I wonder how 'accepting' the Mormon community will be towards ol Gus Searcy now after he had his day in court? Is Gus Mormon too? I doubt his fan base will grow any after today.

My bet is he's not. But if he is, it disproves my theory that a member of the Mormon community would not cross the line to say anything in favor of JA or in the least unflattering about TA.

I don't consider it "Jodi bashing" when this individual is an accomplished, unwavering liar who slaughtered a naked man in his own home in his own shower. I've listened to her own words for far too long through numerous story changes and interrogations over months and years. Eventually she got herself some lawyers who couldn't recuse themselves from working on her case and they landed on the only defense that she hadn't already used herself, so SELF DEFENSE it was. I know I'm not the only one here who doesn't solely rely on the media, I've seen more than my share of court documents and accounts that won't even make it into trial as the defense has fought to keep out because they will damn their client right to a guilty verdict.

I'm not sure what the "Travis train" is, but while I don't find the need to canonize a murder victim, I don't find it necessary to deem someone creepy and such because in their personal life, he (a 30 year old single man) wanted to engage in consensual sex with a very VERY willing partner while persuing better things for himself and his future. I would only find it necessary to point out the discrepancies in a negative light if I was her defense attorney trying to paint him in a horrible, abusive hypocritical manner. I went to Catholic school, I saw more than my share of Catholic followers doing things I may not have approved of especially given their "daytime personna" but it wasn't my business. On the other hand, Catholic priests and little boys- a different story.

Guess this is an agree to disagree. I'm not going to critisize a young mormon's sexual activities' especially when he or she is a murder victim about to be put on trial while six feet under. Have all the anal sex one's heart desires, consensually. I'm not seeing that red flag. That's just me. Agree to disagree.

I agree 100%, and could not have said it any better. Thank you, Lotus. :)

One thing I just noticed in CH testimony. He says something like "what do you mean, Gus, she has already admitted that she murdered him in cold blood".
When exactly did the DT come up with the SD claim?
Please, be careful, CH.

In 2010, the phone call was 2013.

I'm not sure if anyone in any community would have anything favourable to say about this savage murderer.

Yeah but when the defense said "hey, you didn't tell me you had this witness coming" (referring to CH), Juan countered with, "yeah well you didn't tell me what the issue was so I made some assumptions" (paraphrasing).

So Juan either knew, thus having CH there, or didn't know, in which case he wouldn't have said "no one told me..."

I'll have to watch the video and get back to you because I don't know what all was said immediately prior to the comments. It could be that the basis for the witness is that DT wanted to get something on record and the only way to do so was having the witness come and testify personally. This makes sense now!!! I'm thinking DT's motion was on an issue they couldn't bring up directly bc it falls under attorney-client privilege (no-one will EVER know what was said in that case). More than likely JA told DT something and they only way they could get it in was to have the person say it himself. Again, I need to watch the clip in it's entirety, but at least that makes sense as to why it was so hush-hush.

Unless...she continued South from Pasadena to Yorba Linda, then went East to Arizona. That would account for the extra hour.

So, did she do a driveby. lol Enough for hi/bye. That's about it. Would be interesting to hear if she did visit him. I think not because he was not called as a witness for the trial, only the hearing. jmo

In reading the past few pages of posts, I get the feeling that there might be a troll or more trying to stir the pot here.

I'm not going to respond, nor rehash any prior ridiculous arguments. Is there any way to block a specific poster here? Just curious, and TIA! :)

While I am not one to try a case by media, Isn't all the bashing of Jodi without knowing the defense evidence character assasination? (your words not mine)

I am just not going to ride the Travis train until all the evidence is heard.
I am entitled to my own opinion even if it differs from your opinion. ]
I am simply saying that all the media hype about his character is contradicted by his anal sex theory. ESPECALLY, when he is being characterized as a great Morman. ESPECALLY, when he helped convert her to Mormonism and baptized her. In my church, their is responsibility with those whom you "bring in." To me, that is a big red flag.

