Peek-a boo, Here I am, trying to catch up and find out what has really happened in the last several months. Great to see everyone still passionate about finding justice for Michelle and her bebe. I have thought about this case every day, and just have to make time to come in for a little while every day.

Is it only a rumor that JR doesn't have the same firm representing him? And I never knew about a boat accident, but if she was preggers then too, Fran summed that up nicely!

I feel confident LE knows who did this, which seems obvious to me from the probable cause listed on the SWs. I sincerely believe the Duke Lacrosse fiasco has far-reaching effects, not only in the State of NC, where Michelle was murdered, but throughout the USA. Before a DA presents a case to the GJ, which is said to have the ability to "indict a ham sandwich", I believe they want all loose ends tied up before proceeding.

JY lawyered up immediately after having been "told" his pregnant wife was bludgeoned to death, and his lawyer, if aware LE doesn't have every "i" dotted and every "t" crossed, could request a speedy trial.

As of this time, JY hasn't claimed Michelle's life insurance policy proceeds, which is telling in itself. Look at what happened to Justin Barber when he claimed April's policy proceeds. That deposition was used at his criminal trial as effectively as if he had taken the stand in his own defense. The insurance lawyer asked the same type of questions the Pros would have asked, and JB incriminated himself with his answers which defied the crime scene.

I think LE has JY exactly where they want him, and they are in no hurry to arrest him. The more JY remains free, the more he will likely incriminate himself, just as SP did, except JY's lawyer told him not to give interviews to the media, and unlike Scott, JY is apparently heeding that advice.

BTW, there are so many coincidences surrounding JY, as it relates to Michelle's murder, and you can tell from my sig line how I view them, LOL!

I didn't know that a person has to give a deposition to claim a life insurance policy. I, unfortuneately, collected on a life insurance policy years ago, (of course, no where near this amount), and all I did, IIRC, was fill out a form. Of course, it WAS an accident and I WAS out of town. Actually, I was the last to know, even after it had been on the local news (excluding his name of course).

NOW we know why he hasn't claimed her insurance policy! I actually was wondering what was taking him so long.

Of course, I'm also wondering why he's not on the phone with LE at least every other day asking for updates on the case. Oh,............I forgot,..........he already knows the answer and doesn't want to hear it. :chicken:

NOT claiming the life insurance and all it would entail is very telling.

I have missed everyone here too, you Chico, Fran, Taximom, Strach and all my other friends here. Madeleine's case is quieting down now so I have a little more time.

So anything else new? Does he still have the same attorney? I know the house is for sale. I think about Cassidy as she must be changing every day, getting bigger and very busy with her friends. I see the Bravardian is still visiting and will have to read back to see how he is dealing with everything concerning Michelle and her bebe's murder almost 9 months ago. It seems like an eon, doesn't it, and yet just like yesterday at the same time.

Sending happy thoughts to Cassidy with love tonight, up, up and away to her through the miracle of cyberland.

Fran, we have a poster here named Bellgardin that has been most helpful providing us with the insurance info. Maybe a search for her posts would bring those up without having to read through pages and pages of posts from months ago. A lot of good info there.

It would be interesting to know IF JY has in actuality contacted the insurance company and been denied and it's being kept hush-hush, ie the media hasn't found out. Or, if he was advised to WAIT by his attorney. From what it looks like, in discussion about Peterson (East), JY has probably gotten Michelle's 402K etc from her company which is probably tiding him over until he gets his 'big payday.' Hopefully, before then, LE will have connected the 'dots' and he won't be entitled to it..........fran

Yes...I think you're right about the 402k. Don't know if you've heard the rumors but it's been said that his house went into foreclosure - looks like he simply walked away from that. Probably wasn't much equity in it, so he figured - why bother I have the 402! I think he might have got that early on because he apparently took Cassidy to Disneyworld for a week in the Spring.

Personally, I don't think he'll get the life insurance....not as long as he's a POI. I think (from what I've read) he's going to have to participate in a deposition if he wants any of that.

I am sure JY sought an attorney's advise concerning the life insurance. Based on my research, these carriers say they should be notified within 2 months of a death. I would bet there has been a claim and the life carrier is now investigating. No way they shell out $1mm as long as there is an active investigation. This will not ever be a "cold case", as LE KNOWS who the killer is. They will dig and dig until they get the break they need to make an arrest. Unfortunately, this could be years.

Supposedly it was a receipt for a christmas gift ( a pocketbook) for Michelle. I think it was just a way for MF to go over there....
