It is his job to expose those who come there will an ulterior motive and totally embellishes their story and yes he should do it with indignation. Some here I think seem to be a little thin skinned.:floorlaugh: JK I have seen both prosecutors and defense attorneys be very passionate. So what .......each has their own style and Juan Martinez has an excellent record so it works for him.

BOOM!!!! (thx for the back-up) :great:

If there were any question of juror misconduct the question would not have been read. MOO

Unless it wasn't realized at the time.

I'm really concerned about the juror question about "Mr. Hughes."

If this were a problem the defense lawyer would have brought it up when they reviewed the jurors questions with the judge before presenting them to the witness.

Its his style and I like it.

He is passionate when he knows he is the only voice Travis has.

Good point, o-blueeyes, thanks for reminding us!

I admit, I am tired already. Whew! Not saying I don't like it -- not at all. I'm just trying to hang on to my seat...

If you recall Ashton got yelled at more than once for making faces and laughing when Baez made comments. After the trial some of the jurors said they were put off by that.

I take any thing that jury said with a grain of salt. They, in my opinion had an agenda, to make money and a guilty verdict would never do. To me it was evidenced by some not speaking unless they were paid big bucks. One woman did receive and all expense trip for her and her family, first class, to Disneyland, that did not come cheap. You will never, ever convince me that it was not talked about and thrown around. NOT one juror found her guilty of even a lesser offense. They had a plan. This is just my opinion.

imo

When he first started talking about how he met Jodi (I am at work) I had someone come into the office... I *thought* I heard Gus say he had a 'relationship' with JA! I told my tenant... "You are going to have to come back later!!" hahaha I literally got sick to my stomach from hearing that wrong!

I don't understand the point of that witness. This is the way the defense wants to start their case?

And I don't get why all the questions about PPL (by the jury)....

Well it sure started out dismal for the defense.

Wow-- In Session is discussing Jodi conducting a "pre-emptive attack"-- and I called that once I read Alyce LaViolette's stuff on the web. I think that is where the defense is going-- pre-emptive self defense. She saw the "gleam in his eye" and knew he'd kill her.

So, Jodi the Warrior Princess slayed the dragon before the dragon could slay her.

I didn't take Juan's questioning GS about PPL as attacking the company (Travis' company too) but instead GS' honesty or rather lack of transparency about the basic details of how the company fuctions. It didn't strike me as him critisizing the structure but asking GS to clarify and calling him on the inaccuracies to highlight that he lies about even the smallest things to make himself look better.
kwim?

$300 is an economy model. There are diesel rigs up to $1 million. Very extravagant. I feel that he had a luxury rig in order to show off his wealth.

Yes...I know, I was just giving a starter price..lol

This is a little troubling -- the jury asked if Mr Hughes was one of Gus' earners or however you put it. How does the jury know anything at all about Mr Hughes? He has not been a witness and the jury is supposed to have not been exposed to any media about the case.

Running behind, but Gus was asked who supervised Jodi. He said it was Chris Hughes. Someone was simply paying attention.

Off to pop a bit of Ativan...

So what if JA came back from talking to TA crying?! Maybe he told her to...
a. Stop hacking into his accounts.
b. Stop slashing his tires.
c. Stop crawling through doggy doors.
d. Stop stalking him.
e. Never call him again.
f. Leave him alone.

Or maybe she was an obsessed sociopath with inappropriate reactions.

If anything, I think Gus shed light on how Travis would have appeared to be a knight in shining armor to Jodi. She lived in a hoarded up room in her grandparents house in the middle of nowhere. But with Travis, he was important at work and got to take her to black tie events.

When I met my husband, I was a broke 22-year-old student. He was ten years older, established and had a good career. The first time I went to the company black tie Christmas party, I felt like Cinderella. To a young girl without a lot, that kind of thing is major. I can see how an unstable woman would have trouble letting that go.

Dear Jean and InSession,

The witness (Gus Searcy) testified in open court, the defendant was under Chris Hughes' group!!!
This is where the juror got the name from!

Please listen to testimony before saying nonsense on national tv!!!

(anyone feel free to forward to jean and insession) ;)
Oh c'mon Tiger. You know HLN never gets it wrong. ;)

She would NEVER do any of those things! She was NEVER there!!

I think you're giving the defense attorney too much credit.

In any event, it seems Gus did testify about Chris Hughes before the juror question, so I apologize for raising alarms unnecessarily.
