Tim Miller Interview re: Blanchard Search

It is there in print.
I was hoping TM did not say this. I was hoping that TM was more generous to LP, God knows TM has been with CA. I am just disappointed in the whole thing with TES. I don't understand how a week ago TM was on tv telling the world this was going to be the largest missing person search ever, we are going to find Caylee, and then all of a sudden TM decides to up and leave, just like that. TES is out money? Donations have had to be rolling in, for months WSers have been sending in pretty steady. Searchers are out money as well, I think TM should have considered all the folks that drove to Florida, out of state, flew in, their meals, gasoline, time from work, these searchers went to considerable effort to just have the rug pulled out from under them. The things is, this isn't the first time TM has done this...it's the second. Now whether or not CA is "getting" to TM or whatever. It's TM's ball he can take it and go home if he wants to but just because everything didn't go exactly as planned with LP, TM shouldn't throw a hissy fit and leave.

LP stayed behind. Stood up to CA. Searched for Caylee with gut instinct, he has built a reputation and a very successful business with this method, did what he went to Florida to do. Said he was going to have a memorial for a child that he has searched for, took a lot of heat for that, and still managed to be a stand up guy in all of this.

I admire TM for his purpose in life, he seems to be a genuine hearfelt saint of a man, but I admit, he has disappointed me on this one. As for LP, he is a bright shining star in my book. He is a genuine, look you in the eye, tell it like it is man's man. He is more rough around the edges than TM but in LP's line of work, one can't be a softy. LP is still my hero and I give him all the credit in the world. JMO.

Ya'll may now commence the flaming.

While all of this was going on yesterday, bounty hunter Leonard Padilla approached Tim and told him that he needed to send divers into the Little Econ River in Blanchard Park. Padilla was convinced that Caylee would be found in the water there, based upon the discovery of a cross necklace that EquuSearch team member Lisa Hxxxxxx had found on a nearby tree during the first search effort. That necklace, according to Padilla, had beads on it that were "identical" to beads that the female bounty hunter (the one who stayed in the house when Casey was out on bond) had seen on jewelry that Casey had allegedly made.

Leonard's theory was that Casey Anthony had transported a deceased Caylee to the park, hung the cross on a tree branch and then threw her in the water.

"I had my people use side-scan sonar to examine that water yesterday and then I went back myself and checked it again," Tim Miller said today in an interview with Investigation Discovery. "I told Leonard that it only takes an hour to scan it and that we had put four or five hours into it just so there would be no question as to whether she was there. I can tell u where every tire is at, I can show you where there is a bucket, where there is an old wheelbarrow and fender from a car. I can show you how deep the water is in every place and what the water temperature is. There is not a body in there."

Despite the fact that Tim had cleared the river, Leonard contacted an amateur news site and made the announcement during a live Internet feed. What followed was a media frenzy, which has left Tim Miller with a sour taste in his mouth.

"We are associated in no way with the actions of Leonard Padilla," Tim told Investigation Discovery. "

Thanks Chilly:)

We were right, Chilly, we knew this was all going to end in tears...

It's all very sad, Bev. I hate seeing Tim attacked and criticized when he wanted nothing more than to find little Caylee, for her sake, not for glory or media attention. I believe he knew after the first few searches that finding her was all but impossible without more to go on, but his compassion overrode his wisdom so he responded to the pleas of the public and tried again. Now that very same public wants to tear him down. People are fickle.

My heart hurts for Tim. It's very disturbing to see such an honorable man condemned for doing the right thing for all the right reasons while seeing another praised for interfering with a police investigation, lying to the public, disrupting the search efforts, and basically using Caylee's demise as a vehicle to bring attention and glory to himself.

Aside from Caylee's death, of course, seeing the public turn on a true selfless hero and embrace a charlatan like LP is the saddest thing to happen in this case so far. IMO

Chilly..I'm not turning on TM not now or ever. Like yousaid he is a true hero but his actions are disappointing this weekend, surely you can concede to that.

No, his actions are not in the least bit disappointing to me. Tim realized that the search effort for Caylee was futile, other families need him, huge amounts of money and effort were being wasted on what appears to be a hopeless cause at this point, so he made the informed and intelligent decision to move on. Actually, if I was ever disappointed in Tim, it was when he agreed to return knowing that the effort was likely to fail.

I am coming in late today and may be misunderstanding what is being said about TM vs. LP, but this link has TM saying he is leaving because of the A family......

The man who spent thousand of dollars to look for Caylee's body was so fed up with the Anthony family he packed up and left town Tuesday.

Tim Miller runs EquuSearch. The group searches for missing people all over the country. He organized several expensive search parties for Caylee's body over the weekend, but called them all off Monday.

Miller told Eyewitness News he's never had a case like this where the family offers only criticism instead of actually helping in the search.

I was there when TIM left and he is NOT leaving because of the A FAMILY. The search with TES is not over just because TIM is not here personally does not mean TES is not searching.

Shoddy reporting by WFTV.....again.

Thank you chesterp......Please know I was not trying to say anything against TM. I have no ill will against him, nor LP. I was only commenting on this thread. I guess I should of read the whole thread before posting....my bad.

