If you recall Ashton got yelled at more than once for making faces and laughing when Baez made comments. After the trial some of the jurors said they were put off by that.
And Baez did the same in the Courtroom and so did the defendant (they just weren't caught and weren't reprimanded for it).
They were also taken in, if you recall, by Baez saying hello to them every morning (which if I recall were against the Judge's Courtroom procedures). One juror (the foreman) even commented on how he was upset that the prosecutor didn't do the same.
Frankly if I was on a jury I wouldn't care how the manner of the extraction of the relevant testimony came I would just want to hear it. I honestly really don't care about theatrics one way or another. And I believe that's how all jurors should be as well.
There are even jury instructions read to jurors that indicate that feelings should not affect their verdict. A jury is not entitled to let any feelings of liking or disliking any of the individuals in the case (including the attorneys) affect or bias their verdict. The Pinellas 12 were wrong to do it and if this jury does it they would be just as wrong.
