Wild Turkeys can be vicious. They are very large and will go after you. Back east when I was working for a City we laughed until we cried when a local cop tried to put 2 wild turkeys in his cruiser to relocate them. They were going after pedestrians and he was trying to move them. He went to the hospital with many bites. They(the turkeys) then attacked his police car. :lol: :lol:

Grandmaj, we need some help with this case. It is going nowhere fast. I have the worst luck with cases in Tn and Ga. LE, imo, shut down the Tara Grinstead case also...no one talked. Here we go again. The family cam on TV to talk and the pastor shut them up..MO.

I have heard that in other TN cases they went just like this. No information. This is a frustrating case because the news reports are a mess and there have been little in the way of formal statements. I don't know where this case is going but one thing for sure, it is making lots of people crazy.

Unless something breaks in this case I don't think we are going to have answers. I'm glad to see the family coming out more but they need to speak to someone who doesn't want 2 minute sound bites someone who will let them tell the whole story. MOO

In reading about the case on the web, people are real uptight. It's weird because they are very defensive about all sorts of things. I need to do research on rural community crimes. Even this latest death in Parsons seems glossed over. The pastor and the father-of-the-bride got into it??

I have to wonder if there are more drugs and alcohol consumed there than in the average city. I did spend a few months in a very small town and I can vouch that there are weird people. It is noticed more because there are so few people around. I know pedophiles move out of the city and go to the country quite often. I imagine other types do also. They can hide their activities much better.

Parsons, TN -- Police say a Tennessee man died after hitting his head in a scuffle with the pastor who presided at his daughter's wedding.

Guns and God run neck and neck in Parsons, TN. I personally find this an odd combination. When your pastor is your Sheriff, things can get muddled.

Sooo...if you tell your pastor something personal and in confidence, this pastor is LE or is close to LE. Is this why the Sheriff says nothing. Is it because all of his information is personal and he doesn't have to disclose anything?

This Spokesperson for the Bobo (who assigned himself) is a pastor there. He hasn't given any information. He seems to want them to be quiet....nothing else. He acts not like a Spokesperson, but as an attorney.

I don't think the preacher and fob was glossed over. It was just a one time story for the media. Nothing worth their time sts.

I don't think you will find more drugs in small towns. I've lived in both and it used to be that the drugs were in big towns. Now drugs are everywhere, so is drinking. Having said that, moonshine does exist in a lot of states. Tn being one of them. People can get shot getting too close to a moonshine still.

I don't know that Darden is a place for a moonshine still. Most of the stills I have heard about were in the mountains. Harder for LE to get to and easier to defend.

When we look at an area and look at the information coming out of the area we also have to look at the media. Who are they talking to if anyone, what are the questions they are asking, and how many follow-up questions do they ask.

I believe the lack of information in this case is largely due to inept reporters. They wanted a quick response and a quick story. Subject closed no further action. When they did the interviews they had a small window of air time allowed. Nothing like 60-minutes so it was ask a few questions and move on to the next story. jmo

:seeya: if that altercation happened anywhere but parsons, tn, that pastor would be in deep doodoo. I know what you mean by gun-shy, Jeannie.

From what I have uncovered the church and LE walk hand in hand. The death of this man needs investigation. But who would do it? I don't think Parsons LE will, since some are pastors themselves. This is a slippery slope they walk...but because it is a small rural area, it never reaches large media. Almost anywhere else, it would receive attention.

I dpn't think the lack of info is from inept reporters. I think it is from the people in the town who control the lives of everyone around them...that would be the pastors and the Sheriffs.

I am convinced the pastors function as law enforcement in Decatur County.
