Hello dear WS folks. I have been devouring your insightful and spirited discussions for the past week after suppressing my own ideas and theories and I finally decided to chime in after carefully reading Det. Flores report, especially since one thing waved a huge red flag at me and seemed to be as yet unaddressed
Forgive me for the length of my spew as I have many pent up opinions and observations, some based on personal experiences with MLM organizations like PPL.
Firstly, did anyone else find it odd that Detective Flores initial investigative report
http://grahamwinch.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/floresinvestigationreport.pdf noted (page 3) As we waited for other detectives to arrive to assist with the investigation, I received information from Travis friends at the scene, that Jodi Arias had called them and wanted to know what was going on. She had also mentioned that she wanted to talk to the investigating Officers. WTH???
Here are a few of my other notes/observations:
Someone commented on the possible shadiness of people in an MLM business such as PPL. I have been involved with my husband in this industry for six+ years and it is all about swaying people to believe that there can be tremendous financial rewards if you recruit lots of people to sell your product/service. While it is true that some people make fortunes in these businesses, the vast majority make little to nothing. At its base, MLM opportunities are pyramid schemes. I attended hundreds of MLM meetings, conventions and executive banquets and exclusive trips where I was introduced to, interacted with and full-on partied with leaders (lots of alcohol) at events and watched them preach passionately on stages that would have rivaled a Madonna concert in terms of lighting and special effects. Coincidentally, many of the more successful people in the business were of the LDS faith.

If you dont care to read through the link, my understanding through first-hand experience is that many MLM businesses originate in Utah and/or have a large contingent of LDS people working in their organizations. The theory is this: Mormon boys are required to do a 2-year mission upon graduation from high school, where they are sent off to places far from home (including international destinations) to live on their own or board with Mormon families to spread the gospel of LDS & produce new recruits. They do not have physical contact/visitation with family members during their time away, even during holidays. (Possibly, you have seen/been approached by the white shirted boys on bicycles?) During their missions, they develop fearlessness when it comes to approaching people to pitch the Mormon faith. As a result, when they return home, they are 1) deficient as far as college/university education is concerned and 2) are guided into a recruitment phase that produces excellent candidates for MLM businesses given their training as enrollers to the LDS church. Not sure at what age Travis converted perhaps it was beyond the mandated missionary years, but no doubt he was taught the mission of indoctrinating others into the faith and he also needed to recruit people into his business. As a former MLM executive myself, I have personally known and frequently interacted with many attractive young men like Travis who, because of their charisma and notoriety within the MLM organization have been extremely attractive to women - including a few of those who were on my own team. In addition, I know first-hand of several top-performing male leaders who wooed PYTs (pretty young things) many, many times and who were eventually dumped after their true colors came through. Both hubby and I see how Jodi would be attracted to Travis, and we agree that it was HER psychosis that led to this brutal execution and that Travis did NOTHING to deserve his fate his only downfall was being a normal, sexual male who was seduced by a pretty and willing girl who lacked self-esteem but had tremendous experience in the tools of seduction. Indeed, what 20-something man could truly resist a beguiling temptress like Jodi, esp when she asserts herself (as in her mounting Ryan the next day?) in fact, we discussed possible scenarios within our own MLM team where there were young women who were enamored by one of the leaders in the organization, only to quit the biz when they realized there wasnt a chance at getting Mr. X, Executive Vice President of _ _ _ to acknowledge/date them
Regarding Jodis trip from Mesa to Utah. It was reported that her calls/voicemail post-mortem to Travis were made 250 miles from Mesa. As someone who lives in Las Vegas and has traveled many times to both Phoenix and Salt Lake City, I estimate that she would have been in Las Vegas/Henderson via I-93 when she made the calls. Also, the drive from Vegas to SLC via I-15 is about 6 hours which means she should have arrived there at approximately 6:00 am. However, Ryan stated she arrived around 11:00/noon. So there are about 6 hours unaccounted for at this leg of her trip Did she take a sleepover rest stop in Vegas? Further to this travel scenario, she would have to cross the Colorado River by either going over Hoover Dam or the Pat Tillman bridge. Could she have possibly tossed the murder weapons over the dam/bridge and into either Lake Mead or the river?
One last observation re her phone records that evening. Prior to leaving the post-murder voicemail for Travis, she placed a 30-second call to him. My thought is that she started to leave a message here, abandoned it (maybe she flubbed the script?) then called again to leave the voicemail that we heard. When she subsequently called and listened to his messages (16 minutes), perhaps she wanted to hear her own message to make sure it sounded kosher and delete her original (1st attempt) message.
My apologies if any of this has been analyzed/discussed in earlier threads. All theories are IMHO.
Ps does anyone else think that Jennifer Willmott is wearing a wig? Hair never changes day to day
catty I know but just an observation
Thanks for letting me share with you all. Keep the faith!
