The question phase continues: Arias on the stand for the 18th day #83

She's getting sentenced to death, I'm certain of it.

If the jury hears she had a gun and two knifes in the rental car she had when arrested I believe she will certainly get the DP, if that doesn't come in in either the trial or penalty phase (don't know if it can in either, frankly) they may just go LWOP, at least that's my thinking. Not that she doesn't deserve DP I just don't know if they will give it unless they can consider she may having been planning to attack someone else before her arrest.

Great find! I still think she is double jointed - Notice in the video of her hiding her face pretending to cry while pressing her glasses to her forehead, that right index finger joint sticks out exactly like she made her left ring finger after supposed injury by TA.....

This also happens when she whispers to J Willmott and puts her right hand to cover her mouth. I have wanted to catch it in screenshot, but just haven't taken the time to do it.

YUP!

It is indeed! An impossibility since we have photo evidence that his throat was already slashed by the end of that 62 seconds.

I bet the DT team tries to argue that you can't tell what kind of injury TA had in the drag photo...like it could have been blood from the gunshot.

This has to be the most unprofessional trial I've ever seen. Courts hours are silly. No one is ever on time. Constant technical issues. Defendants snarky to counsil. Judge can't seem to make decisions without 10 minute long discussions with both sides. Defense attorneys making faces and shaking their heads while prosecutor questions defendant. I've never seen anything like it. I just can't imagine what this jury is thinking. It's a freaking madhouse. :twocents:

This has got to be sheer torture for these jurors!

I've sat on a jury twice and it is not easy on so many levels. It is such a sacrifice of time but more importantly, a tremendous expenditure of energy and emotions. Even after the trials are over, they start with you in your mind for so long.

meant to say... they "stay" with you in your mind for so long.

Yes, in 62 seconds she stabbed him 27 times, slit his throat ear to ear, and shot him. She's bionic. I can't imagine being able to move that fast. He had no chance.

no hesitation marks on the throat slash that nearly went to the spinal cord either.

all of that in 62 seconds to include abrasions, cuts, and defense wounds that were bleeding (meaning he was still alive and his heart was pumping).

surprisingly the gsw has no bleeding at the entry point (ME says most likely he was dead already when shot or was hypovolemic related to other stab wounds)

The fact that she can get up there and lie in such a cold and calculated way is so very creepy. No words.

I was just remembering how Judge Belvin threatened to work the attorneys on Saturday. Man, they are working this judge way too hard.

Also, why can't they have a member of Nurmi's team get a burger & fries for Arias so we can go past 4:30?

However, the upside is that, as brief as Jodi Arias's testimony was, we already have critical analysis:

I think she already said she didn't remember seeing any blood. Although I suppose 'remember' is the key word for her.

someone needs to get on this Judge about time issues....they will only have court 2 days this week.....10:30-4:30 with 2 hours in breaks (lunch and breaks) not to mention Nurmi's objections, that is 4 hrs a day....this trial will last thru the summer!!! this is a waste of taxpayer's money! they need to lengthen hours especially if they are only going to be there 2 freaking days. The judge needs to order that Nurmi have lunch brought in and take matters up with the court off the jury's time (i.e. the wasted time this morning)

This really is insane and really quite unfair. I know we're all entitled to a speedy trial but this is ridiculous.
I don't think this Judge was the right one for this case. These 18 people cannot ignore the media forever. So the longer she takes to speed this up the more likely it'll be that one of the jurors will overhear or talk about this case.

I can't imagine as it stands now, that these fine folks spent 5 days NOT discussing this case with anyone let alone reading/watching TV.

I think that's why these "Jodi-is-innocent' websites spring up hoping a juror will stumble on it seeing we the public don't care what a bunch of strangers think about Jodi. It's only beneficial to someone judging her. Not us regular folk.

This Judge needs to get things under control, start the trial on time and admonish these constant objections/interruptions. I know it's a litigators right but it's also instrumental in tripping up a flow of questioning/answering too. There's a point that it can be taken advantage of.

And Juan needs to stop rehashing a point over and over again. He gets her to say something then, he gets her to repeat it. It's annoying and not effective in the long run.
He's doing a great job but, he drags it on too much.

He needs to get her to admit something, clap his hands together and say "well there you have it. So it IS possible...." and then, move on.

Jodi's trying to wiggle out of it by implying that his throat wasn't cut in that picture. Problem is, Travis is clearly dead in that photo. His limp foot is what you would see on a dead man not someone who may attempt to attack her. It's indisputable. So if the stabbing and cut throat didn't occur by that point, she has basically admitted to mutilating a corpse. Bad for her either way.

How amazing is it that the camera was able to give us an accurate time of what happened?!

I'm not particularly religious or superstitious, but I do remember the first time I heard about I said "God was taking those pictures"....and I still think that.

Interesting how such a sad, gruesome photo no longer causes tears for JA.

Our man Juan really has her back on her heels now. Ever since his first question today, JA has looked smaller. She does have that deer-in-the-headlights look, doesn't she. How in the world can she cope with this & come out looking good?

62 seconds.....

The Vatican smoke signals work better than the technical stuff in the courtroom.

:floorlaugh:That is so true!!! I'm thinking that the courthouse needs to spring for the cost of a maintenance/IT person. It would be much cheaper in the long run than adding on major time to an expensive trial.

She is sticking to her story but realizing that M's argument of 62 seconds to shoot, stab and drag TA is not possible.

Running down the hallway and into the closet, closing the door, getting the gun up on a top shelf would have chewed up at least 45 seconds.

Well, while we are in this recess, let me tell you all exactly what happened on that hot June 4th in Mesa......

JA has already decided to kill Travis before he took the shower, which is the reason she went there after all. In order to get close enough for her plan, she suggested taking some lurid pictures of him in the shower. Once Travis was in the shower she snapped a few pictures then dropped the camera, sprayed Travis in the eyes with the aerosol sun block containing 50% alcohol which blinded him. He was an easy target now for the stab to the chest/heart after which Travis staggered to the sink to wash out his eyes with JA stabbing him all the way there. Travis turns to try to fend her off and receives the defensive wounds, turns back to try to clear his eyes, coughs blood due to the chest wound, (splatter/spray behind the sink) JA panics because Travis has survived the attack (it appears to her) so she takes off down the hall. Travis follows her even though he is seriously injured, and collapses to his knees at the end of the hall. JA then seizes the opportunity to slash his throat, still in a panic because Travis didn't die fast enough she puts a bullet in his head to make sure.

This just my opinion after considering the evidence produced in court.
:rocker:

you got it as I also think it happened. She never dragged him that is why she smirks, she is thinking how stupid is that? to say she dragged him!
yes that is how it happened for sure..
