Little Missie had some new stories today, didn't she? She said today that when she jumped up in the closet for the gun she grabbed it with her RIGHT hand. Previously, she testified that she did not know which hand she used to grab the gun. Today, she claims that Travis handled the gun in front of her and loaded it at one point and took it somewhere to do something but no details.

18 days. And it took her nearly half of all her time on the stand (8.5 days) to admit the fear so great, so palpable, so vivid it left her no viable option than killing her 'abuser'. Her mortal terror.

If it seems a sticking point for me, it really is. In all my years since my own abusive relationship, I've watched and heard many victims and survivors alike, downplay and dismiss their partner's abusive behaviors...

What is this judge doing! Is she reading a home improvement magazine as this is going on? Is her shaking head a sign of Parkinson's ? I am afraid that I feel a mistrial coming up...... I hope not. I remember when I was younger and Jodi first took the stand, I wished there was a better Public Defender so hopefully, if there is a mistrial that Nurmi will go off to defend his sex case clients and somebody who can speak faster than I can type with two fingers will take over.

She was also testifying about gripping/dropping the knife and was using her RIGHT hand at one point. Did you notice??? She had cuts on her right hand if you'll recall!! I personally think she used both hands at some point while stabbing him and slitting his throat! Thus the screwed up ring finger on the L hand and the cuts on the R hand. Just my humble opinion...

EXACTLY! You see in the past I have in fact stepped on a low shelf and sort of boosted myself up to grab shoes that were DIRECTLY above me and sitting at the edge of the shelf. ( Incidentally, they came crashing down onto my head) NO WAY I am reaching that high and right and getting something in the CORNER without some sort of catastrophe below.

Yeah, AZ. Her lies (to be true) must defy TWO laws of physics: Torque (as she steps on the shelf) and (forward) Momentum/Friction (as her arm -- in a frenzy -- snatches the (loaded/unloaded/holstered/unholstered) gun ...

According to her testimony: In a rush, a "chase" for her life ... she 'fairy stepped' on a shelf ... 'put her hands on a gun she hadn't seen' (oh wait ... yeah she lied about THAT, again ) ... snatched the gun off the upper shelf in a TOTALLY perpendicular motion (leaving no forward motion on the upper shelf from an arm, applying friction/force, pulling it toward her) ...

We all agree: There is no evidence in TA's closet of this horrific battle.

Great post! Even if we don't know the measurements of the room, if you look at the duffle bag/briefcase on the floor that looks to be about a foot or so high, then the jeans are hanging long-wise above them (and Travis was almost 6'), you're already looking at 7' approximately right there. She's 5'6" and is looking at that picture eye-level??? :waitasec:

The standard ceiling height is 9ft high.

I could swear that the first time on recross she said that she stepped on shelf and grabbed gun without touching a shelf with her free hand. She grabbed gun . I will go look for the data.

Frankly, I don't begrudge those witnesses any of that. Their job is to advocate for victims of abuse, not to investigate the veracity of their claims. It is for the jury to determine if thier opinion is credible and that is as it should be.

With respect that is not true of expert witnesses. Like anyone else under oath, they swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Yes, their understanding of the truth may tend to be colored by their areas of expertise.

But advocacy is the job of the lawyers.

I was thinking the same thing. He looks like he has too much makeup on, and I totally disagree with him on his assessment of Juan Martinez although I usually agree with him on most issues.
