Theories discussion: What could have happened to Haleigh? #3

I guess the point I am trying to make is; They can't have it both ways. Either you never use the door, you use it to take trash out, or vacuum the car, or you can't get out it because cloths are piled up so high the door won't open. If you never use it, I don't think he checked it EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. But if you do use it, maybe he did check it, but that night he forgot. Or Misty went out it, and didn't lock it behind her. The whole point of them saying that was to put blame somewhere else. They are responsible people and they always keep the door locked. Not!

Good point. If they are guilty of something why wouldn't they make it look like maybe they could have left it open accidently, instead of insisting that it was always locked and checked. An intruder story would be more believable if the door could have been unlocked. If they wanted to throw suspicion somewhere else they could have done a better job.

I thought the door supposedly wouldn't close all the way because the laundry on the floor blocked it, not that it wouldn't open because of them.

But wouldnt the opening of door after it had been "bumped" have moved these clothes outward and over? It would seem to me at that point there would be no obstructions and the door would just close? Does that make sense?

I think the door would had to have been opened from the inside. Move the clothes out of the way and open the door. Leave some there on the way out so door doesn't close shut and make noise.

Iirc, Cobra has told several people that Junior first said it was a woman that took HaLeigh

And more interesting imo (if if what Cobra said is true) was Connie Sheffield saying she thought (the statement about the man) was just Junior's imagination. Maybe it was the statement about the woman she was actually discounting. JMO

I don't know who Connie Sheffield is but the one I heard tell of Jr's statement was his mother and I believe her.

bbm~
See cyber, that's another question that bothers me and I have thought about it often! I have wondered if they didn't use the back door more often than Ron has proclaimed. I had no reason to question it, but I did...and that's led me to the question of why would they lie about it? IF they did, there has to be a good reason. It just seems that Ron has made a HUGE deal over the fact that they didn't use it and it was hard to open (but yet it's checked faithfully) he changed the lock, etc...so it does make me wonder, why. Kinda like he doth protest too much, ya know? ...ALL..jmo..mine, mine, mine, lol!

Thanks for the idea --- that's the key to the jigsaw puzzle Pondering Mind.

If you take all of the things that make you go hmmm, like the backdoor, like the pee blanket, the things the family obssess on, get passionate about or, why the need to lie? -- that's where the story is.

We need to reverse engineer, why the focus on the backdoor?, why was Misty so passionate about the pee blanket and, the damaged van?

(snip, bbm) Point away, point away, point away. We did everything right, yet still amazingly she was taken. Deflecting any and all responsibility seems to be the ultimate objective.

I've also pointed out in the past that with four people in the house, taking out the trash would probably be on a daily basis. Also, I have always wondering how many ciggarett butts are on the ground around that ramp. And whose butts were they? I can't see Misty doing laundry and not smoking at that doorway. And why would Ron say that he locks it everyday prior to going to work, if it is seldom used?

(bbm) Point away, point away, point away... must appear a diligent, responsible, consciencious parent at all costs?

Precisely donjeta--had this "intruder" "bumped" the deadbolt :waitasec: scooting or pushing the pile of dirty laundry out of the way w the door to enter, then the laundry could hardly also have been piled between the door and the doorway blocking it... This "intruder" is evidently not only psychic, he or she is a magician too. Right, good point. It really doesn't make much sense about the way TN and NG's producer talked about the laundry on the floor. TN said there was always laundry on the floor and the inference was that the door wouldn't close because of it. But supposing the back door was always kept locked, like Ron says, there couldn't have been any laundry between the door frame and the door while it was locked. So if the lock bumper opened the door from the outside, any clothing on the floor would be pushed farther away, on the other side of the door, so it'd be harder to kick there by accident either. It seems he/she would have had to put it there in between the door and the doorframe on purpose to keep the door from closing. Guess it might have happened but did the intruder know that the door closes automatically? How did he/she know? It would have been hard to find out while visiting if Ron and Misty never use that door.

The ramp looks pretty nasty to me. This is also after LE took the screen door. Notice the trash bags in this pick are ripped open and there are a number of cans off to the side.

Oh, I see little flower or plant pots and dirt, spilled from the bag. Wonder is Misty was growing flowers, but it was February and they would have to be inside plants.

Well they moved in the MH in November, so that is winter here. But sure, she may have brought pots and soil when she moved in with Ron. She could have stored them under the stairs, just mentioning it. It could be they were starter pots for pot, but it could go the other way too. I grow herbs, basil, thyme, rosemary. So yes, she could have been doing that too, as she cooks. She is probably like many of us who like fresh herbs when cooking. I love them.

(bbm) :biglaugh: bern you're too funny... :blushing: sorry friend just trying to get the visual, Misty growing daffodils, cooking w fresh parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme (gonna burst into song here) lol!!!

I can see her taking up gardening and talking about her lovely garden with a friend. The friend asks her if she's got oaks, maples or pines in her garden. She says, "I don't know, I just seen tree."

If LE says no forced entry, wouldn't that mean that the door was not bumped?

Indeed Law Enforcement did say that there was no forced entry. However, I have been unable to find proof that the front entrance door to the trailer was indeed locked. We have not heard if it was or wasn't. Anyone that has been able to confirm that the front door was locked, I would appreciate that information. Why bother breaking in and bumping a lock if their is a door that is unlocked?

Also, I personally think that if the AC Man was in the home that evening, inspecting the unit or thermostat or both, could he have unlocked the back door? If Ronald left before the AC Man arrived, he could have checked the door and it was indeed locked. I believe there is a chance the door could have been accessed by The AC Man. Given that we have no statement in regards to the AC Man it is hard to know for sure. I hope LE has that information already.

Okay you are the winner!! That is so funny, I have tears rolling down my face.

Do we have any points that we can agree on yet?