This time, I have to agree with you! Wasn't LP the one on NG bragging that Tim was the best in the business, that if anyone could find Caylee, Tim would? And yet, after Tim told him point-blank that he had already cleared that area, he went and conducted his own search anyway!!!!! What a guy!
I used to be a fan of his.... I'm not anymore!

Well, when you stop and think about it... there are missing people all over the country who are begging for his help. Why should he keep on searching for Caylee when the whole A family does not want her to be found? Nor do they seem to appreciate the time and money his organization has spent trying to find her. These other families have loved ones... many of them kids just as precious as Caylee... who are missing. And some of these families have waited YEARS for their loved ones to be found and brought home. I don't blame him for leaving, and if it were me, I would never want to set foot in Orlando again, nor have any contact with the Anthony family.
Don't get me wrong... I would love to see Caylee's remains found... but there are others out there who are missing too!

You'll get no flames from me - in fact, I agree with a lot you said. I don't believe Tim took the sacrifices of others into consideration when he pulled out so prematurely and, this is the second time this happened.

When I first heard TES was coming to Orlando, I did a web search on TES and Tim Miller. Up until then I'd heard nothing but good. The search, however, turned up a lot of people with no respect for him at all. After this fiasco I'm fighting with myself to keep my image of him as a good guy because, I'm sure he is - not a saint, but a good guy, doing the best he can with his own human foibles and follies. He is not superman or a caped crusader. He is a human being and I believe we all need to get used to that fact.

LP is another story. I got myself "timed out" on here for posting against him in the LP threads. I haven't really changed my mind about him, but he does put his money where his mouth is and he does stand up for what I "think" he believes. I have to give him credit for that.

In summation, Tim Miller is only a human being, he can only do what his humanity allows. We all need to understand that and take him off the pedestal - no one can live up to everyone's expectations.

just out of curiousity: does anyone know how much money has been spent so far in the search for natalee holloway.

Good question.

1. How many times has Tim been to Aruba?
2. What is the total cost of all those many trips to far away Aruba? Where hotels are likely not cheap.

You are absolutely correct. I just was disappointed TM left as I had put so much faith and confidence in him and LP. I was probably unrealistic about it all. Both men are in this for Caylee and that is all that matters. There are other missing children and other families that need TM and will welcome him with open arms and that is where he needs to be. I do realize now that if a search is not local that it might not be the best idea financially speaking to spend a whole lot traveling as the whole thing could be called off.

I followed that case for a long time. I know that the sea search done early this year was over a million dollars. It was paid for by an individual who remains anonymous. When the money ran out they had to come home...it was sad.

He has been there often, just in the past month or so, between the two Caylee searches.

My opinion of the whole LP, TM fiasco is that it's way out of hand. Reminds me of the old saying "no good deed goes unpunished" The ego's are too big, the purpose is getting lost and the men are fighting over territory.
Me and my husband participated in the search, and it was very disheartening to hear TM say Caylee will never be found. We had barely got home when this comment was reported. Why should he had said that, I don't get it. She is somewhere, more than likely Orlando, they got the pings. But the problem is she was EVERYWHERE, we searched an area that would be so strange to be at, I just could not wrap my brain around her actions during that time period.
We also had the honor to search for Jennifer, does TM think she will never been found too? It's been 2 years, if people can't be found why were we looking?
I am very confused by TM comments and behavior after this was over, I am also sad. I had a very interesting and rewarding experience that I shared with a wonderful group of people, I don't think no of us will forget it or each other.
So to hear this going on kinda of sad, I would hope we did some good.

While I do not doubt that both TM and LP do WANT to find Caylee, the two men and their motives are very different. TM is searching with the blessing and request of LE and is using the information and facts that they have willingly supplied him in order to determine WHERE to search. LP is using hunches that are in NO WAY based in fact or on LE information. He jumps from one hunch to the next minute by minute.

Since LP has NOT been approved or sanctioned by LE, he is very much in danger of jeopardizing the case against Casey. Any type of evidence that he might locate or find would never hold up in court because he has made it clear that he is determined to condemn Casey. Tim has been adamant that all searchers be instructed on procedures, that they do not speak with media, and that they may not make calls or take photos of the search. LP has allowed and encouraged photographers, television and print media and untrained lookiloos being in the middle of everything that he does.

One man is in this to find a child and to find and preserve correctly any evidence which might be around. The other is in it to find Caylee and then do every talk show interview that he can get his face into.

Tim is needed and wanted elsewhere. He is wise enough to realize that no one single missing person is more important than another. If he can go to North Carolina and perhaps find two or three or four, it would be unconscionable to waste his time, money and resources in Florida on a hopeless search. Caylee or her body could be anywhere, there is no area to which it can be narrowed down to search any further.

Tim is as disappointed as anyone could ever be to leave without finding this child. However, he is also wise and experienced and needed elsewhere. If he says that he has searched all areas requested by LE in this case, there is nothing more for him to do. It is impossible to search hundreds of square miles of scrub areas when there is NO indication that Casey or anyone else who had Caylee was ever there.

:clap::clap::clap::clap: I nominate this for post of the week!

Very well said. It's simply a matter of common sense.
