One of my sister's killers' attorneys requested delays and delays for this mental retardation mini trial putting my 70 something (then) father on hold literally for years as he (we) had to retestify. Once they finally landed on a firm date, my father had a prepaid trip to China which the Judge refused to push back the hearing for ONE WEEK so my Dad could go. After 7 yrs of adjusting his life around proposed dates, it ended up he had to cancel that trip and will likely never go now.

In that hearing the Judge was the only finder of fact, was a known DP opponent, ruled every single thing in favor of the defense and in the end ruled he was mentally retarded (after ruling that no evidence could be submitted of his behavior after the age of 18...meaning the CRIME with it's sophisticated premeditation and cover up could not be admitted as evidence toward this new sentencing for THAT CRIME). Talk about insanity. Millions of dollars...MILLIONS. OUR money. Our system in so many ways is so insanely skewed toward the evil worst of the worst in our culture it's ...inject your own adjective. Scary doesn't do it.

I just know how hard it is to get and keep a murderer in prison. This man, after having spent nearly 2 decades in prison on DEATH ROW almost was put in a position where he would be up for parole in 5 more years I think. I drove by myself out of town to read this Impact Statement and the State's atty told me he thought this was the reason our biased Judge didn't give him a new sentence that could allow for a possible release (this was her last case before she retired...it was so obvious where her head was at).

Ms. Katie, I am so sorry for everything your family has suffered.

And the sadly ironic fact is that despite all the legal maneuvering, we still manage to execute more than a few innocent people every year.

I don't want to make this about politics, but I think you and your family would have been better served by a sentence of LWOP, one that would have exiled the killer to relative obscurity. (I also oppose the DP on moral grounds, but my heart breaks to hear the treatment of your family.)

He was trying to get rid of her and I seriously doubt he would keep it around when he had the dog sitter sleeping in his room while he was gone. Plus his roommates admitted TA allowing them to go into his bathroom to get medications. Not something someone like TA would want around. That is a JA thing as she seems to be the one who is experienced, ready and willing to.......at the drop of a hat.

I think she brought an extra large bottle because she wanted it to show up on the camera. Not sure what she hoped to accomplish but it sure looks like she wanted those pictures to convince someone they were having sex. jmo

Totally agree. Great post.

I have a question. Has anything been said here about her artwork being sold and a person buying 2 of her pieces left Ebay feedback saying she was a cold blooded killer?

I can make out a face, but it looks like a negative. the flash is maybe 1/4 in to the left - (her right) of her mouth?
I see the braid - on her left - correct? And the left side of her is superimposed over the full person I see.
The image I see - I can't see the very top of her head. Where's the hat Linask?
I couldn't make snot of the last pic, but this one popped out clear as day to me. First the full person, then the face.

Try tilting your screen.
Okay, I think I finally did it! Took me awhile with my dinosaur of a desktop, and I'm rusty with Photoshop and Illustrator. But here it is, I changed it to grayscale, think it's clearer without all the red.

I see a tortilla.

Wow. The more you look at it the more you can see. I can see a face. Eye, nose and mouth. Face looks green in this picture. Sort of like the Wicked Witch of the West. jmo

Well--yes how many things are skimmed over because jurors are not as informed as they should be? I should have made sure something was done. That was 10 years ago and I know that now, today, I would not let this slip by. I would keep trying to insist that the foreman send a note and if that failed, I would send the judge a note myself.

I hope you have forgiven yourself. I've been on several juries (and worked for decades at law firms) and the courtroom is still a foreign land to me.

We are raised with the idea that "snitching" is wrong. It isn't easy under alien conditions to ignore than conditioning.

Haha...that's the best you are going to get in super low light and a photo being pixelated thousands of times. But, what am I missing? I thought we were all on the same page that Jodi killed him in the shower while taking pictures of him? If her reflection WAS seen (which it won't be by anyone viewing it online) then why is that a surprise? Not meaning you, callyn...just in general.

BBM

The body language expert on In Session said it showed arrogance and guilt.

It was the woman, I can't recall her name, sorry.

Janine Driver! :D:seeya:

No but I saw that earlier.

I want to thank Katiecoo for the links to both documentaries: Dear Zachary and The Hillside Strangler. Especially during the trial hiatus.

They give such insights in to the psychopaths themselves but also to the people surrounding them. Ken Bianchi's common law wife had NO IDEA the monster she was living with, and she seemed quite normal and nice to me.

The Turner woman had Judges going to bat for her. WTH?

I mean, even the very sweet normal appearing hair stylist, who had never met Ken was willing to give him an alibi for a few days before she realized she couldn't do it!?

Much to think about indeed during this break.

I am also so sorry Katiecoo for what you have endured at the profound loss of your beloved sister. She is very proud of you for standing up and being her voice in court. She was with you there.

Thank you so much Frigga. :)

Yeah not only did Shirley Turner have Judges going to bat for her bat***** craziness but one of her PSYCHIATRISTS posted bail for her.

I always say NEVER underestimate the manipulative power of a sociopath. If evil exists on this Earth (and I don't claim to really understand that ) then this is what it looks like.

Thank you for the kind words as well about my family. :)

Can somebody help me out here? I don't have a MySpace account so I can't see Mr Ninja.

I don't know if your question was answered or not but you don't have to have a myspace account to look at that site, unlike FB. HTH

Whew, just got the grandboys to bed! Checking in, on photobucket, a user named "was thinking" has posted the pics of the shower, in sequence, and with the timed pauses between shots. Very effective. In addition, the same user has a shot of one of the Walmart Reciepts.......she. Bought 2 facial cleanser, 1 five gallon kerosene carboy (which is a container for kerosene, not kerosene itself......but you could put gas in it, and 2 items which end in 85BNS.......THAT'S hair color! Meaning #85 Brown. I was so excited I called a friend who's husband works in inventory at Wal mart and he did confirm that for me.

Well done! So that was bought at the Salinas Walmart around 3pm on June 3, right? That would mean she had already spent the night in Monterey if my time/date is right.

Thank you! I tried to remember but old age got the best of me. :-)

I love her....I rewatched her segment today. She was an interrogator herself before she got in to this field of lie detection. Or whatever she calls it. :waitasec:

Maybe the image is inverse like looking into a spoon... :floorlaugh:

Sorry but I don't think you can see what someone is seeing by looking in their eyes. Not big on body language or astrology or unicorns either...JMO

But what are your thoughts on Wicca? And Jesus in a Cheetoh?:floorlaugh:
