GUILTY TN - Evelyn Boswell, 15 months, Sullivan County, 26 DEC 2019 *MOM ARRESTED* #10

  • #421
This has to be the most extensive jury verdict form I've seen. I recently saw one much shorter but was so confusing that the jurors didn't understand it. I hope this jury can clearly understand and answer appropriately. JMO
It may take them a while to get through it.

I hope the State goes through the charges line by line and organizes the evidence for them, orally.

It needs to be stronger than: we knows she's guilty, we just don't know what of.

It comes down to this for me: if you think she's responsible for the tinfoil, then she is why Evelyn is dead.

Plus she told LE that she was "on again, off again" with HW, and I believe she was talking about December. Rocky relationship from the start. But she said she was spending the night there. When we know Evelyn was NOT at a sitter, NOT with her mom or dad, NOT with E. So where was she? I think she was home alone.

I think MB got more and more accustomed to being at work and with HW (trying desperately to get him to want her) and her easy lies were working (telling different lies to different people about where Evelyn was).... I think she left her alone really long... and was in a hurry to get back to work or back to HW and didn't want to come back again.

I will never understand the tinfoil. Not just because it's horrific but it's so WEIRD. I think she used it like Saran Wrap, nothing else makes sense to me. Like people who think mayo and miracle whip are the same. Tinfoil, Saran Wrap, same, same. She just didn't have Saran Wrap. IMO she used tinfoil because it's all she had. She intended for it to work like plastic over the face.

Horrendous.

I keep imagining poor little Evelyn all by hetself in the trailer for hours, if not days.
It's so cruel

In a sleeper so the damn diaper couldn't even FALL off. Sitting in urine with a flourishing diaper rash. How unbearably painful.

Maybe that's as far as Evelyn could get the zipper. :(

Between Evelyn and MB, Evelyn had the greater shot at growing up. Until MB put a hard stop to it.

I don't see MB ever growing up.

She couldn't be bothered to take care of the baby she started.

She quit even trying.

Question, while we wait for closings:

Was there ever a recipient announced for the reward money for finding baby Evelyn? Didn't Tommy Boswell call in the tip to eventually find her?

Closing statements begin.

Judge admonished the gallery -- any outbursts, he'll clear the courtroom.

I'm late to this...'the State rests.' What?? o_O

I truly hope there are no 'organized' and/or 'time sensitive' Jurors still wanting to define the gaps of Evelyn's final days!

Yes, it's a given that MB is a pathological liar but I think the State's Prosecutor could have done a better job presenting this case to the Jurors given they had it for 5 years!

The State has the burden of proof here and the Jurors should not be left wanting and/or scratching their heads! All that was required of the defense was to attend the trial!

I dunno.. Perhaps they should have taken a page from the detective who used the table in the interview room to build a crude, visual timeline and made their own December 2019 timeline tracking MB's movements to pinpoint exactly when EB fell off the radar.

The State would have had access MB's payroll records to know what days and hours she worked from December 2, 2019 to whatever her last date of employment-- left untold. We know she had daycare for only two of those dates (undefined).

Also, College finals are not difficult to figure out -- they're published! We don't need a two week window to 'guess' when MB took dirty, smelly, EB out for a meal.

There are warriors lined up outside the Courthouse everyday in support of Justice for Evelyn, and I think EB deserved the best of the State representing her inside the Courtroom.

Oof

State off to a weak start IMO.

Game show? And wrong game show, no less?

Reminding jury that what attorneys say is not evidence.

Oh, boy. Defense already objecting.

Judge reminds jury that Defense doesn't have to PROVE anything. Burden is on State.

State is going down a list of Defense claims.

I hope she pulls this together. Soon.

So far I’m not impressed with the state’s closing. Maybe it’ll get better?

Now that she is bringing the timeline together it's getting a little more steam....
rough start

Photos. Good. Shows neglect. Took her two months to trash her trailer. And her daughter.

  • #432
Good points for the State, multiple victims here. HW isn't a suspect, he's a victim.

  • #433
"And where is Evelyn was during this time?"

[Shows the playhouse with the trash can.] "Here she is."

Powerful.

Yep, every picture tells a story. That trailer was wrecked by Megan after just a few weeks. The playhouse was nothing more than a big trash dump. Poor little Evelyn stunk in the last days of her short life. Ugh.

State points out Megan’s comment that Evelyn was “mean as f.” What a piece of nasty.

Ooh, state just said Megan sits here (in the courtroom) crying and unable to look at the pictures but doesn’t look sad at all in the vacation photos from the time after Evelyn disappeared.

She nailed that!

State to jury: tell MB her lies have caught up to her

  • #438
"Who's fingerprints were on the trash can?"
MB's
"Who's fingerprints are on that trash bag?"
MB's
"They are on the foil that was wrapped around EB's head"

  • #439
Did MB wear gloves because she didn't want to touch Evelyn? Not because of fingerprints, but because her neglected baby was urine-soaked? Gotta love repeat offenders who destroy their own room/house/property/children and then don't want them anymore because they're messy.
