Def pointing out the involvement of E and Davidson and distancing Cobbins.

  • #822
Def asking if Patrol sent to Chipman immediately while search warrant being done. Slamming Childress for not knowing all this. Det admits there might be evidence about the case jury hasn't seen. Def says you are asking that this jury take this man's life????

Lunch break.

Judge swearing in cobbins.

Clarifying guilty plea to six counts, 4 is kidnapping, 1 rape and 1 theft.

  • #826
Cobbins glaring at judge who is reading the counts.

  • #827
Lawyer now says he facilitation not of commiting the kidnapping. Facilitation is a less of an offense than the indictment states.

Lawyer now says pleading guilty to oral penetration of Channon, but not by causing bodily injury as the indictment states. WTF didn't defense read these before?

  • #828
Regarding theft pleading guilty of facilitation not actual crime for gain again a lesser offense.

  • #829
He can change his plea, but the state can still pursue the harsher charges.

Ok, it won't benefit Cobbins to change his plea and if found guilty could end up in worse shape? If anyone can post a clearer explanation please do.

He doesn't have to plead guilty and can let the jury decide. The trial will still continue.

That sounds good

Surely there would have been a faster way for judge's explanation

lol, Christee I am obviously!

When you plead guilty, you can't have an appeal.

  • #839
Since the prosecutor didn't accept his rape plea, and he could be charged with worse, but at the least with what he's pleaded guilty to, why wouldn't he plead innocent to everything? On the off chance that he would be convicted of something lesser than what he pleaded to?

I know what I wrote doesn't make sense.

Do you think Cobbins understood any of that?
