Yes Bargle - Thank you.

I believe that first one is the thread that has been quite active of late.

On my unsolved cold case poll though, Gatton only has one vote out of 153.

  • #65
I suppose a lot of people haven't heard about the case.

  • #66
Dahlia has 28 votes then Jack the Ripper and Zodiac are tied for second with 23.

  • #67
It appears that Boston Strangler will move up at least a level.

  • #68
From a 4 to a 3 at present.

  • #69
The fact that two different tests from supposedly the same sample got opposite results bothers me regarding Boston S.

  • #70
And each got the result that their sponsors wanted.

  • #71
I guess now we need a tie breaker.

  • #72
The Sullivan DNA may well be compromised by now though.

  • #73
I guess the question is, why was there a second test of the same victim rather than of another victim?

  • #74
Question, where does the Valerie Percy murder stand on the Reid scale, and does the new book on it change its rating on said scale?

  • #75
At this stage, I suppose I would put it at a 4.

Stan, what would be Reid Scale on the classic and controversial Bogle-Chandler deaths -- one even can't call them murders, quite, following certain - and also controversial - "revelations" of hydrogen sulfide as a possible causal factor back in '06 - in Sydney on New Year's morning back in 1963? I've long found this to be the classic Australian "unsolved" case and Taman Shud something of a non-starter.

(Anyone interested in this great, "has it all, practically," case should check out http://www.boglechandler.com/ for the most complete account online, including coroner's inquest transcripts, and also see at http://boglechandler.freeforums.net/ for discussion)

I'd have to go with a 5 and I think it was a murder otherwise there would have been dead animals all over the place.

Of course, it wouldn't be on the scale if it wasn't a murder.

An intriguing mystery no matter which it is.
