Am I understanding the correct term is called switch records and not ping records?

as the wife of a telephone co guy, I'm guessing swtiches would indicate location of pings, if that make sense. Switches indicate the path of a call, in and out of different locations.

Telephone calls don't just go from A to Z directly. The usually go from A to B to C to X to Z, etc, through different SWITCHING offices or centers.

Some towers (presumably like the mall tower) have 5-6 mine radius.
Suburban ones can be more like 2 miles.

Could be where Channon called from the shoe department at mall? to her mom, telling her she was closing and then going to walgreens and friends apartment.

This guy is giving technical testimony but, while English isn't necessarily his first language, I think he's a good witness. He comes off as knowledgeable and interested in explaining himself.

Call was from a landline to one of his cellphone customers.

It's interesting because the ...geeze, he lost me. :floorlaugh:

OK.. if I call you and it goes to voicemail, then what shows depends on whether the receiving phone is on or off.

If off, it'll show the switch number as the location. If on, it'll show where the cell phone was.
