Theories discussion: What could have happened to Haleigh? #3

Wasn't it reported that the previous tenant use to do that to get the wheelchair down the ramp?

I would hope he/she wasn't doing that alone, given the dynamics of juggling a brick while in a wheelchair, hovering on a ramp that looks to be easily at a 30* angle. That would be more excitement than anyone would want!

Morning all,

We have photos upstairs of the ramp and the door. This ramp is narrow, had dew on it and a good incline. So if a man, is carrying a child, maybe in a blanket, trying to fit through that narrow door, and get past a cinder block, is there the possibility that maybe some evidence would have been left behind? I think of a person taking the time to get that shirt off and tan shorts. They were found on the laundry pile. Where was this pile? If the door was pushed open and the pile was in front of the door, was the pile in front of the inside door. Misty never said the inside door was propped open, only the screen door. I think that was a mistake on her part. She imagined how she woke up, saw the light but forgot that the inside door had to be open in order for her to see the screen door propped open. It's all BS. If you look at the laundry area, it is narrow, and if all those cloths that are in the bags sitting on top of the washer and dryer are on the floor, not including anything they took out, how do you get in or out of that door? I think trash days, it was just kicked to the side and walked over and the trash was hulled out. Remember the photos of the MH are different than what LE saw. The beds are striped, LE took the linens and I bet the bed on the floor was not Haleigh's, LE probably took it. They were in that MH for 2 weeks, and then it was cleaned up for us to see.

Further, I am looking at the dynamics of heaving the garbage bag over the railing. One would have to open up the automatically closing (though not latching) heavy door, open up the automatically closing (and latching) screen door, reach around the screen door to heave the bags off to the (as you're looking at it in this picture) right side of the ramp.

Not impossible, but why not just open up the two doors and reach down with the garbage bags and drop them to the left of the ramp, saving the difficult maneuver of swinging around the door?

Is it possible that they did just use the front door and walk around with the trash? I get your point, the trash should have been tossed to the right. Why try to maneuver around a door that you have to hold open with your shoulder as you lean over and toss the trash. Doesn't make sense. If the picture was taken after LE released the scene, GGMS may have put trash out while cleaning up the MH.

I thought a preacher and his wife lived there before Ron. We have the interview of him saying the MH had squeaky floors, 2 sky lights and there would be light (full Moon) to see to get around inside. So was he in a wheelchair or his wife, or a child?

You know, reading through these posts made me think of something else.

They lived in a heavily wooded area, typically in cold weather, there tends to be dew on things. If this is an abduction, wouldn't the ramp have dew on it causing it to be slippery? I am thinking too, if that back door was never used, like RC & MC claim, then the ramp should have some sort of algea growing on it from the dew and humidity. Wouldn't that also make it difficult to carry HC out that back door, taking a chance of slipping and falling, and waking her (assuming she was alive when carried out that door) and possibly making enough noise to wake Misty?

The reason i bring this up is b/c grwoing up my parents had a large wooden deck in the back yard, that was hardly used. When the weather would change the deck always got a slime type thing on it that made it very slippery. And there was no incline on our deck.

There could have been dew on the ramp, it would depend on the temp at the time of abduction and the dew point. I don't know for sure, but I would think that the lumber used for the ramp was treated to inhibit mildew growth, since this was in Fl and it is so humid there. I am in NC and we used treated lumber on our deck and a sealant and we have had no algae or mildew yet. My Mom does get mildrew growth on her house siding however, so it is def. possible for it to occur in such humid conditions.

The lumber on the ramp does not look treated, given the number of dark black stains on it, which I assume is mold. Also, the dewpoint that night/morning was on average in the mid-40's.

Could the brick have been there so it would have been easier for the perp to pick the lock to get in? Nah, since it wasn't picked that makes no sense-

One thing I noticed, from the get go, its been pretty bam, bam, bam, she got up saw light saw door ran to get phone, look theres Ron! But on the Maury show when that reenactment was going on, I noticed they showed Misty going all the way up to the door and logically, that was pretty much the only way she was going to see that door bricked open- But she never says she ran right up to it or anything- I find that odd.

The ramp looks pretty nasty to me. This is also after LE took the screen door. Notice the trash bags in this pick are ripped open and there are a number of cans off to the side.

Oh, I see little flower or plant pots and dirt, spilled from the bag. Wonder is Misty was growing flowers, but it was February and they would have to be inside plants.

Thank you curvecutie!

I really didn't give it much thought until this morning when reading. Then looking at the picture posted (first on this thread i think) it kinda does appear to be a little green and black growing.

But anyhow, i wanted to tell you thank you, b/c i thought it was nice that you responded :)

She never does say she went to the door. She says she went into the kitchen, saw the door open and ran back to her room for the phone, saw Haleigh was gone and then Ron came home. Still does not explain the panic or why the assumption wasn't that Ronald had gotten home and taken out the garbage and maybe Haleigh got up with him, and then they both realized Haleigh wasn't there.

I see cinder blocks under the house.

If the lock was "bump locked" would one need to be seated to do this?

The fact is, at first glance the inside door would have also had to have been propped open so she could have seen the "bricked" door- I mean its going to be just as alarming to see that door open as the other one-

SNIP~ To Ronald Cummings. Ronald, isn`t the previous owner the reverend?

CUMMINGS: As I believe it is the reverend`s mother and father. And I think they deceased here in the home. I`m not sure. You would have to ask them. But I do know that I personally went to Wal-Mart and bought the deadbolts and the locks that were on there so nobody else had a key to this house.

GRACE: OK, because I believe that he told me, the former owner, the reverend, that he had placed a lock on that back door but you also placed locks as well, correct? Got it.

CUMMINGS: Yes, ma`am, they were there. I took them off and put my own on.

I also read that a SO was a former resident but I don't have any links for proof.

That pic was taken after RC moved out, after LE took the screen door. It could be trash an animal drug out. I do keep my plastic pots from summer under the deck in the winter and those bad, evil squirrels will roll them into the yard. :furious:

Okay try this on for size. We know she said she woke around "3" so she gets up goes to the kitchen see the door blah, blah, blah. How long does that take? A minute, maybe, so she runs back, to get her phone, and see Haleigh missing. Now her phone didn't turn on until 3:10 ro 3:15 depending where you read. So for 10 minutes she is looking for Haleigh and then calls one of her brothers, not 911 or Ron.

10 minutes, it doesn't take that long to search that MH. Then Ron comes home at 3:24 thats 14 minutes later, still no 911 call.

so do this, watch the clock and know in your mind, Haleigh is missing....

keep going, it's a looooonnnnng time. While a child is gone, you wait, what are you doing?

It was discussed way back in the early threads. IIRC there was even a name mentioned but it escapes me now. Something with a J in it? Supposedly he was the previous renter and the reverend's parents had died some time earlier.

I must ask since we are now working hard on theories if anyone has heard of friends of the families being questioned? Also has anyone sleuthed out any RSO in any of these families, not alleged but convicted?

Well they moved in the MH in November, so that is winter here. But sure, she may have brought pots and soil when she moved in with Ron. She could have stored them under the stairs, just mentioning it. It could be they were starter pots for pot, but it could go the other way too. I grow herbs, basil, thyme, rosemary. So yes, she could have been doing that too, as she cooks. She is probably like many of us who like fresh herbs when cooking. I love them.
