Katie,
Not only did I read the page you linked, but the link on that page to the front page story.
I am at a loss for words for what you and your family have gone through. You have probably heard hundreds of condolences , so let me add to that how I admire the strength, stamina, and bravery you possess.
I sincerely thank you for sharing what must still be a nightmare for you.
Do you mind if I ask what your feelings are toward Anke Dorn? Do you view that situation as a necessary evil?
Odd that this case involves PPL insurance - though differing motives.
Wish I could send you a cyber hug.

THanks JJ...I don't want to dominate this forum with our case unless it helps answer related questions...I will write you though answering your question. Yes and the insurance angle is also a kind of overlap. Thanks for the kind words. I actually am doing very well in life all things considered. So is the rest of my family. I remember having a very clear thought in court the day one of them was convicted "they may have taken Cindy's life but they aren't gonna get mine" which has kind of guided my years.

Obviously she lied during voir dire so it would have been appropriate to send a note to the judge and I would think she would have been replaced by an alternate. I had a friend who was on a jury and one of the jurors admitted he lied and she sent a note to the judge. The judge asked to speak with her in his chambers without the other jurors being aware and the juror who lied was immediately replaced. This person was in the legal field so she knew it was wrong. I guess some people feel uncomfortable reporting other's but if jurors know it's wrong the court appreciates them reporting it. jmo

Thankfully, I am not one of those people! Never was, even as a child watching my neighbor beating his dog, I reported his butt, cussed him out and told him I was gonna do it! I called the police and the SPCA. Action to my satisfaction did not happen soon enough for me, so I removed that poor dog one night and gave him to my aunt. Who was as huge of an animal lover as myself. Some may call that stealing. I don't.

My parents...were not happy by this. Oh well.

nor does he have the authority to accept an offer by the Defendant.

Carolina Moon - what a FIND. I started reading those but my eyes went buggy. I would love to know more about this.
Thanks for a great post.

Well, that's it, except for a recess. The minutes don't say what was said, only the results.

I read all the minutes one day (LOL, no trial, do homework) and copied and pasted the things I found interesting. Needless to say, that was one of them.

I love to read the documents and went nuts on the Casey Anthony case. I have two file boxes of documents I printed out to annotate during the trial.

The other day, I wasn't surprised when the judge denied the motions because the same exact issues had already been decided against the defense.

Anyone think there is a shower, a gun, and a knife being used in a reenactment this weekend to see if Jodi's story is really going to work for that SD claim?
I vote for Kermi for the naked guy.

I don't think they can use a substitute gun or knife. If they had the actual murder weapons, maybe.

Is Kermi the ME?

I'm also watching Discovery ID and when the man went to the police about the stalking, the officer didn't take it seriously. No wonder Travis would not report this to the police. Who would believe him?

Llast night I saw a show that does oting of scams on dating sites where they used google image search and apparently you drag a photo and google does a pixle search thingy (you can see I am not technical) to find that this person lifted and copied a photo from another site. Could this be done with this phot to see if appears elsewhere on net. Has anyone tried this before?

I'm very very I interested in that also. Anyone that can explain that process here?

Carolina, Not trying to steal you thunder, but you got me started on those again. Do have any legal background to interpret this following in the minutes of 8/10?
My humble interpretation is that they will wait to decide weather the experts may testify as to what Jodi specifically recounted, or only in general.
Is that your take?

IT IS ORDERED granting Defense Counsel’s Oral Motion for the Court to hold off on
ruling in the State’s Motion in Limine to Preclude Certain Testimony from Defendant’s Expert to
Preclude Hearsay Statements of Victim filed 06/27/2011 until the trial has begun and before
those expert witnesses testify, if they testify.

Typo - Nurmi. NOT that he is attractive, but just to humble him by putting him in that position.
I really don't think he could even fit in a shower that small. Dirty or not. lol

I believe you can. I know she did and she wasn't the foreman. She also was surprised no one else reported him. So how many other things slip by because jurors are unsure what to do about this type of situation. As I said she was in the legal field so she knew he was wrong to have lied and caught the lie right away. jmo

Most people prefer to be sheep and go with the flow.

I'm a very outspoken person in real life. Isn't much if keep my mouth shut about. But when surrounded by like minded individuals who don't share my point of view, I've kept my mouth shut. With me... I do it more out of respect when I find myself surrounded by Christians... I'm an atheist. My point being... I have felt that pressure that I believe the vast majority feels all the time. Its much easier to just be a sheep and go with the flow.

But they DID! It took LE very long to get there, and they had to leave, but the call and reason for it are documented.
I'm surprised Juan didn't bring that up.

I'm not a legal eagle, just a good reader and avid watcher of trials. FWIW, the State has asked that the testimony of the experts not include anything Jodi told them. It is hearsay and, unless it is against Jodi's self-interest, it cannot be used at trial. There are other reasons for hearsay, but I don't know them all, especially in AZ. Listen to defense counsel use a bunch of other reasons it should come in.

I'm sure that is one of the evidentiary motions we will hear on Monday.

In general, hearsay is not allowed in the courtroom. There are exceptions, however. Generally, in the case of defendants, hearsay is usually only accepted in the courtroom if it is something the defendant said to someone that does not help her in her case, ie: against self-interest.

I can't wait to see the defense try and get what Jodi said to the DV expert into testimony. You can be sure Jodi said everything to make her case for self-defense. After all, she is a most prolific liar!

Not initially. I'm wondering if Travis didn't want to aggravate her and/or didn't want to air his dirty laundry.

Thank you so much for your interpretation and for bring those once again, to my attention.
I'm not trying to have you reveal things out of order, but do I have to go through all the entries to see if that recorded phone call will be allowed, or can you point me in the right direction??? lol
I have trouble believing the DT would bring it up in opening if it hadn't already been approved.
Now 'I'm all excited!

I want to know why the police didn't respond when called right after the second tire slashing incident!
Was there some hostage situation at the bank? Was there an outbreak of the trots that caused every officer to take a seat on toilets at the same time?

If you go to google.com, along the top of the page there is a link for images. Click on the images and then drag your picture to the box and click for the search.

Good thing you're one of the "good guys".

One thing that just occurred to me. It would not be out of the realm of possibility to see Jodi try and fire her attorneys during the course of this trial. It would not be out of the realm of possibility for her to try and "flip her story yet once again, claim she wasn't there (again) and didn't do it. Claim her attorneys coerced her to admitting she did it.

Now that would be interesting , legally, in a DP trial. But it would not surprise me in the least. Esp after she's heard the jury questions.

Thoughts?

Devastating. I just read in those minutes Carolina pointed me to that Jodi was able to phone two of the defense wittiness during her short time as her own legal representation.
This is complete manipulation of the court, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if she tried to "Use" the court once again.

Haha I learned from watching the Catfish show. I tried it with my picture and all it showed me was baby pictures! So not sure how good it really is because I sure am not a baby. lol
