Hi sourgrapes. I know, this bothers me, too. Why spend all day there, do whatever they did, and then kill him at 5:30PM, when she was supposed to be in Utah! She called Ryan Burns the night before and said she would be in Utah the following morning!!! But then she diverted to Mesa and ended up being an entire day late to arrive in Utah. That's strange and I can't figure it out.

She said Travis asked her to come over and she thought oh what the heck and did so. This was of course another lie. All of it was planned to make it look like nothing was planned. Does that make sense?

Vinnie just said a reported (recently, I believe) just walked right in the jail, and interviewed Jodi for 45 min - off the record.
He was convinced of her story, but will not publish.

Probably will appear in National Enquirer or other same publication!

I am re-watching the cross of ME, and it occurs to me that the sequence of the wounds is very important to them. I believe they already know the sequence, and are going to use that (either by Jodi's testimony, or in their closing) to bolster their self defense claim. Since we are only making an educated guess to try to figure that out, they have the upper hand in that area. I don't think it has anything to do with the cruelty factor, and what would it have to do with the premeditation?
Why would the defense go to so much trouble in their cross since they acknowledge her guilt? I think they are trying to tailor the testimony to the scenario she has given them - or in the alternative, at least the story they believe will (weather from her or not) will bolster self defense.

I thought the same thing during the cross exam -- they have the benefit of knowing the sequence (if Jodi told her lawyers the truth)

I agree. We will never know what happened to Travis that day. She will never tell the truth.

never.

But I think when (if) she takes the stand she will do an addition to the current story and it will be a whopper!

If we hear those recorded phone sex calls and Travis actually says his fantasy is to have sex with a 12 year old.... I'm gonna get pretty upset.

Not saying it will change anything about my opinions on this case and his murder.

Watching Dr. Horn again now on IS.

Why did Flores make up his conversation with Dr. Horn, and Dr. Horn's initial opinions in that investigative report? Dr. Horn says he doesn't recall ever even having spoken to Flores and that he would never have said the gunshot came first. He does not recall he spoke to Flores about anything!

This looks really bad for the prosecution. At least to me.

The word truth and Jodi don't belong in the same sentence. IMO

She's either an amazing manipulator or the women there have the intelligence of socks. Since they're locked up... I'm going with the latter.

Did you watch the video, with the reporter who interviewed her? It may be the push she needs to take the stand.

And I'm sure there are screenwriters just waiting for it!

But what scares the bejeezus outta me is that it MIGHT change the jurors opinions.

What I heard and saw in court does sound fishy.

Here's the minute entry. It pertains to the text message and felony murder motions made on 1/17. The judge too them under advisement and the rulings were filed today.

http://www.courtminutes.maricopa.gov/docs/Criminal/012013/m5600778.pdf

The best part of that..
.The court finds substantial evidence to support a conviction on a felony murder theory based upon the evidence presented at trial. The court also finds there is substantial evidence to warrant a conviction on both of the charged theories of First Degree Murder based upon the evidence presented at trial.

Watch the video..I know, I would rather read it too. But the reporter talks about his experience of interviewing her.

I usually am at work during the day so I have had to watch clips of the trial on youtube, etc.

But hearing the testimony in full without relying on transcripts, is a totally different experience.

IMO, Dr. Horn doesn't like Flores much.

I find I am picking up more information when re-watching, and wonder if the jury is able to pick up on every little thing with just the one fast and furious testimony.
Are they able to just ask for more written evidence, or can they actually see the recordings of the trial again?

I think it is all innocent. I mean he did speak to the Detective because they spoke during the autopsy. It just doesn't sound like it was a serious straight facts conversation but one of generalities regarding what was going on during the autopsy and it left Flores with the impression the GSW came first. jmo

I think this was explained pretty well. Flores was present at the autopsy observing from behind a glass wall, but there was no interaction between them at that time. Flores later testified that he misunderstood what Horn had said or concluded during the autopsy and also that his initial conclusion about the sequence was based on Jodi's description of the intruder attack.

Even though it has been explained, I do get the impression that the state's witnesses (Melendez, Horn and Flores, in particular) are kind of leaning over backwards to frame their testimony in the way the prosecutor wants them too. As a result, sometimes their testimony is unclear and leads to these types of issues
