I also believe, that he bought the property for building his dream house - why not. Btw I'm always hoping DM isn't the serial killer/killer. Unfortunately ABro says, there is enough evidence and DM-believer will wake up sometime. Urgh.

I for one very much appreciate ABro's knowledge she has about this case, I believe her knowledge runs very deep and hopefully one day we will have the privedge of reading a book about this case, produced by her. More telling though FromGermany is the fact the Attorney General has made the rare decision of heading straight to trial, omitting the preliminary hearing. I'm going with the possibility that the evidence is overwhelming, thus her decision. ;)

The two men accused in the murder of Ancaster man Tim Bosma will be going straight to trial, without the usual first step of a preliminary hearing.

“It’s very extremely rare as the vast overwhelming majority of cases, including most high profile ones, go to the preliminary hearing route,” Millard’s lawyer Ravin Pillay said.

“It has many benefits to the administration of justice. The Crown can better understand the prospect of conviction and defence can understand the evidence. Other charges can be laid or withdrawn.”

“The provision is there if there is a solid case and justice will be better served by going directly to trial,” Meilleur said Wednesday.

“It’s not often that this happens. It’s a special procedure.”

I wonder what happened between DM and his ex that would cause their falling out after such a huge purchase though? Then he shaves his head and takes off to Baja.

You bring up a profoundly important question. Something seems amiss in the "girlfriend" department . Maybe she got a glimpse of it and decided not to be involved.

Personally, I don't believe every opinion I hear. I think even though she may have heard what some of the evidence against him is, she probably has not heard what the defence is. It's easy to pick sides when you've only heard one side of the story, in my opinion. Didn't she also say the opposite, that she can see why people who know him don't believe he can be guilty? Those are both just one person's opinion, I prefer to think for myself, and believe in encouraging others to do the same. MOO

Not "every" other opinion, but ABro's maybe substantiated. However, she knows more than me.
But: I want to continue to not believe such a senseless murder (old truck) until the trial shows me the opposite ...
I don't think about MS, because IF he is the murderer I would not be comforted. It would be the same senseless deed, whether DM or MS. And it would be clear, that one knew about the other and both would be responsible.

Maybe substantiated. To me Maybe is the key word. I don't trust some people's opinions more than others when they have no proof to show that they know better than me. Maybe IF and when she substantiates her opinions with indisputable facts, it will be more believable to me, until then, I'm going to rely on my own common sense.

Perhaps it was "only" the long-time friend with whom DM had been involved in a casual sexual relationship: Laura. Maybe some girls more. That should have been enough to break the engagement. Or/and drugs?

Speculations on why two people broke up could be endless, maybe she left him because he couldn't put the toilet seat down, for example. Without any input from the people themselves, it would be impossible to determine accurately, in my opinion.

Too busy carrying on his leisure lifestyle and she was demanding, wanting him to take on responsibilities he had no interest in? She may have been someone else who got in his way, but because he was too closely connected to her, (he would have been nombre une suspect) he ditched her instead of the worst case scenario? Was he having too much fun with other women also? MOO.

Here is an alternate version of ABro's story featuring AS, with a new to me ;) picture of Madeleine Burns and Wayne Millard at an anti-seal hunt event in 1983 (two years before DM was born)

Good find. The article also mentions that it was a police source that told Citynews about Wayne was in love and engaged to be married. Also that police sources leaked that Wayne was shot in the eye specifically.

Thanks Snooper. This is the long and the short of it right there IMO.

Although the Millard family is often described as an aviation dynasty, in reality, neither Wayne nor Dellen, both of whom were only children, were ever very involved in Millardair, which was founded by Wayne’s late father Carl in 1954 and remained his baby right up until his death in 2006. The recent Waterloo venture was Wayne’s first major aviation initiative. And he told both Mr. Sharif and a former Millardair pilot that it was designed to be “Dellen’s project” and provide his 28-year-old son with a secure future.

It was an unusual, bold move for Wayne, who apparently spent much of his life disinterested in the family business, or business at all, for that matter, and reportedly struggled with alcoholism. Unfortunately his planned multi-million dollar legacy ended in the worst possible way, with Wayne dead, the family business unravelled and Dellen facing one murder charge and under investigation for a missing woman and his own father’s death.

That is the same article almost word for word, with just a little clean-up editing and pictures removed for the NP article. It was Jim Junkin who reported that polices sources said Wayne was engaged.

http://www.citynews.ca/2013/05/21/police-reopen-2-cases-tied-to-dellen-millard/

AB said later that she could find no one who knew anything about a fiance.

I have talked to at least a dozen people about Wayne and not one has heard about his supposed fiancee.

The only reference to her existence was in a Jim Junkin report, and I can’t help but wonder if he mixed up Dellen’s and Wayne’s fiancees.