Um, hello, she DID admit to killing him. :banghead:

i don't like it at all. especially in a DP case. this case should progress to its conclusion without all these breaks and days off or they shouldn't have started it until that was possible. i don't think it's fair to EITHER side. i also don't like this jury running around loose with all this free time.

if this trial had taken place in texas, it would've lasted maybe 2 weeks (tops) and been over with.

I agree. The one small silver lining is that it has allowed me to both keep up with the trial and keep up with my life. If it was day after day after day, I would have to give up some of my life. :floorlaugh:

I'm just surprised that we haven't heard anything of them publically ex-communicating her! She's committed the biggest sins in Mormonism!!!

GS' calendar claims he was in Santa Cruz on 6/2 at a conference which started at 7pm. JA was in Lodi, CA which is 2 hours away when she stopped for gas and something to eat. JA claims to have seen a friend in Santa Cruz on 6/21On 6/3 she was in Pasadena at 8:41pm at Starbucks. It's a six plus hour trip to Mesa, AZ. If she arrived around 4am when did she have time for a side trip to Yorda Linda on 6/3??????? So someone is lying. jmo

Maybe David Hughes was mistaken about them seeing each other in LA.

However, in JA's interrogation video with Flores, she says she went to Santa Cruz on Jun 2 and then stayed with friends in Monterey that night, then saw friends the next day (the day she went to K-Mart).

If you go to your user control panel there is an edit ignore list option.
I have not used it but it is there. :)

I have never heard that TA trashed her in front of his friends. Nor did he report her for stalking. It was his friends who spoke among themselves and tried to convince TA she was not right for him. I have yet to see where his friends say he admitted to having sex with her of any kind. It appears they just presumed it was happening because of the way Jodi acted towards him in public. This is what I have heard up to this point. But if you have a link with what you are stating as fact I'd will indeed read it. Thanks. jmo
I read it on one of the sites that's covering the trial. I'll see if I can dredge it up.

There's the ignore feature, but if other people quote them, you'll still see what they post. There will always be murder groupies and people who defend them, barf barf.

I use Firefox, don't know what version. How would I find that out?

On the pull-down menu at the top, click on Help and About. The current version is 18.0.1. If you have an older version, it should start to download and update automatically unless you have a really old version. In that case, get the current version here:

Thank God. I was thinking the phone call was 3 years ago.
Thanks for setting me straight. I was a little worried.

BBM - Just because he knocked on the back door didn't mean she had to let him in (repeatedly by the looks of it). I think a person's character is more contradicted when they are are charged with premeditated murder, but that's just me.

Great point. As Juan pointed out with the last prosecution witness, JA's friend did NOT really know her that well between those sex shots and oh yeah, the picture of her dragging his bloody body across his bathroom floor.

Nothing like stealing your grandpa's gun, renting a car, driving a few thousand miles, dying your hair, having sex to disarm a guy (surefire way, IMO), calling friends then shutting off your phone to create alibi, leaving voicemail for your deceased murder victim, checking his voicemail, going to Chili's with friends after murder, and grinding on another Mormon man after murder to keep consistent with that sweet, soft-spoken, woe-is-me, victimized, abused character.

Can't wait to hear the "expert" make up "studies and research" to explain how THAT all makes sense.

Well, we ALL heard Gus Searcy mentioned in court. I just don't remember if it was in front of the jury or not. But the fact of the matter is that his name was televised, as well as there being a mention of Lisa Andrews, there was a big to do over the defense wanting her to appear. It was not a big secret....we all knew, and anybody else who was watching the trial on that day.

So clearly Travis had real friends who are watching this trial. If I was his friend I would have picked up the phone and called Sky and told her, or maybe she saw it for herself. Chris says SHE told him about GS, and he called and asked what's up, or texted to that effect.

So now, Chris has spilled the beans that the DEFENSE lied to him and his wife about those letters which were forged. If I had been Nurmi I would have just skipped over that bit now he went and did a lot of mumbling about "finding the emails" and such. I do. I cannot see how this tactic can possibly turn out well for the defense.....and see even less reason for all the smirking that was going on over at that table today.

I hope I'm posting this correctly..I'm new and learning my way around still..

Jodi was totally Smirky McSmirkytons today! I noticed that too at the defense table!
