2/13/25 Thursday, Trial Day 8: *The jury decided on a sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole. The verdict means Boswell will serve 51 years before she is eligible for parole. The jurors were thanked for their service & released from the court.
*Sentencing for Boswell on her other charges will be decided at a hearing on 5/22/25 @ 1:30pm. At that hearing, the court will discuss the merging of some charges & the way in which her sentence is carried out. Attorney Tim Horne asked to be released as co-counsel from the case, which Goodwin granted.

2/24/25 Update: Boswell was sent to a women’s prison in Nashville. The Tennessee DOC has Boswell listed as being in the Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center.
5/22/25 Update: Boswell will not have a sentencing hearing Thursday, according to Court Clerk Bobby Russell. Boswell was set to be sentenced on all of her other charges in relation to Evelyn’s death, besides first-degree murder. The hearing was originally scheduled for Thursday at 1:30pm. A new sentencing date has been set on 9/5/25.
6/5/25 Update: Boswell's attorney is challenging the State wanting MB to serve consecutive sentences which would equate to life in prison. Besides appealing her verdict, her lawyers contend Boswell should serve concurrent sentences because the jury decided she was entitled to parole. Hence, this is the delay in formally sentencing MB. There was supposed to be a hearing on this matter on May 22.

3 hours to go.

I wonder if Megan will get the sentence she deserves - LWOP - or will she be eligible for parole one day?

I can’t begin to imagine how cold and empty Megan’s heart must be to not only murder her sweet daughter but stuff her little body in a garbage can! I think the aluminum foil did me in on this one. Nasty woman deserves no hope of ever leaving prison. JMO

Agreed! This case and Gannon's really did me in. I really hope for LWOP, that all her sentences run consecutively, but I also fear she'll be parole eligible one day. She's despicable.

Sullivan county sheriff Sullivan just finished.

Lt. Price sworn in.

Megan looks a little ragged around the edges. She’s paying more attention now than she did during the trial.

Prosecution recapping the case, showing some evidence photos.

State going over resources spent looking for Evelyn.
Lt. Price:Looking at pictures of the way Evelyn was found in the trash can.

  • #811
I think the purpose is to show how casually little Evelyn’s body was treated.

Megan’s up!

She’s claiming she didn’t get a fair trial otherwise she would have been acquitted. That’s it.

Prosecution is asking for consecutive sentences.

Ugh.

Tears.

If she'd had a better jury, she'd have been acquitted.

"I didn't kill my baby."

You wrapped her in tinfoil and threw her away.

Not a word of sadness over the love lost.

I've heard enough.

Prosecution: Megan chose a big house (over her daughter)....

For once she gets her wish -- the Big House.

Hoping the judge levels her.