The Mothers arranged the introductions that lead to an engagement. Maybe the girl's Mother found out something about DM she did not like, and advised her daughter to end the relationship. IMO

2 years ago, an innocent husband and father was murdered while showing his truck for sale. This would have been prevented if proper investigations were done in the disappearance of Laura Babcock and in the sudden death of Wayne Millard. Both of them were directly linked to the accused, Dellen Millard. DM must have thought murder was so easy, killing a man for his truck/engine will be simple. Justice is coming, Sharlene. Dellen Millard is toast, IMO. RIP Tim Bosma.

“He was probably the person I loved most in the world, even more than myself,” he says.

Probably could mean: I don't know for sure, whether I loved most or loved as a second one, therefore I say: probably - could be very honest (mostly too honest).

Even more than myself could mean: I have done things to please my father, although I didn't want to do this (become an aviator, pilot, business man, fiance, ...).

Always IMO! :)

I had to move 50+ posts over to Laura's thread (yes, including 2 of my own, LOL). Let's try to stay in the right thread.

Thanks.

If he loved his father possibly more than himself, why did he murder his father? IMO by stating that to the reporter, he was hoping that tidbit of information would make it into the MSM and cause reasonable doubt in the minds of some. Perhaps DM does not know what love is? Broken engagement, using a friend for sexual gratification, murdering the man who gave him life and took care of him his whole life, even after his parents divorced. The man who tried to make his life meaningful and fruitful. MOO.

Perhaps some may find this article interesting. Could there be similarities in these three cases and one being greed? TWT. MOO.

The Lull Before the Storm: Adult Children Who Kill Their Parents

Ironically, Christopher Porco perceived his parents’ position of being caring and loving as a weakness to be exploited (Hare, 1993). One can observe how Christopher’s destructive behavior accelerated over his life and well into adulthood with escalating family turmoil. Each move that the parents took to discipline Christopher was met with a counter-move by their son. Christopher did not view his parents’ disciplinary actions as gestures of parental love, but as attempts to curtail his self-gratifying, egocentric personality.

It is interesting to note that during an interview with CBS, while visiting his mother at the hospital, Christopher Porco stated, “I saw her—she was swollen and covered in tubes and my reaction was I burst into tears. I fell on the floor right there” (Bell, 2007). Yet a former youth leader minister named Joseph Catalano who went to the hospital to be with Christopher Porco claimed to be “struck by Porco’s odd behavior because he did not seem to exhibit any grief” (Bell). The psychopaths’ use of the “chameleon strategy” is not surprising in that they attempt to read a situation and determine what the appropriate emotional response others want to hear to make them appear sympathetic to outsiders (Perri & Lichtenwald, 2007). Fortunately, someone was present to observe his true behavioral response.

Eric Hanson was found guilty of a quadruple homicide in February of 2008. He murdered his mother, father, sister, and brother-in-law and has been sentenced to death. According to the prosecution, the defendant is responsible for the theft of more than $150,000 from his parents through forgery, mail fraud, credit card fraud, and identity theft schemes (Golz, 2008a). In fact, just hours before the killings on the night of September 28–29, 2005, because Hanson lived with his parents, he was able to intercept a $13,800 check delivered to the family’s home and deposit it into his personal bank account (Golz, 2008d). He continued to use the parents’ credits even after their murder. As State’s Attorney Joseph Birkett stated, “Eric Hanson in a cold, calculated and premeditated manner, committed the execution-style murders out of greed and fear of having his fraudulent scheme discovered” (Rozek, 2005).

So "apparently" CN knew Dellen killed Tim. Doesn't that say a whole lot right there? It sure does to me. :gasp: Obviously we know because the charged has not had his day in court, journalists have to say "apparently" or "allegedly".

Shame, shame on CN. She knew DM killed Tim but instead of doing the legal and morally correct thing, she tried to help him escape. :notgood: She deserves a nice, long, prison sentence in one of the prisons where they will be serving up some of that yummy, powdered, milk. Hope she's enjoying her freedom right now because things just might look a whole lot different in a year or so. I cannot help but believe she eventually cooperated with LE and has turned witness for the Crown, hoping her sentence will be light. MOO.

Wonder if CN ended up back in university and got good grades?

Police allege Noudga knew Millard had killed Bosma and assisted in his “escape” last May 9, three days after Bosma disappeared, said Crown Attorney Tony Leitch.

Leitch said Noudga made a statement to police after she was arrested Thursday, but could not say whether she is being co-operative.

“We don’t usually arrest co-operating witnesses,” Leitch said.

At Noudga’s family home in Etobicoke Thursday, neighbour Mark Majchrowski said he saw officers removing a “good deal” of boxes and bags.

After the Star’s Robert C sat down for two extensive jailhouse interviews with Millard last December, the Star reached Noudga by phone.
“Maybe we can talk another time, I’m kind of busy this month,” she said. “I will be out of town. But I don’t really want to talk about it. I might call you back.”

She never did.
