She's gonna make sure her sexual appetite is satisfied. No matter what.

Well, like Crosby, stills and Nash say, if ya can't be with the one you love (and she can't cuz she killed him), love the one you're with!

Bomshell Tonight: Nancy Grace is saying they've learned JA has a girlfriend in jail. :what:

I know you guys hate when T's behavior is singled out. But 2 weeks ago I told my male coworker (who is the same age as Travis) about this case, the stalking, the crazy, the sex, and then the murder and it was HIS opinion (his, NOT mine), that if a guy plays with "crazy/obsessive" then something bad is gonna happen. Not usually murder of course, but it can and does happen and my male coworker saw the "gray area" of Travis continuing to have sex with someone who was stalker/obsessive. Just throwing it out there cause this is coming from a straight 33 yr old dude who never heard of this murder and has no idea who any of these people are and no bias one way or the other.
I know you mean well, Madeleine...but in my opinion that's not a lot different than those who say a woman who stays with an abuser asks for it; why doesn't she just get up and go; she must like it, etc.

There is a much deeper psychological process at play when one is entwined in an abusive relationship. (Or even in my opinion a relationship with a disordered personality as they are eerily similar.)

Same reason my stomach churns when co-dependency is brought up for abuse survivors - it just smacks to me as a way to victim blame or at the least minimize the actions of the guilty party.

Am I too late to hear the JA has a girlfriend discussion on Nancy Grace? tia

Why do you think that? They appear to have some e-mails that they may want to have him read to the jury. He's been on the defense's witness list for a while, apparently.

I actually agree with you m00.. they entitled this afternoon part of an evidentiary hearing (continued from yesterday)

not sure if it is evidentiary in terms of what will be allowed in the defense CIC or evidentiary in terms of prosecutorial misconduct allegations

(btw, it is always good to see both sides represented in discussion and we are glad you are here posting with us)

Frankly I'm surprised the defense doesn't just throw their arms up and say, "yeah...we got nuttin." They know their client is not only guilty but deserves a 1st degree murder conviction. The only thing they can do is try to save her life. This defense portion is a dance until the penalty phase.

My thoughts exactly. I just thought of all the lawyers dancing and now I have a tummy ache. :P

I'll try an opposing view... try.

- there will be other aspects to the supposed abuse (mainly only verbal/txt evidence IMO) and the anal aspect probably too.

- the pics in the shower are not important to the defense IMO except they show she didn't kill him. The defense should/could say that he didn't verbally abuse her or physically attack her... just saying.

- it seems to me (I may be wrong of course) that Travis sees her at one point taking pictures before being shot/stabbed. This guy obviously saw her too. I still can't understand the sitting down part... but that may have just been resting since he couldn't fall asleep with psycho over.

- IMO the vile part may be something in addition to the anal.

- The gas cans are TUFF to argue... but I will try.

* Didn't want anyone/family/payor to see any gas charges somewhere she shouldn't be or didn't tell him/her/them.
* Wasn't sure if would have money at a certain point on her card(s)... unless she or someone made a deposit.
* Paranoid (in addition to psycho) about gas. Always have to have extra gas in her car because doesn't trust gas gages and might be in desert.

Any of those any good?

Her defense is getting slapped around... but then again she left them with nothing but red flags and poison arrows.

And yet didn't she say she ran out of gas? Did I hear that right?

How about coming up with a WS "gang sign"? Something to flash when you know the camera's on you. Something discreet. Like flapping your arms 6 times and clapping once. Let me know. Keep it simple. :)

I think katiecoolady should go wearing a black and white jailbird striped shirt with a sexy (NOT) tattoo on her shoulder. Of course, she might have to rip the jailbird shirt and pull it off her shoulder, but that's part of the sexy mystique!

Defense: How did you come to know Jodi Arias?

GS: Well, I would kind of explain a little bit about how I got into this whole thing. I'm a bit of an anamoly in the organiz...

Prosecutor: I'm going to object, it's nonresponsive, he asked how he got to know her; we don't care about his anamolies.

Judge: Sustained.

[laughter in courtroom]

:floorlaugh:

Is that really what Juan said? LOL

Here are a couple of things I learned today:

JA is accusing Travis (the dead victim) of making her do anal sex, yet according to her ex, she is very experienced in this "area".

JA not only took pictures of Travis in the shower (which I firmly believe he did not know), right before she stabbed/sliced/got him to death, she took pictures of her ex in the shower. He did state (in so many words )he wasn't aware of it. I believe his words were something like...he didn't ask her to take them.

The problem JA has, after today, is SHE has the pattern. You can't claim someone made you do a certain sexual act, claim it's so vile you had to kill them...yet, you did the same thing with your ex.

The gas cans...now, that just sunk her for premeditated murder.

Exactly and all with defense own witnesses. If the defense tries any harder, they may as well bring a noose with them. Its freakin incredible. :floorlaugh:

Someone please "twitter" Nancy Grace and ask her to comment (attack) on Jodi's mom's snickering behavior. tia (I don't twitter.)

There are no perfect victims. IMO he did nothing to get what he ultimately got.

He didn't deserve being killed/murdered. I can't say he "did nothing," because I certainly don't know. He didn't appear to attack Jodi on 6/4/08 and she had no reason to think her life was in danger, and even if she did think that, she could have gotten away, so self-defense doesn't fly.

Help me here, please. How can you "save yourself for marriage" when you have already been around the block and then some?

Good question. Could it be -for those people who convert and get baptized in a different religion after doing the nasty for a few times, that they get a clean slate of sorts?

p.s. the internet does not like Canadian spelling, pfffft. Baptised, baptized.

i thought you could only plead the 5th to use against self incrimination?? and once you call the 5th, can't you no longer answer questions??? you cn't pick and choose which question you decide not to answer once you plead it can you?

He was just served with a subpoena by the defense yesterday

His opinion on what? He agrees a murderer must be convicted and sentenced appropriately and this murderer most definitely! But he also sees the gray area that makes so many people squirm -- that Travis made some choices in continuing a relationship of sorts that all agree was dysfunctional and that was terribly tragic and he did continue a sexual relationship with Jodi. Even if it was her showing up and never by invitation, he did engage in the behavior and that was playing with fire. THAT is what my coworker is able to see as a male--that is the "gray area" he talked about. It doesn't excuse murder and that's not what he said.

I don't think it is a "gray area" at all. It is obvious that he was definitely playing with fire but he paid for it with the ultimate price.
