The Responsibilities of the University and Threat Assessment

"But, these people are other students. They see you running up to the door and hold it, or you say "damn I left my card" and they let you in. Happened on a daily basis at my school, quite common."

Brilliant! I'm sure that would've worked. "Excuse me but would you mind holding that door? I left my key card! I was preoccupied trying not to forget any of my assault weapons and beau coup ammunition plus other shooting paraphenalia! And maybe you can give me a hand while you're at it!"

:what: LOL!

It happens all the time. "Can you hold that door, thanks"

Not sure why you think this is so crazy.

  • #262
Not only that,... you'll be waiting outside the door , hoping a student come by, with your GAS MASK on, orange hair, all black shooting gear LMAO.....are u gonna smile on that video camera too? LMAO

Did I say he would be suited up? He wasn't when he entered the movie theater.

I simply said, that it is quite easy to gain access to a "secured" area in a college.

It's not out of the realm of possibility at all. I think he chose the theater because there were more people there in a confined space.

"Can you hold that door? Thanks." Could even be someone who recognized his as a student. Then you suit up inside

For all we know, Dr Fenton could have contacted police to try to initiate a 72 hour hold, and may not have been able to. They are not as easy to get as people assume, and generally the first step is having the patient taken to ER by police for assessment.

I had to do it a few times. While it is not easy, because the patient refuses to go It is done all the time and his therapists evaluation would make it MUCH easier then my evaluation but I did it. COULD HAVE, SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE.

No such thing as in the process. you start the process you finish it.

well no one even noticed what he was actually wearing when he first get in the theater. Do you have a link on a witness describing what he was wearing when he first enter the theater? I am actually dying to read that.... I dont see in any link or any witnesses even describing what he was wearing...

You should know then that you must have a good reason to do it.

You cannot call just because someone is acting crazy.

For all we know she spoke to the police and they decided he wasn't a threat.

There is not enough information on this yet to demonize the woman.

Oh I'm sure no one would even notice! Just your every day, normal neuroscience doctoral candidate! :hills:

Beam me up scotty! :ufo:

Oh yeah... like nobody in that theater even manage to say - the guy with the red/orange hair did this and did that....

Nope, and it's one of the reasons I'm not 100% sure that he was alone.

who do you think is the other person?

I have absolutely no idea. And I'm not 100% sure there was another person.

There's just a lot of conflicting witness reports, coupled with the fact that no one noticed him in the theater prior to the shooting.

I wish they would release something like vid of him buying the ticket

Be back later --- leaving my office cave now!

They still haven't explained how he was able to shave that goatee, grow in height and change his race between the time he took that phone call and when he came back dressed in tactical gear...

I do know that. :)
I also know that unraveling is not instantaneous.
When you watch it happen and she had to see it,
He did not get to the point of killing in 5 weeks. NO. He was already pretty unraveled.
YES she would have been able to get him committed, I know it takes many months to get
From a good student to a mess, and one who had killing on his mind had to leave a trail especially with a trained Dr. But we did read somewhere that she was not great at record keeping. (convenient I think)

In these days, access is cut off instantly with the click of a mouse. At my job, access is restricted immediately for every employee who leaves the company, or even goes on a leave of absence or medical leave, good circumstances or bad.

What a difference a few decades make. I also thought they were like a guard not official police.

That trail must be ice cold by now.

Why are you in some office cave? you need to be on some standup comedy show. I'd come to see you :) you crack me up.

Now that we are in the intermission. I would not at all be surprised if he did NOT do this alone.

I do know a little too much....
I have heard stories from parents that their kid was so sold on the harm they would create if they speak that many did not speak till long after the trial was over. Some were lucky, and got out eventually because the parents had money to go through a lot of support required to get the brain functioning enough to help their own case.

Can I believe he did it alone. Yes
Can I believe there was an accomplice- in light of mixed reviews - YES

Or him during the shooting on surveillance cameras, being detained in his car, removing gear, handcuffed, arrested, walking into the station, etc....

Sometimes I buy my ticket on line.

I wonder if there is a video of all the people as they come in at least.

That's what's so weird about this. I haven't seen any movie-goer videos before or during the shooting except that bouncy one we've all scene where someone with the backpack is holding open the door. Surely there were more? It was the Premiere. People were dressed up. Didn't they take pictures while waiting to get in? Where can we find them?

From what I understand the theater is well equipped with multiple security cameras (inside and outside)

Strange that absolutely no one in the theater or lobby before the film noticed a 6'3" guy with buggy eyes and the most awful looking "red" hair in Aurora...
