How would you ever sleep, after having to do what she had to do, I mean self-defense and all ?

And according to HER story, she hadn't slept the night before either!!
I believe it was something like talking to Ryan till the we hours, and then she was somewhere at 5 something AM.

AH - I see a defense claim here. Sleep deprived!! haha

For instance, Juan could have showed only the time and cc# without divulging what was purchased. And he certainly knew it was odd about the gas - but the DT didn't bring it up either??????????
Sorry - don't get it.
And that's fine - but for the jury not to get it is something else all together.

It's possible he is not finished or just covering his bases. jmo

She admits sleeping at TA's until 1pm. That would have been about 8 hours of sleep. jmo

I'm expecting the bits will all be woven together in closing statements. Unless he has witnesses to testify to specifics his hands are kind of tied until then.

I sure hope they haven't forgotten the first part of the story by then. lol
Just seems like there's many, many loose ends, leaving the jury to speculate.

I know. I know I shouldn't second guess him, and I pray you are right about bringing it all together.

That gas thing really gets me. Juan went over the receipts, and was obviously getting at something beyond the fact that it was the same credit card number.
I wish he could have clarified for peeps like me, and possibly the jury. I have a bad felling that he's overestimating the jury's powers of deduction.

I agree! But I got the feeling that Juan was not all that familiar with the receipts and had not looked into them in great detail. The thing that concerns me is there are several instances that sort of point to another person being with her.

-Rental car guy said there was a man with her when she rented car
-on her way to Mesa it looks like she purchased gas for two cars at the same time
- after Mesa it looks like she purchased gas for 2 cars at the same time
- she bought 2 facial cleaners and 2 hair dyes

That needs to be explained IMO. - not that it will make a difference whether she's found guilty, but if she had help disposing of evidence or whatever, that should be thoroughly investigated.

She actually told Detective Flores in the second taped interrogation that she slept really well the night at Travis and had also gotten a good nights sleep the night before.

That is at odds with the OTHER story she told about being on the phone with Ryan.

Probably none of these things really matter and won't ever be explained in a satisfying way. And in the end they have nothing to do with her guilt. But these little details still just big me because they make no sense.

Why did she buy TWO bottles of facial cleanser as well? Why wouldn't one be sufficient? Is there another use for facial cleanser than its obvious use?

Is it possible to remove blood stains with facial cleansers?

I agree that's what she SAID.

More likely she was doing murder prep.

I think one of the roommates saw Travis and spoke to him briefly on Wednesday morning. Obviously Jodi was not seen and neither was her car. Possible she was watching the house and waiting for roommates to leave before making her entrance.

Who wants to just sit around while someone else is cleaning. It stood out to me, and was very strange.

You clearly haven't been to my house! :floorlaugh:

But they DO have to do with premeditation.

1. Who colors their hair on the road? And why, if not to appear as someone else she was setting up for the crime?

2. No gas receipts while she is ON THE WAY to T's. Let alone the way back. It's the way there (premeditation) that counts.

3. Money to spend while she's in AZ with no trace - premeditation. Why would she care if she uses cash or cc if she hadn't planned the whole thing in advance?

Rental guy was Leslie's husband, lady who testified last for the State and is a friend of JA.
JA purchased 2, 3 gallon cans for fuel @ Walmart and could have had more in the trunk.
2 hair dyes could be because her hair is so long she may have required two. one bottle would cover someone with normal length hair.

Two facial cleaners, have no idea unless she was thinking about using them to remove blood stains. No sure it would work but they are cleaners. jmo

I think all those points were made.

I agree. But one niggling thing. Did she go back to her home after she picked up the rental?
Where would she have gotten the "more" containers in her trunk? She had to get them somewhere AFTER she rented the car. And the gas purchases were for more than what would have fit in the two containers she bought.

I'm going with the "more" containers in her trunk too, as my best guess, but where did they come from?
More proof of premeditation if she brought them from home, and possibly transferred them from her car to the rental.

Leslie's husband drove her to the rental car place? I missed that.
