it would be a good idea if Progress Energy printed up some Reward Posters
in English and Spanish.

Language might be a barrier if someone working at a gas station or
other witness saw Jason that night.

Maybe Progress Energy could take pay for a few radio ads (broadcast in English and Spanish) on NC Spanish radio stations or print ads in Spanish language newspapers.

it might produce new leads

I've read posts by others who claim to have hung up posters at various locations. I wonder if there was any organized effort by PE employees or Michelle's friends to hang up posters. I know that one of her friends put the poster up on her blog, but other than the initial news reports and the ad in the Wolfpacker magazine, there's been very little publicity regarding the reward posters. Makes me wonder what the true purpose of those reward posters was.

I've wonderered the same thing, Scout. I believe that the timing of the appearance of the reward posters has some unknown motive also. Just not sure what that is.

Maybe, just to send a message to Jason Lynn Young, that the investigation is still in as full swing, just as it was in the beginining. To remind him that no one has forgotten about the murder of Michelle and her baby. Maybe to remind JY that he is not ' off the hook ' and maybe just to make him squirm a little bit!

I know that Progress Energy is responsible for the reward poster, but LE would have to give the final approval, isn't that right? There has to be more to it than any of us understand at this time. JMHO.

I was reading a story to my child and I was suddenly overcome with emotion, struck by the thought that Michelle was robbed of that opportunity with her own children. Sweet little Cassidy will never hear her beloved mama's voice reading or singing to her, and they'll never be able to snuggle together on a lazy Saturday morning.

:(

Waiting (not so patiently) for justice for Michelle and her children.

Aww, Anita, that's so sad. I think of Cassidy's sweet little voice often. :(

We are getting closer and closer to a year anniversary here.

Let's keep the candles burning and the hope flowing that justice will be found for Michelle, her unborn baby and little Cassidy.

Sweetmop, hi! Glad to see that you all are keeping up the good fight. I am definitely bummed that no arrest has been made.
Justice for Michelle.

I agree, I hope an arrest is coming soon.
Justice for Michelle.

I hope the murderer never has a restful sleep.

Ditto! Hope he never sleeps, itches all the time and suffers miserably.

Wouldn't it be great if he was struck with an incurable YEAST infection and a million mosquito bites? And worms. And infected hangnails on all of his toes and fingers.

I just wonder if it is hard for him to sleep at night. It seems that he would hate night time, when he's alone with his thoughts, and the memory of what he has done. Lying there in the still house, what must run through his mind? Or does he even have a conscience at all?

How in the world could he lay down at night and sleep?

I hate to say it but I believe he sleeps just fine- anyone who could have done what he did, sleeps with no problem.....:(

Unfortunately, that's what I figured as well.
You're absolutely spot on.
He sleeps without difficulty. He thinks she deserved it, somehow.

Hi Sweetmop!:)

I think he's had a few sleepless nites - like the nite he found out PE had put up a reward and printed up flyers. And then there's the nite when the reward poster was splashed in the WOLPACKER!!

I don't think LE, Michelle's friends and family have finished with him yet. He'll just have to wonder when the next axe will fall.:)

Did you happen to watch the Christa Worthington case on 48 hours last nite? It took one year for the lab work to be done!

Hi jilly. No I didn't see 48 Hours. I wish I had. One year for results on the lab work and dna? Now that's interesting. It's almost a year in this case, hmmm. Time will tell.
I am sure the ' axe will fall' again, as you say. Seems it's about time for something else to ' come out', doesn't it?
Yes I guess ole JY does get a little bit nervous with reward posters appearing, and especially with it plastered on the pages of his alma mater's newspaper!
Just wish he'd at least save his family some grief and confess.
Won't be holding my breath though. :(

Cassidy is probably the only one that struggles with sleeping in that family.

YES! Anita Richman! That would be wonderful. That will cause him to suffer a bit.

Unsure if this is considered O/T...but I find this case has many similarities to Michelle's. If you read the affidavit for his arrest warrant (linked below), see if there aren't some things laid out that sound similar to the MY case.

Kari Baker was found dead in April, 2006 (yes, 2006, not 2007). First ruled a suicide. Her family fought that and pushed for her body to be exhumed (JP hadn't requested an autopsy, which pizzed off the investigators), of which her preacher hubby fought. Hmmm? Then her parents filed a civil suit against hubby. Her body was finally exhumed, and tox results show ambien and another sleeping drug (unisom, I believe) in her system. A few marks on her to lead investigators to now believe hubby drugged her and then suffocated her with a pillow.

Hmmm, hubby (again, a preacher - shows a god-fearing man can do such a thing, although friends and family just "can't believe" someone could do such a thing) was in contact with a female in the 3 months prior to Kari's death with phone calls, etc. Kari ended up telling friends and a counselor (!) that they were having marital problems and that she thought Matt was trying to kill her. She also believed he was having an affair.

Oh how I hope Michelle told her friends/family about her marital problems, as well as the therapist she saw. IMO, she certainly did.

And even knowing all that...investigators didn't have enough to arrest Matt Baker until this past week, almost 1 1/2 years later. After tox results were known and the JP changed her death certificate to "undetermined" I believe...and the lead investigating agency said that didn't change their investigation...2 DAYS LATER, BOOM! I absolutely love it. Her hubby had "moved on" with his kids, moved out of the area (back with his parents, so they could help with the children.)

Love how the investigators kept it all quiet and looking like it was just continuing as usual...and then wham. Arrest warrant. A murderer just never knows when they'll get that knock or that phone call that changes their life forever.

I hope and pray this is how Michelle's case plays out. Even if it's 1 1/2 years later, that they get the monster that beat Michelle to death. There's hope y'all, don't give up. Cases like this are all over the U.S.
