Is this the only sub this company has? I thought that I had read, and I can't find it now, that company owned more than one sub. Couldn't they search the depth with another sub?
Being serious...but there is toiletright?
When Bob Ballard was recording and inspecting the wreckage of the Titanic there was concern that Alvin's (submersible) cables would become tangled in debris.
I am a big Bob Ballard fan and Ballard has found many missing ships including ships from WW2 and the Russian nuclear sub Thresher while looking for the Titanic. He found the battleship Bismarck.*There are some really awesome photos here

According to experts' various theories, the decayed bow of the famous ship could collapse in a year or two, or hundreds of years.

I totally understand. That would have been the first question I would've asked before planning the trip.![]()
Inside submersible that vanished on Titanic expedition
Authorities are currently searching for Ocean Gate's 22ft carbon fiber and titanium vessel called the Titan after it vanished on Sunday.www.dailymail.co.uk

The big problem is that the ocean is so vast. Titanic is 2.5 miles below the surface, and without guidance from a support ship to pinpoint the precise coordinates, it''s nearly impossible for submersibles to find the wreck at all.Is this the only sub this company has? I did not ad that info, thanks. I assumed others understood what I meant.Alvin wasn't tethered to the surface, but had a small ROV (remote-operated vehicle) named Jason Jr. which was connected by a fiber-optic line. Anyone who has seen the movie Titanic will probably recall the Mir subs and their small ROVs.
Researchers were always terrified the fiber-optic lines would become entangled on the wreck, not only because of the danger to the submersibles and their crew, but also because nobody wanted to be responsible for damaging Titanic!

Ballard regretted giving the location of the Titanic because the damage done to the ship during James Cameron's expedition and that it desecrated the ships victims.I am a big Bob Ballard fan and Ballard has found many missing ships including ships from WW2 and the Russian nuclear sub Thresher while looking for the Titanic. I had hoped he could help find the missing plane MH370.

Contact was lost 1:45 hours after it started the dive. I wonder what the last transmissions were?Per CNN (TV), The company waited for two hours before reporting it to the Coast Guard.

As of approx 2:00 CST today, the submersible has been missing for about 24 hours.

This video of a previous Oceangate dive explains how the mothership guides the sub crew by sending them text messages about their location. If there's no communication, the sub won't know where to go.Contact was lost 1:45 hours after it started the dive. I wonder what the last transmissions were?
Ballard believed with the advanced video technology that people did not need to put themselves in danger nor the cost of travel to see hard to reach places in our world and beyond.Ballard regretted giving the location of the Titanic because the damage done to the ship during James Cameron's expedition and that it desecrated the ships victims.
Also that it had become a site seeing tour.
Oh my it is tiny. I can't imagine being trapped in there. This video of a previous Oceangate dive explains how the mothership guides the sub crew by sending them text messages about their location. If there's no communication, the sub won't know where to go.
Video should start at 7:30 where they show how this works:
Somehow "improvised from camping shop stock" , for a submersible that will descend farther than two miles under the ocean -- sounds scary.A good pic of inside Titan.![]()

It was the opportunity of a lifetime. A chance to plumb the depths of the Atlantic Ocean, and view the haunting wreck of the Titanic.www.yahoo.com
