caylee except as a bit player in the drama and persecution of poor poor put upon Casey.

I agree. I mean, what does Casey have to talk about except how unfair life is to her, and it's been so long since she got laid, does Tony even think about her anymore? She probably went on about how stupid her family is, but that's okay because she has these awesome lawyers that are going to get her out of there. And then there's probably drivel about dry skin, no tanning beds in prison, and what she's going to do first when she gets out. She probably wonders if Howard Stern will want her first post prison interview, and goes on about how popular and what a celebrity she is, like Robyn should be honored to have Casey write to her. There's probably not one mention of Caylee by name, just that the snothead got her into his mess, but hey, no more working or having to lie about her life. Sadly, she got her Bella Vita by becoming a burden to Florida taxpayers (by being in prison, I mean).

It's going to be an infuriating read, I'm sure. I wonder if this prisoner decided to take a chance and write Casey, just to see if she would get a response. And oh boy, did she, probably five to ten pages got sent to Robyn, and she realized what a golden opportunity it would be to keep up correspondence with Casey. She was probably going to sit on it until it benefitted her, but then saw how this case was going, and decided to let the letters go early to help the prosecution instead, and maybe that would benefit her down the line. I have the feeling Robyn has awesome insight into Casey's state of mind from these letters, and hopefully we will too sometime soon. Heck, maybe she was tired of being the only one who knew about the contents of the letter, you know, maybe it's one of those I have to share for the sake of my sanity or my soul kind of things. Or maybe she didn't want to become another one to be thrown under the bus like so many already have been.

Whatever the reason, she gave up those letters, and they can only beneficial for Justice for Caylee! I am just running out of patience! I want to see them NOW darnit!

Imo, she probably thought they would be worth $$ some day.

OR
a deal for herself to reduce charges? This is often the case with those who are charged with crimes...they will offer information on SOMEONE ELSE to get some of their time taken off of their crime...:waitasec:

I am anxious to read these "notes" as well.
Funny Mr. Baez has not been making any noise lately. Mr. Mason must have taken the reins on this carriage!

Long before LE learned of this, the letters were copied and are being shopped around for six figures to the rag magazines, if I had my guess. Of course the person who they were given to will claim they are shocked, SHOCKED, that someone must have took them and copied them without their knowledge or consent.
These folks are thinking if Cindy Anthony can get twenty grand for photos that are already widely released on the internet, imagine what fee these letters would fetch.
Whether the judge releases them or not, we will see them turn up. IMO the judge has already let us know he will release them.

I would think that whoever had the letters probably made copies. If JS were to seal the letters, wouldnt that make them worth even more to the holder of the copies. I mean everyone would want to see them even more if they are sealed which would bring way more $$$. I know I WANT to see them to see what her state of mind has been while locked up and to see how often if at all she mentions Caylee. Since KC wrote the letters, my guess is everything in the letters will probably still be about ME ME ME with not much about Caylee.

Breaking News: A jail guard was just suspended for allegedly delivering letters Tot Mom wrote behind bars to other inmates including a convicted drug dealer & gang member! This as reports emerge that the secret jail letters may become public soon! Did Tot Mom slip-up & incriminate herself in her daughter Caylee's murder? Nancy Grace has the latest breaking developments every night!

NG will be discussing the letters tonight!

I don't gamble, but I would make a serious bet that Caylee is not mentioned anywhere in these letters.

As a trustee, I would be with another guy (usually Daryl B.) when we took chow or linen exchange back to the PC area. Those cats were so desperate not to be seen as snitches/perverts that they would 'tip' us with ramen or pop-tarts for not messing with their chow, etc. I was never openly 'mean', having me own problems, so not mean=friendly to those PC folks. They would tell me their life's story whenever we went back to their area. Keep in mind, they get yelled at by the rest of the pod whenever the guard lets them.

The girl she got to be friends with was either a trustee or their cells shared a wall so they can talk through the vents. At the county lock up I was at, the PC cells were the same as us workers. Being a pre-fab, the single cells had holes where the second bunk's bolts were supposed to go. Since that pod architecture seems to be darn near universal from watching 'Cops', et al. I would not be surprised if they shared a wall between their cells and talked through the bolt hole. (Solitary aka 'The Bucket' is the same way)

Using the guard as the intermediary is the 'hmmmm' factor that makes me think the woman was a trustee who was nice to Casey when she brought the chow back. As a trustee the guards got to know us pretty well and, with the right sob story, would cut us favours no other inmates could expect. If I had to bet, the guard is what makes me think the other woman was a trustee and NOT a fellow PC.

If THAT was the case, she could of stood by Casey's cell door and BSed with her all day. Just sharing some experience most folks, hopefully, never get to be a part of.
