I remember seeing him on TV and he asked Jodi if she wore the magic underwear (Mormon) because he didn't feel one and she said no the magic was what is inside the underwear. I remember that. LOL and isn't he the guy that said that he had a Spanish couple and his Spanish wasn't very good and Jodi leapt right in and talked fluently to the couple. And this is after it was reported the Jodi aka the Whiz had completed her GED and could now speak in sign language and Spanish fluently?

Sounds to me like the DT didn't do any follow-up on what GS told them re: phone call. And they weren't prepared for Martinez being TOTALLY prepared.

They took GS's shady word on what went down, and didn't question CH themselves to follow through, which probably ended up just wasting time and tax dollars on a lousy attempt to get a ruling in their favor.

Throwing anything and everything against the wall to see what might stick, on the dime of John Q. Taxpayer. I know that she is entitled to a defense, but they were so ill-prepared. Another day, another dollar...

When LE and prosecution is gathering information isn't it normal for them to ask if there is anyone else who could provide information? Could be how Gus Searcy got added? The timing was right and A told B and B told C, etc.

minor4th, is there a legal problem with Sky and Chris Hughes having access/knowledge of the witness lists? What's the basis of this misconduct charge?

Is Chris Hughes on the witness list and not supposed to be watching media? Is he not allowed to contact another witness? I don't get the point.

OMG! I almost clicked off of this in the first minute as I couldn't stand to hear more from him but I decided to hang in there to see the proposal part. . . .

I am just sickened! He did not even hug his fiance! When he finally did he "patted her on the back" with the proverbial "platonic pat" which is the univeral "you are not getting any (sex)" pat between 2 different sexes.

It was so sad to watch his non-verbal actions as they appeared to be all so un-emotional. He doesn't appear to be emotionally invested in this relationship - just a "sideshow Bob" circus clown.

I am just beside myself . . . . I am feeling so sorry for this woman - what a farce!


ETA: She really needs to reconize the signs of "he's not that into you"!

Why would the defense motion be filed under seal if not to blindside the prosecution and prevent them from preparing a rebuttal? Why were they allowed to file a motion under seal anyway?

What I have pulled from this today, is that GS was "shopping" himself to both sides of the case with a nugget of info that could benefit either side (which usually means it's irrelevant so no one cares.)

No one wanted it, so he then shopped this phone call to the defense where he made wild exaggerations about what was said, and the Prosecution can show that they have had no contact with CH in years, so it is all moot.

IMO, this might be their (Defense) weakest attempt at a mistrial, or whatever, thus far in the case. The good to come out of this for the defense, is that now they know how douchey GS appears on the stand, so they can try to coach the douchiness out of him, or scrap him all-together.

I am curious what that witness Gus was insinuating when he said it could hurt her (jodi) or free her and then changed it to 'it could free her or hurt her' after Chris Hughes knocked some sanity into the guy by reminding him that Jodi had already confessed to the cold blooded killing.

I wonder if Gus was involved in those letters JA wrote pretending to be Travis and writing that he was a pedophile etc?
