Throughout
all of this I still end up with a shred of belief that Caylee is alive. I may have to eat those words, but I'd rather eat those than some mean, vicious words directed at the Anthony's!
I've been thinking a lot about the Anthony's civil rights - yes, they have them! They live in U.S. and have not been charged (excluding Casey's current charges) or convicted of any crime.
I think a lot of what's been going on with the gawkers and protesters is disgusting, and possible harrassment.
I looked this up - the legal definition of harassment according to Black's Law Dictionary is:
"A course of conduct directed at a specific person that causes substantial emotional distress in such person and serves no legitimate purpose" or "words, gestures, and actions which tend to annoy, alarm and abuse (verbally) another person."
This is a big mess, being made no better by the constant surveillance the Anthony's are under. Yes, it's a free country, but should we use that freedom to the good or detriment of another?
If we find out that any of the Anthony's have contributed to the death of Caylee, I think the book should be thrown and them, and I'll help throw! If she's alive and her life has been made miserable by any of them, I think they should also be charged accordingly!
In the meantime, I think we (collectively as human beings) need to watch that we don't
don't cause "substantial emotional distress" or use "words, gestures, and actions which tend to annoy, alarm and abuse (verbally)."
If we're going to behave this way, what's the use of having laws that protect the innocent, which we all are until proven guilty?!
Just my (however unpopular) POV.
