I remember testimony stating that he was watching a youtube video when she arrived early in the morning. At some point during the afternoon they attempted to look at pictures she had brought and couldnt because of a virus on his laptop. I could be wrong but I remember something about him throwing a cd and smashing it because he was so upset.

Not testimony, Def opening statements.

i everyone! :seeya: I'm a new poster, but long-time reader.

I began reading all of your (excellent) posts on the JA case five days ago! The past two days my eyes have been blood-shot red. I'm not sure if it is due to no sleep, no blinking, or both! I do know that my reading these posts are the reason. I just can't stop, it is like an addiction.

Anyway, I do have a question (or two?) and just can't seem to get caught up to see if they have already been answered somewhere in these threads. Forgive me, if it/they have been.

I just can't come up with a good reason for Jodi to wait to the very last minute to commit the murder. Why did she wait until minutes before the roommate was due home? Why not when Travis was vulnerable, in bed and naked? That was a great opportunity to shoot the gun, instead of the camera.

(Speaking of camera) Was she EXPECTING to change her mind? Why take pictures, unless to have evidence of their (perceived) sexual relationship? For Mimi to see? hmmm?

I know that there has been many discussions as to the possibility of her hoping Travis would change his mind and bring her along on the trip, instead of Mimi. But, then doesn't that negate the idea of her taking photos for evidence of their relationship?

I'm sorry, just thinking out loud here. I know that answers to these questions aren't necessary for the trial (or guilty conviction); however, (like a few other posters here) I like to get inside the mind of the killer. I simply cannot accept the idea of "well, she is just ___(insert label)" and leave it alone.

Hi sourgrapes. I know, this bothers me, too. Why spend all day there, do whatever they did, and then kill him at 5:30PM, when she was supposed to be in Utah! She called Ryan Burns the night before and said she would be in Utah the following morning!!! But then she diverted to Mesa and ended up being an entire day late to arrive in Utah. That's strange and I can't figure it out.

You need to put on the WhatWouldJodiDo glasses. :floorlaugh:

Knowing that the Defense atty. said in opening that JA killed him, I cannot understand any jury even wondering if anyone else is involved....aren't they the trier (tryer) of fact in the case meaning using the evidence presented???? I am so confused.

In the John Doe letter...JA wrote..You are driving away the Holy Ghost, and you are wasting your time. Of all the commandments to break, committing acts of whoredom is one of the most displeasing in the eyes of the Lord.

Maybe JB could explain it to us. Opps, that's right, I read an article this morning and even he said basically...the prosecution has it on lockdown with the picture and other evidence. Can't get much better than that unless there is a movie.

I think because she was so obsessed with Travis that she spent as much time with him as she could that last day. jmo

If you look at the photo of TA still in the shower (kind of an overhead view), the cup was found by his head. When they removed him from the shower, the cup must have rolled, and left the mark I think people are referring too

I am thinking she hoped to arrive there, kill Travis (and possibly Mimi) in his sleep, then scoot. Instead she found him still awake, he was exhausted (per roommate statement he only slept for 45 mins the previous night) and not in a mood to fight with JA, so they just went upstairs and went to bed. To sleep.

If it happened this way, though, I bet Jodi lay awake that whole time, rethinking how to kill TA now.

Only, it seems she could have shot him in his sleep. So that doesn't work.....hmmm

So maybe they DID go upstairs, but she pled and he declined and they argued for hours before some exhausted, sick relationship sex, and then when TA went to shower, thinking JA was gone, she attacked him because Plan A(kill him in his sleep) and Plan B(change his mind so I don't "have" to kill him) both failed.

I haven't read all the posts and this has probably been hashed out before by our astute websleuthers but I found it odd that no soap or shampoo is being used the whole time. Also, that he is leaning alot throughout, up against the wall, until he sits down at the end.

denial of mistrial and denial of felony murder being thrown out.

Beth Karas just announced on InSession that the judge has denied the defense motions:

1. For mistrial due to prosecutorial misconduct.

2. To toss out Felony Murder

We are good to go on those!

Um. Wow!

Good post. It never occurred to me that there was no soap, shampoo, loofah, nothing in at least the 8 mins of photos we have seen of TA in the shower.

Very interesting!

Gus Searcy to testify Monday in regards to prosecutorial misconduct but no idea what the misconduct was this time per In Session.

I am re-watching the cross of ME, and it occurs to me that the sequence of the wounds is very important to them. I believe they already know the sequence, and are going to use that (either by Jodi's testimony, or in their closing) to bolster their self defense claim. Since we are only making an educated guess to try to figure that out, they have the upper hand in that area. I don't think it has anything to do with the cruelty factor, and what would it have to do with the premeditation?
Why would the defense go to so much trouble in their cross since they acknowledge her guilt? I think they are trying to tailor the testimony to the scenario she has given them - or in the alternative, at least the story they believe will (weather from her or not) will bolster self defense.

It was a trap, a photo shoot meant only to get Travis in a confined & vulnerable position to thrust that knife into his chest. IMO

denial of mistrial and denial of felony murder being thrown out.

The word already coming to mind concerning the defense, has been mentioned years ago by Jeff Ashton - smarmy.
And unfortunately, I believe the defense will live up to that word in the coming days.

Vinnie P just said he was a little worried about what this jury was thinking!

He's not alone. Please don't let this be another FCA debacle. Please.

I think before that last photo of travis was taken they had a massive row she got dressed and pretended to go and he went into the shower to think .I have been known to just slump down in the shower to cry after an argument . Thats why i think his eyes look red from crying.

Yes, but if you look closely at the pic of the two of them at the waterfall, his eyes look red to me there, too. I just think when his eyes got wet, they tended to redden a bit. Happens to lots of folks.
