In my experience I quite literally had my abuser threatening my life almost daily, he pulled a gun on me twice, a knife a handful of times, set fire to our house, and rammed my car with his own...

I never actually fully comprehended how dangerous he is until months after I'd left. Because that IS the way abuse works. You can fear your partner, and even say 'If I ever turn up dead', and still not totally 'get' that they mean it. I knew he *could* hurt me - but my very human emotions made me believe he also loved me therefore wouldn't. Discounting and dismissing violence and abusive behaviors is part of the pattern itself...for many, many victims and survivors. It took several months of being away from daily abuse to gain clarity.

I now have no doubt he wouldn't hesitate to kill me if given the chance. An ocean, 4000 miles, several years, a new marriage and he still abuses by proxy every chance he gets - from prison. I don't need to mention he's a psychopath and that I chose to end the relationship, do I? :giggle: Idealize, devalue, and discard is the psychopath's relationship mantra. When anything outside of that occurs, ime, they become fixated on the one who has the audacity to leave them instead. Again, ime, the only thing that will curb that fixation is incarceration, death, or finding a new victim.

JMO and FWIW

BBM

So true and to the point. I have been up over 24 hrs now because reading some of the posts last night in regards to questioning why Travis didn't do this or that, after he had the warning signs... just bothered me so much. I get someone not understanding this but when others take the time to explain it only to have it blatantly ignored just really bothers me as a victim and for all victims. .sigh.

SMDH thinking about when JM showed JA the picture of the bloody picture she tried saying she doesn't know whether he had been stabbed in that picture (which would make her doing all of the shooting and killing and running to the closet in 62 seconds impossible) or if he had just been shot.

1. But previously she stated that after she shot TA he was already on his feet trying to grab her and saying "kill you *****". He sure looked defenseless to me.
2. Previously she said she went for the knife or tried to get away or something along the trend because she wasn't sure she had shot TA because she didn't see any blood. You would see blood if he had bled so much as was the case in that picture.

The Liar!

She sure didn't look happy when she climbed off the stand yesterday.

I agree. Yesterday was the first day she showed signs of... well I don't really know. lol I don't want to be so bold to say defeat. lol

Just think, if she hadn't taken the stand this case would be finished by now and we might be on the punishment phase or even done with that part by now! jmo

I totally agree - whichever came first really doesn't matter. What JA did was unusually cruel and she did it on purpose. I think a lot of us just want to know what happened, in what order, because it is so hard to believe. Either way, she deserves the death penalty.
Don't get me wrong, I am very curious about what really happened. I keep running through possible scenarios in my mind. It's maddening that she will never, ever tell the truth about what happened. I just meant that either way it was especially cruel and warrants the DP.

Rebuttal will be whenever the defense rests.

will rebuttal even be necessary? I mean, is it a must happen type thing? I really think this is a slam dunk for the State...

Im seriously hoping nurms is done with first witness by lunch then juan gets at her and we move on.

This trial has been held up long enough with jodi on the stand.

I read somewhere that said about two weeks til verdict....my immediate thought WHAT AM I GOING TO DO???

Oh it would be done! BUT, ironically, I think by taking the stand she secured the death penalty.

I am glad Jodi lasted 18 days on the stand. After a while she couldn't keep her lies straight and kept adding details that I'm sure will come back and bite her in the butt.

Arias' version of the murder makes no sense. She says he came at her when she had the gun pointed at him, then she shot him 'by mistake', they both go down, she gets away and THEN he threatens her life? At the very least, Travis would have been down on the floor in pain after the gun shot. He may have tried to use his arms to protect himself from further torture but how could he THEN threaten her life? If she could get away from Travis (the first time before any physical harm was done to him) by running through the closet don't tell me that she couldn't run out of the door and out the house when he had just been shot in the head!!!

In the words of Judge Judy (from a video on youtube)

'Oh please!'

'That's ridiculous!!!'

'Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining!'

'Beauty fades, dumb is forever'

'I am a truth machine, sir!' I wish JM could say this!

'I eat liars for breakfast' I wish JM could say this!

'On my best day you're not as smart as I am on my worst day sleeping ' I wish JM could say this to Arias!

'You know that face? That's the guiltiest face I've seen all day'

'You think I'm not going to humiliate you in front of 10 million people?'
What video are u referring to? Do u have a link u could share?

:newhere: Looking at some Osmonds videos and revisiting the days of my youth, I just realized that, IMHO, Travis resembles a young Merrill Osmond. Those camera pics...I believe it was Divine Intervention that saved those pics to be Travis' testimony and witness to his gruesome murder. Travis has been in that courtroom, via those pics.
The she-devil might've gotten away with her horrible crime, if it were not for those time-stamped pics. RIP, Travis.

Without the camera they still would have gotten her. The bloody palm print with DNA from both Travis's blood and her own blood was all that was needed. The camera photos like shorted the timeframe of them knowing it was her, but hard to tell since they needed forensics to extract the photos from the camera, and who knows if that took as long as discovering her DNA in that bloody palm print. The camera photos unquestionably helped, but she wouldn't have gotten away with it without them. Mostly they helped with the timeline and pinned down the exact time of the murder. They also undoubtly helped in court.

Jodi was in fear for her life? At what point? Even while she was stabbing, slicing and shooting Travis, the only injury Jodi walked away with was an unfortunate nick during her own murderous rampage.

He initiated SOME phone sex calls. Never any visits to her. All I can ascertain is that Jodi made the plans and dates to go meet him. His home was in a subdivision neighborhood. Not one single person has come forward to say they saw her strange to the neighborhood rental car parked there with an upside down license plate. That's certainly an anomaly SOMEBODY would notice. 5:30- 6pm is rush hour everywhere. People coming home from work. Kids outside socializing. That's when she was leaving Travis' home.

I think truly evil people are born that way.

I believe in some cases that some people have a different chemistry and try to fit into their surroundings. I can imagine they can become very frustrated.

Agree with you totally.

What happened to the little 'thanks' button? Is it missing for everyone or just me?

If she didn't bring the knife, which has been established as the murder weapon, how is it a slam dunk for the State?

As far as I can see, the State did not prove she brought the knife with her and cannot prove it.

They could mitigate this problem by bringing on an expert to say the gun was used first, but so far they are not showing signs of doing this.

I love the camera though. It gives her 62 seconds. Killing such a strong man who based on the defense wounds tried to defend himself would take about that time ONLY if you had both weapons close by.

I think the camera was HUGE for the prosecution in this case. How eerie is it that the camera snapped pictures like that?

I agree.

I was telling my friend what happened yesterday cause he was at work so missed it, and writing it down made it clear even yesterday in the short time JM proved the cruel/over kill that is required for the DP
He proved the knife wasn't in the bathroom so (in her story) she had to leave the bathroom to get said knife to slaughter him when since she clearly left the room she could have left the house instead of going to butcher him.

But we all know that story is a lot of poppycock

The prosecution in the Scott Peterson trial did not call any witnesses during rebuttal!

I agree, but just think - Juan has already done a great job. When he does his rebuttal, it will be awe inspiring and really take JA down!!! I can't wait!

The first thing I thought of when I saw the picture of her foot with socks and pants was she had shorts and a tank on underneath. All she would have to do is take off the pants, a hefty tee shirt and the socks and she is ready for a hot day in Arizona. After washing the blood off her exposed skin and hair, of course! She could have stuffed her clothes in any bag and stopped at a dumpster....didn't she say she got rid of the rope in a dumpster, too? :twocents:

Where is that picture? I have not been able to decipher it if in fact I saw it?
